This places needed a little up keep work.   The room was clean and we have no complaints about that.  Just the broken wall socket and mould in bathroom,  i dint think they cleaning staff are trained to look at these very important areas..

Ok place for the money

The title says it all!!
 dirt, mold , stains and toaster crumbs 
We stayed in room #16, they have not been  renovated in probably 35+ years,  same old dirty carpet.
But the hygiene is what worried me , it was truely disgusting.  I have traveled all over the world and traveled Atlantic Canada for work, NEVER HAD I EVER STAYED IN A ROOM THIS DIRTY!!

I can't believe the dept of health hasn't been involved!

When I went to the front desk and asked WHO  cleans the rooms.. the owner said  we do....  well they are running the hotel and " cleaning " ... they might be changing the sheets but that is all they did!!


Run fast!!  They don't clean the rooms!!

I would not recommend staying here.  The whole place is in need of MAJOR repairs and renovation!  The owners were very accommodating but the place just needs so much work, cleaning, updating and new furnishings.

Would not recommend this motel.

Quaint little spot.  We enjoyed our stay here.  Room was a little dated, but that added to the charm for me.  Room was very clean.  AC worked well.  Plenty of amenities in the room.  Close to many shops (dollar stores, grocery store, etc).  WiFi seemed quite stable.  We would stay here again.

Nice place to stay

This Inn does the trick in the short term but I wouldn't hurry back It is old & rundown and in need of some serious TLC. Very close to the PEI Ferry though so it is convenient. The room was relatively clean but run down & needs to have blinds fixed, better updated bathrooms, etc. 
The photos on their website are very old as they don't show how run down things are.
Nice to be able to drive up to the door though.
No amenities like breakfast, etc. are offered.

Good enough but needs work

We have been touring around Nova Scotia and love eating lobster. We found a shack nearby that had lobster for super cheap (Logan's Daily Catch) but had nowhere to cook it. We were bummed out that we were going miss out on such a great deal, but the owners were kind enough to let us use the kitchen in a vacant premium cabin for a few hours (our cabin, cabin #2, was simpler and didnt have a kitchen). Didn't charge us a dime–she just unlocked the door for us and said to take as much time as we needed. Very kind owners. I've never experienced this kind of hospitality anywhere else in my years of travel

The AC was also phenomenal. Very powerful. This is late August, so coming home after a day of walking around the hot city of Pictou, it was great to be greeted with a cold blast of air from the room. You can definitely tell the buildings are old as some other reviews have said, but the room was very clean and well-kept. You can tell the owners put a lot of effort into maintaining this place despite its age. Super comfortable. Would highly recommend anyone visiting Pictou stay here.

Incredibly Kind and Hospitable Owners–Highly Recommend

we stayed in a cottage:
- had to manually fill the toilet tank every time we used the toilet
- no water pressure for showers
- stove was disturbingly hot when not in use which made us question if it was safe
- fridge door had to be wedged to stay closed
- there were holes in most of the screened windows
- the smell of perfumed air freshener and laundry detergent was so intense that one occupant had to sleep in the car because of allergies
- the smell of mildew/mold and grime was overwhelming
- the place was in need of a complete  deep clean. it was unbelievable filthy. 
- a refund was offered but never received

The pictures shown on this site were certainly not what we were put into! The bind was all cracked, the fridge door didn't close and didn't work. The stench of urine and mold in the cabin was sickening. The water pressure was so  low we couldn't flush the toilet let alone take a shower. There was absolutely nothing coming out of the shower head. Immediately we went to the office and were told the manager would be informed. Because we had an engagement we left and assumed the water issue would be fixed when we returned but we were wrong!. When we called we were told that a plumber would be by next week....after we were supposed to check out. We asked for another cabin but we were told nothing was available.  We had a wedding the next day and we needed showers for 3. We were given a key to another cabin to use the toilet....that had very low water pressure also. 
We were offered a full refund which we took but due to the lateness we were forced to stay the night.

This is a dump

Stayed one night in Cottage #21.  Not impressed as grass was not cut around the cottage and dishes in dish strainer.  Heading to PEI ferry and could not even tell us what road to take. Beds were clean and comfortable, bathroom was clean and we had lots of towels  Had to ask for an extra chair as there was 3 of us and only 2 chairs.  They were very obliging by bringing us another chair. Just did not feel comfortable.  Maybe put in older cottage because we had a little pet.   Owners were very friendly.  The heat pump remote was screwed to the wall and the AC was on when we went in and it was very cold.  No way to turn heat on.

Not impressed.

A co-worker stayed here a few years ago and recommend  this place. Extremely disappointed.  The cottage was run down, dirty carpets and furniture, used Kleenex under one of the beds, broken  dirty blinds, kitchen dishes needed to be cleaned before use and only one roll of toilet paper for two adults for a five day stay.  Will never go back.
Clearly not ready to be rented even though reservations were made at the end of March for the May 2022 long weekend!!
