My husband and I stayed in this hotel for three nights while we were on a vacation in British Columbia.  We arrived at the hotel about midnight after a wonderful sixteen hour ferry ride from Port Hardy.  The check in was quick and efficient and we were in our water view room in no time.  The room was a little on the small side, but it was comfortable and the beds were comfortable, too.  We ate in the restaurant for two dinners and two breakfasts and the food was very good.  The view of the water and surrounding scenery is especially nice from the restaurant.  All the people who work at the hotel were very pleasant and helpful, especially the people at the front desk.  There is an onsite laundry which I very much appreciated.

Comfortable Hotel with Beautiful Views

I always love staying at the Crest.  It is a beautiful hotel, the people are amazing and it’s in a great location.  Angie E is always friendly and welcoming and her team at the front are always pleasant.  In Charlie’s lounge, the best of the best are there to help.  Bren and Brenda behind the bar are amazing at what they do and always friendly.  Bonnie and Trevor always please everyone they serve and I always see their customers leaving with a smile.! All very knowledgeable and make you feel welcome from the moment you step in

Amazing place, amazing people and great location

Stayed here for 1 night after taking the ferry from Port Hardy, hence we arrived after midnight.  Luckily the staff are excellent and the check in was a very efficient enabling us to get to our room quickly and got to bed.  The room was a little smaller than our other rooms on this trip, but it was very comfortable, clean, quiet and well appointed.  It is easy to find and has ample free car parking.

Good nights sleep after 16 hours on a ferry.

This elegant hotel somehow feels old fashioned – where a movie star from the 1950’s might stay.  Lots of wood paneling, house phones in the lobby, and a creaky but perfectly functional elevator.  Their restaurant (the ‘Waterfront Restaurant’ – see our separate review) feels like the most happening place in town – more so with locals than with tourists on the Friday and Saturday nights when we stayed.  And the bar was also quite lively. 

Our room had the ‘city / mountain view’, where from the window seat we looked out over the grand old houses on the other crest (and the parking lot).  Rumor has it the ‘harbor view’ rooms on the other side are even more spectacular.

My only issues were that the third-floor ice machine gave out of ice, and my key was a bit flaky.  Nothing major, and nothing that would dampen our enthusiasm for this lovely hotel.

Lovely, Elegant, Old-style, Hotel Right in the Middle of Town

Lovely room. Old fashioned stylish decor. Great restaurant. Very slick check in coming off ferry st 01.30. Eagles flying g outside windows. Safeway opposite for supplies. Next door to great museum.   Well worth staying her in this lovely town

Fantastic old style hotel on seafront

We stayed at Crest Hotel for two nights  in their Studio Suite.  Check-in  was a breeze, front desk staff were very helpful and accommodating. Our 4th floor room overlooking the water was amazing.  The interior design was top notch, very well appointed and clean.  The room felt like you were in a boutique hotel in a large city.

Top Notch!

We were on the 3rd floor with a glorious view of the harbour.  Wonderful sun sets and always something moving about on the ocean.  COVID protocols in place so no maid service offered on a daily bases, if you needed something you had to find staff on the floor, that wasn't too hard.
Washrooms were small, multiple shower heads - I didn't get adventurous with them.  Window seats to admire the view.

Great place to stay, well maintained

We had to book here as the bed and breakfast we booked at (a year in advance) cancelled our three rooms last minute over their lack of understanding of COVID restrictions.

We booked in here and are all glad we did. Rooms were clean and quiet. Restaurant was excellent. 

The staff was pleasant and the service was prompt. 

I needed a plug in for our vehicle and the manager went out of his way to help me. 

It’s a little pricy for what you get, but it was a low stress stay!

Excellent stay

My stay this week from Tuesday to Thursday was as great as they usually are each month.  Views of the ocean are wonderful and although I was facing the opposite way this month, the view out the front is something to behold.  Sunny blue sky and snow dusted hills in the distance.  Kamara, I hope I got that right, at the front desk is wonderful and I received exceptional service from Trevor in Charleys lounge.  Covid precautions are in place and well thought out.  I always stay here.  It’s more than what my company allows but it is worth it to pay the difference.  Nothing wrong with their rates, competitive with the other limited options.  Can’t wait to bring my family one day.  

Organized

It was our 50th high school reunion and many of us stayed at the Crest, our banquet was at the Crest and we enjoyed many very nice meals there.  The staff were friendly and efficient.   The rooms and whole building were clean and well kept.  I even got to do my own laundry at a good price.   The views from the lounge and the dining room are spectacular.
