DISGUSTING!! BLOODY and DIRTY sheets?  MOLDY food and dishes? EXPIRED food from 4 years ago? A floor SO DIRTY your feet turn black? COBWEBS everywhere you look? No WIFI? No clean water? No Toilet Paper!? MOUSE FECES? A suite that smells SO BAD you want to VOMIT!?  The only thing missing was a BLOODY NEEDLE lying around. If these are things you want to pay money for, then look no further.  My stay at Seascape checked off all those boxes.  A call to the health authority could shut this place down.  Come on now.  HOW does this even EXIST?

It's a rundown property with a dishonest property manager that will do anything to make money.  They don't care about you or your experience.

I confirmed with Matthew (my host) that my reservation was good to go since I was driving a long way.  From start to finish, it was all a LIE! The photos of the suite were NOT ACCURATE.  I paid for a beautiful waterfront property.  What I got was an OLD, ABANDONED house tucked way up the hill.  The listed photos on Airbnb were for the top floor suite that someone lives in.  The initial photos were replaced after I confronted the manager that it was FALSE ADVERTISING.  My suite had NO HYDRO set up, so they forced me into the house.  The place smelled so NASTY since it hadn't been opened or lived in since the previous owners took off in a hurry many months ago.

Even after all of this, talking with Matthew about all of the problems in person and my unhappiness about my stay, he reassured me and the on-site caretaker that he would give me a partial or full refund.  I didn't hear from him, so I contacted Airbnb for a resolution.  He refused and gave me NO REFUND and Airbnb offered to refund a portion.

Despite the nice view of the Bay, it's NOT WORTH spending any money on a place this HORRIBLE!  This place DOESN'T DESERVE your hard earned money.  STAY VERY FAR AWAY!

Time for a health inspection!?

We stayed at the seascape resort oct 23-25 2020, first of all we were disappointed with the room, there were no toiletries as mentioned in their listing on airbnb, dishes were limited, we were not informed we had to boil water and didn’t bring any, there are no stores nearby so we had to microwave ice to have water to drink,  we could have boiled if we’d been provided a pot, our unit only had one door which was a slider, so not able to lock it when we left, all these were not a big deal to us but Saturday evening a large noisy party started just outside our unit, I tried contacting the owners to let them know we didn’t appreciate the noise level on what was to be a peaceful relaxing weekend, I also reminded them that there was a gathering restriction in place due to covid and this was clearly a violation, I heard nothing from them that night, the party continued into early morning hours, in the morning the owners apologized saying that their long term residents had decided to throw a party that they were unaware of until morning, he promised us a full refund to make up for our weekend being ruined, we never received the refund or any further response from the owner when contacted.  I would give this place a two star only because the location and view are beautiful and I would give the owners a one star on being a host.  I would recommend to the owners to put a little money into your rooms that you are charging top dollar for, have a little more respect for your guests and remember satisfaction reviews will either make you or break you.

I booked a room here for a vacation, only to receive an email the morning of the trip informing me the resort was closed due to Covid. However, their website continues to accept bookings, and the rooms are still listed on Airbnb. I called and left a voice mail, which was never returned. I totally understand shutting down due to Covid, but it is a terrible business practice to continue to accept bookings, only to cancel at the last minute. They have lost my business in the future as well.

Owner cancelled morning of the trip!

I booked a trip for June 18th and 19th  2020 on Air B and B  that was cancelled by the host because they were not open due to Covid-19.  But The trip was charged to my account. 

I then looked up the resort and e-mailed them with no response for 3 weeks.

Then I called the number online listed on Google Maps and the website.  The voicemail goes to a man named Matthew and doesn't list the resort name. His voicemail was full. 

I then tried to text the number as I was getting no response calling.  This man named Matthew  sent me a text back saying i was rude to text his personal number so late and be so mad considering it is a global pandemic.... this was the resort number on the website and it was my last resort to text it. 

