My wife and two kids (4 and 2) had a great weekend on the property. My kids spent all of their time outside while we were at the farm playing and exploring. Some highlights included free-range chickens clucking about and goats on the property. The accommodations are private, clean and out of a storybook. I would recommend the farm to anyone looking for a relaxing and quiet place to stay. It was a great weekend.

Outstanding Experience in Canadian Farmland

A stay like you rarely get these days!
Scott and Cindy made us feel like home with a well equiped farmhouse, comfy beds and fresh goods.
The personal farm tour was super instructive and appreciated, and we enjoyed being around goats, chickens and cats during all the stay!
We will definitively be back and recommend to our friends!
We were 4 adults, 2x 26 y/o and 2x 58 y/o. This is also a great place for children and families, super safe and the kids will love the animals. The owners are extremely kind and will make you feel like home! 

Amazing getaway! 

Everything about this place was perfect. The couple who run it are very sweet and kind. The house is adorable and cozy and decorated beautiful.we had fresh baked goods waiting for us when we arrived. So yummy. There were goats and chickens we could visit. Fresh eggs feo m the coop too.
We barbeques and used the lovely,fully equipped kitchen. 
It really was a perfect getaway. We will go back again for sure.

A perfect getaway

We needed an interesting and different place to stay whilst attending Stratford Festival. This was just wonderful...greeted by fresh flowers, farmyard cats, homemade scones and goat cheese. The guesthouse is filled with antiques, artwork and interesting accent pieces. Bedding was extremely comfortable. Bathroom was new     and immaculate as was the well equipped modern kitchen. Encouraged to visit the horses, play with the sweet little kitties and help ourselves to the fresh eggs laid by the Rhode Island Red chickens. The vegetable garden yielded fresh tomatoes, peppers, beets and carrots. All and all it was a wonderful, charming end to a great stay in Ontario. This would be a delightful place to be with children.

Charming guest house..wonderful hosts

Our family did not know much about the area, coming mainly to see Shakespeare. We did not book our accomodations early, so nothing was available in Stratford itself-Fortunately. How lucky we were or we would probably have never found Cindy, Scott, and Transvaal. It is located perfectly to see what this great region has to offer. Even if you don't vernure far, our 2 story cottage was charming with surprises at every turn, many of them involving goat-soap, truffles, cheese, milk, most made on the farm. We have a newfound respect for this animal. We even got our own eggs if were were nice to the chickens. Both Cindy and Scott could not have been nicer. We came expecting great hosts and left feeling like we made new friends. It's simple - stay here!

Perfect Stay

We stayed 4 nights at Transvaal the end of May.  There was myself and my two sisters. Just driving in to the place we could feel our selves relaxing from our everyday hustles and bustles.   The owners Scott and Cindy are friendly and welcoming. They make you feel at home instantly.  Cindy definitely can win you over with her homemade goodies.  Best of all you can purchase her homemade goods and preserves to take home!!!  Her Granola bars are amazing. 
The two bedroom apartment is really spectacular. Very clean, well equipped, and decorated in what you would picture a perfect farm house would be.  Great linens, plush towels, equipped with all that is necessary for preparing your own meals.  If you cant find what you need Scott and Cindy are there to help you find it.  
I highly recommend this spot for quiet, fun get aways.  Close to St. Marys, and only 20 Minutes from Stratford.  Oh and we will return in the fall to see how our cucumbers came out!!!!
