My wife and I stayed in Room 1 for 2 nights after flying into Port Hardy from a fishing lodge on Baker Island.  The home is very close to the Port Hardy airport so a 10-15 drive into Port Hardy.  When we were there the home was up for sale as Alfons and his wife are planning to move into town so not sure how much longer it will be a B&B.

The whole place was immaculate and our room was very spacious with a comfy queen bed, flat screen TV, large bathroom, closet, easy chair, small fridge, etc.  The free wifi worked fine for us.  The front door to the house has a cypher lock and you get the combo to get in and out - worked great and easier than a key.

You can pick the time you want breakfast, which is served in the common area downstairs which has a kitchen and dining area (the owners live upstairs).  The breakfast area had a buffet type set up with cereal, yogurt, fruit, cheeses, etc and then Alfons cooks up crepes, eggs, sausage, etc.  There was plenty of food and it was all excellent.

There are several places to eat dinner in town and that is about 10-15 minutes away by car.  It is also nice and quiet at the B&B since it is out of Port Hardy itself, and very close to the Port Hardy airport if you happen to be using that.

We would highly recommend this B&B as long as the current owners are running it.

Very comfortable accomodation & great breakfast!

After experiencing less than accommodating B&Bs in the United States, I was hesitant about trying one in Canada.  However, my time at the Escape B&B gave me a new perception of what a B&B should be.  Hosts Jane and Alfonse were friendly and welcoming, my room was comfortable, the bathroom was modern with touches of luxury.  Guests can relax in the large downstairs living area and patio.

When I discovered the gorgeous and diverse breakfast Alfonse had prepared for me the next morning, I was overwhelmed.  Fresh fruit, homemade crepes, Continental style cheese and ham, tomatoes in balsamic vinegar, American style sausage and bacon . . . All of it delicious.

This is my idea of the perfect B&B, and this solo traveler gives it 5 stars.

Unexpected Pleasures

My wife & I stayed with Alfons, Jane & Bianca at Escape B&B last month (Sept 2018).  The property is immaculate and very warm and comfortable.  Alfons breakfasts were superb and is knowledge of the local area and wildlife was invaluable.  He is also a talented photographer.  If we are ever in the Port Hardy area again we will definitely stay at Escape B&B.

Friendly and Informative

as above ,plus friendly advice and tourist tips .would highly recommend ,my wife and self and son and partner with our 2yr old grandson stayed 3 nights ,a great time with plenty of room . breakfast was a mixture of great food ranging from the chef's own cured  salmon ,,eggs of choice ,fruit ,yoghurt ,cheeses, tea coffee , ham bacon salami ,need i go on .thank you Alfons ,Jane and Bianca ,from Gary and Debbie in new zealand .

Alfons and Jane are very good hosts. They are friendly, hospitable and make you feel at home.There house is located in a very quiet and nice part of Port Hardy. The rooms are spacious and decorated with taste. Speaking about taste.... the breakfast made by Alfons is great. During our three week trip in BC, this was the best B&B.
The B&B is within 10 minutes of the Ferry for the Inside Passage. In the other direction  it is 5 minutes to the Airport.