Matthew told me he tried to get me the refund through air b and b but it was not working. He then said he e transferred the money .... it was "pending". I then waited 3 weeks to see if I got it and I did not.  I have tried to get the money back now for 2 weeks. 

Please don't book there. They are rude and if they cancel you may not get your money back.

I BOOKED AND THEY CANCELLED MY RESERVATION THEN DID NOT GET ME MY MONEY BACK 2  MONTHS LATER

Where to begin... When we arrived I immediately felt a little strange and that something was off. No check in? We parked and looked around to try and figure out what the hell was going on. The lady that runs the place came out and had no idea about our reservation and laughed when we told her the details. "That unit is already booked for a long-term rental!" OK?? She said luckily they had one suite left with a "better view." She takes us down to our rental unit and the floor is filthy. "Oh I'll clean that up in a bit." She never cleaned it up. We spent the beginning of our reservation cleaning our own unit. Try out the bed and it's terrible. Above we have a family staying and the place is not sound-proof at all. We can hear them stomping around all night. They next morning we have no pots of kettles and boil water in a frying pan for coffee. Spend a great day on the island. The following morning we are awoken to the joyful sound of the lady that runs the place in a violently verbal argument with one of the long-term tenants in the place accusing her of stealing a blanket from the laundry room. Straight to abusive obscenities which I'm sure all the renters heard including the children. Not a great way to start the day.  We spend an hour hauling down different kayaks only to realize while out on the water that EVERY SINGLE ONE has a leak and starts taking on water immediately. They didn't bother to put them away or throw them in the dump.

Deceiving

The resort has a marina and cabins overlooking Gowland Harbour. The cabins are being renovated and there are plans to update the marina. Under new management. There is an octagonal building with a pool table and small bar that tenants have access to. 

Seaside resort

My wife booked a cabin at the Seascape Resort on Quadra Island for a quiet New Years Getaway for our family. I usually play music at various venues on New Years Eve so this was a rare occasion. We were all excited for this trip, but our excitement vanished as we were shown to the cabin. The stairs to reach the cabin seemed ready to collapse. The area surrounding the cabin was like a garbage dump, or auto wreckers yard. The smell of freshly smoked pot was lingering in the air as we were directed into the filthy cabin. It had not been cleaned for quite some time. The fridge was full of food in various stages of decomposition, the bathroom had "complimentary" used toothbrushes. We told the manager, Matthew O'Donnell about the state of the cabin and that we could not spend the night. He assured me that he would give our family a full refund, that he would credit my mastercard right away. That has turned out to be untrue. I have been chasing my $565 for over a month now and have reached the end of my patience.

Ripped Off for $565 on New Years

I knew this place years ago and little has changed (regardless of new owners) .
You might be lucky enough to get an OK room but if you're not, brace yourself..
The old owner was dodgy as, maybe the new guy has plans for it.
Unless you get confirmation things have changed, stay well away

A complete dump

I used to come to this place as a kid and now have started bringing my own family here and still love it. The cabins are cozy and the location is wonderful. There are plenty of things to do, whether going out to canoe or kayak, fishing off the dock, wading into the water, or heading to nearby Rebecca Spit. This is a relaxing place, a quiet hang out where you can meet other people and have a fun time. I can think of no more relaxing place than here to enjoy time with family and friends.

Love this place

Not sure what is going on at this "resort" but something is very wrong. Based on prior comments (over a year old) and the online description we booked a night for our family. Upon arriival at 6 PM there was no one is the office. We walked all over the property calling for someone without any response. There were numerous junked cars on the property and a building down at the so-called marina was plastered with signs from the police warning not to remove anything. It felt scary and obviously several of the rooms are being used for long term rentals. 

Contacted them by phone several times talking to Freddie and sent emails asking for a return of the initial deposit. Was assured our credit card would be credited but that has not happened. 

Talked to the locals and they said that the property changed hands about a year ago and no one was willing to say to much. We had to book a room at another place and that cost over $300. Pretty bad way to start a family vacation. Whoever is behind the place should be ashamed to call this a resort and take reservations.
