Lived up to expectations.  Location was perfect and the biggest selling point to me...walking distance to everything in the old city.  Steps from shops and restaurants.  Staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Room itself wasn't too bad. The lounge is cozy with a nice espresso machine that I got plenty of use out of, and a bunch of books and board games.  Good price point for the value you get!  Bien fait!

Loved it!

The two best features of this hotel are the location and the continental breakfast. It was so convenient to walk from here around the old city, as well as to Carnival events, and all across the city. Breakfast was a classic continental but with some tasty waffles and a few other nice touches, as well as a nice glassed-in room to eat in.

The room itself (deluxe with two queens) was good, though it felt a little worn down. I was expecting a bit more updated from the photos, but it was fine for several nights stay. And it was spacious which was nice to have lots of room for bags.

Great location, decent rooms

I cannot recommend this place enough!! The customer service was impeccable! We got lost after an event, none of the taxes we called spoke English, we called the hotel at 2am and they arranged to have a taxi pick us up. Pierrett(I'm sorry if I spelled your name wrong!)went beyond, providing us detailed maps and general customer service. 
Our morning breakfast picnic baskets were amazing and the perfect amount of food with delicious flaky French pastries. 
The room was modern,clean, quiet the perfect amount of space with an easy to use TV that you can cast too.
There are many delicious restaurants, pubs and beautiful shops within opening the door.
This was a lovely experience for both of us, when we go back in the summer we will be staying with them again. 
We had the small queen room, with a street view which was beautiful. Each room is different, I can't wait to see what we get next time!

Absolutely lovely experience. Can't recommend enough

This was our second time in Quebec, the first time we stayed at La Frontenac, I Would stay here rather then at La Frontenac. The staff, was impeccable, rooms were so nice!! What a great place to spend our family Christmas vacation.  Location was perfect too, they even sent us a list of restaurants to make reservations at, which is a must in Quebec.  Thank you Pierront!!

Best Hotel in Quebec.

I rarely write a review but I feel obligated to share our wonderful experience at L'Hotel du Vieux-Quebec! The room was beautiful, clean and extremely comfortable, the lounge with great coffee and always open with an inviting fireplace.  This is in walking distance of EVERYTHING you want to see.  And I saved the best for last, the Concierge, mon ami Pierrot will never be forgotten for his professional manner, kindness, charm and getting us into the best restuarants in Quebec City! We look forward to returning as soon as we can.  

Christmas magic!

We - a group of 4 ladies - were absolutely delighted with our stay at your lovely hotel! The rooms were generous, super clean, the beds were luxuriously comfortable, the staff was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. The location was perfect for sightseeing and strolling around Quebec- close to the Frontenac - and the funicular to the charming rue de Champlain area. It was just right and very quiet for a good nights sleep. But the best thing was the great breakfast, served on our door in a little picnic basket!! Just adorable and filled with delicious pastries, yogurt, cheese and fruit available in the lobby. There was a coffee maker in the room but in the lobby there was a wonderful coffee machine with lattes, cappuccinos, espressos etc - excellent!!
We were so very happy with everything at the hotel - will stay there again any time we visit Quebec!!

Excellent/wonderful hotel

One of the most comfortable rooms we have had in our travels.  But we did pay extra for a larger room.  Location is great.  The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful.  The restaurant that shares the building is very good. The lounge was very nice with computers and a printer that we could use. 
 But I think they should offer sodas and not just coffee.  Highly recommended.  

Great location and comfortable room

This hotel was a real gem in the heart of Old Quebec.  Our room was very clean, comfortable, and well designed.  Front staff was friendly and helpful. No language barrier. Housekeeping came each day and kept the room looking great. The hotel’s location is ideal, in the heart of Old Quebec with many excellent restaurants, pubs and shops to choose from. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!  

Great hotel!

We stayed here for several nights and were so glad that we did! Location was as good as you can get in Quebec City with many attractions and great restaurants nearby. Our room had a king size bed and was very well-appointed, including 2 comfortable chairs and a table between them which was handy for eating breakfast. There is a bar area as we entered our room where luggage could easily be stored underneath. In the morning when our breakfast was delivered, we'd use this area to spread out the contents and also use the kettle to make tea. Our breakfasts were uniformly delicious, especially the fresh-baked croissants and pastries. There were plenty of drawers and hangers for our clothes, which was a real plus. The bed was very comfortable and firm with soft linens and plenty of pillows. The hotel has a lounge area where people would gather to play cards, talk, or read which meant that when the weather was rainy, we had another room to go to while housekeeping was caring for ours. This lounge area also had a coffee machine which made cappuccinos, which my husband loved! The workout room also was a plus and my husband used it during our stay. The hotel has an arrangement with a lot nearby which gave us in-out privileges during our stay.  If I ever have the chance to return to Quebec City, I would stay here again. 

Lovely Hotel. Great Staff. Thoughtful Attention to Details.

This is an excellent hotel for visits to Quebec City. The room was clean, comfy, and well equipped. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the hotel is located on a quaint street in an older part of the city with plenty of shops and restaurants. We highly recommend the Hotel du Vieux-Quebec.
