A nice basic motel that doesn't pretend to be anything else. Rooms were clean although quite dated. Everything was functional and in good condition. The restaurant attached to the hotel was nice, decent variety of items, although we only had a single meal there. The locals, of all ages, seem to patronize the restaurant. The room we were assigned at check-in hadn't been cleaned but the staff quickly provided an alternate room. Many of the room have an outside access in addition to the internal access. Beds were comfortable, Some of the bedding looked a bit old but it was clean which was the important thing. Wifi worked fine for us although we didn't use it extensively.

The cabin was charming and clean with a fabulous view of the sea.  The bed is very comfortable, the kitchen was supplied with all the basics, and the bathroom had plenty of shampoo etc.  We ate in the restaurant, and I was over the moon with the freshness and quality of the seafood.  So much better than anything I’ve ever had in Ontario.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this waterfront location.  and helpful. The rooms were clean & comfortable.The beds and pillows made for a great night's sleep, enhanced by the seaside view from our room. The meals were great with attentive servers and while you're dining you can enjoy the water view at high and low tides. Try the Cod Gratin!  It was a delicious start to our stay.
We also enjoyed the local grocery store, saw a caribou at the village lookout, a whale from the lighthouse trail, and a beautiful sunset from the local beac.

Seaside delight

Stayed 2 nights in a self- catering cabin. Clean, well-equipped & comfortable. Tried to book online but never received confirmation. Called  and was told by friendly staff that the wifi in that location "comes and goes", which we experienced while on site. Not a problem as Port aux Choix is a lovely place with several restaurants, a lighthouse to explore and serves as a handy rest point en route to northern NL destinations. Had booked a single room and was surprised (pleasantly) to be put in a cabin. Did note at checkout that we were charged a higher room rate. Comfortable rooms, restaurant on site with live, local music & friendly staff. Listen out for the piper when tour buses roll in ;)

The place is a classic motel, located in the centre of town with an attached restaurant. The rooms are dated but everything was in working order. The noise coming from the hallway may be a problem, especially if the motel is full. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Okay motel, rooms could be better

Unfortunately this motel suffers from staffing issues as many do during the current times; however, I have to say the owner is very accommodating and addressed our issues while there. We changed from a cabin to a motel room and the room was as expected. The cabins could do with some updating. The beds were comfortable.

One night stay

We were driving about in the area, and were intrigued by Port au Choix.  On the day we went, most of the restaurants were closed, and so we were thankful the Sea Echo was open.  But neither did they disappoint on the food offering. We had traditional boiled cod with toast, a Newfoundland speciality. The cod, while not highly spiced, was cooked to perfection, and made for a very good meal. The server was very friendly, and the decor modern. If we ever came back here, we'd eat here again.

The motel looked a little tired but the beds were comfortable and the staff helpful. The rooms were clean and the small fridge was adequate. When we arrived at the hotel (late afternoon) we were not sure if it was open and it took a while to find someone to help us at the front desk.

Classic roadside motel

As 2 couples traveling together we booked a 2 bedroom cabin rather than 2 rooms in the motel.  The walls were thin but we were exhausted and didn't hear anything once we went to bed.  The cabin was clean and large enough for 4 adults.

We were close to the harbour and the lighthouse.  Added bonus was seeing the caribou herd in the morning.

Dinner at the restaurant was good.  Good choices, good prices and good staff.

Oddly, booking a cabin for 4 adults we only received 2 free breakfasts?!?

So I book this hotel becau
se a family member of mine was getting married in town I and I n6eed somewhere to stay... it just so happened I work a full-time job and I work late and showed up at 8:02( trust me I would not make this exact time in my complaint if I didn't look at my phone and it didn't make the story any better) I asked the front desk is there still a chance of ordering any food from the restaurant they said no Restaurant close at 8 I'm not in a comforting way it was more like I felt ridiculous for asking the girl at the front desk try to order food from this establishment because I was 2 minutes late... the rooms are pretty average two double beds weather fridge the rooms were most definitely clean and The View was better than expected I just wish I would have had a better experience with the kitchen staff who would not serve me a Greco Pizza because I was 2 minutes late what I recommend you stay here yes when I recommend you eat here no
