When looking for a place to stay in Quebec City, we were trying to find somewhere in or close to Vieux Quebec.  Manoir Mon Calme is conveniently located only a 10-15 minute walk from major attractions like the Citadelle and Vieux Quebec.  There is a small parking area behind the bed and breakfast, so we could keep the car off of the main street.  It is small though - if you have a large SUV, fitting the parking area might be a problem.

The room we had was very spacious and had a nice view of the main street below us.  The wall adjacent to us was thin and we could hear the neighbors a little, but fortunately they were not too loud.  The room included desks and a television, and the bed was comfortable.  Breakfast was pretty good too - fruit and a croissant, with freshly-made eggs.  Things like toast, cereal, and coffee/tea are also available.

One minor issue we had is that the WiFi does not work very well.  This was not a big deal for us, but it was a little inconvenient when we wanted to look up things to do for the day on our phones.  There is a computer available downstairs that guests can use, though we did not need to use it.

Overall this was a very nice experience.  The house is nice and the location is quite good.  I would recommend this bed and breakfast if you are staying in Quebec City.

Cute and convenient

My bf had made reservations for 5 of us to spend a family night in Qc city.  This is not our first time there and definitely not our first time using expedia.

GOOD:
While Jean-Philippe is not physically available, he is on the other end of the telephone line.
The room be had was in the attic, it was clean (4 stars), it was great for spooky stories and a single night there.  The breakfast was good too: freshly cooked eggs, good croissant, cereal, cheese, coffee, toast and some fruits.  We were served by a very kind lady.  It made it difficult to ask for seconds and 2 of our group members left still hungry.  The parking is good but on first come first served basis.  The total with taxes in about $18 for P.

OK:
The 3 floor house was clean, but some of the things need a little bit of maintenance, e.g. scotch tape on doors, dated (not vintage) looking bathroom, odd choice of bedding...
The room in the attic does not have a mini fridge and the water cooler was empty.  We did not want to wake up J-P at night and therefore took an unopened bottle from the basement and brought it to our room to have water.  

NOT GREAT:
The wine glasses in the room need to be thrown out.  There are permanent (what looks like) lipstick stains.... it felt very odd to drink out of those.

The room in the attic which comes with 2 queen beds and a double was offered on expedia at $99/night.  Only AFTER booking, my bf received an e-mail telling him there is an additional $99 fee for an extra person.  We noticed this only once we arrived in Qc, went on expedia to see if we had not noticed the additional fee or if the room was for 4 people to begin with,... No and No!
I ask J-P about this and tells me it is not his fault, that expedia needs to fix how it presents information to people. (I have already complained to expedia about their false advertisement). In total we paid about $250 for a single room....  Technically, we could have reserved 2 rooms for that price and had more privacy AND an extra bathroom and shower.... Also, our 2 separate rooms would not have had extremely low ceilings and none of us 5 would have hit our heads when walking around the room...disappointing to have paid so much for this room...

Great except for a bad surprise ($)

This "B&B" meets the bare minimum. It is a big house with nobody present most of the time. The location is good, the bed was way too hard (backaches for both of us), the breakfast meets the minimum requirements, the Wi-Fi didn't work at all (until I found the router in the basement and rebooted it myself), and the 3 parking spots ($15/night) were covered with deep ice and was very dangerous (a lawsuit waiting to happen if you ask me). In the winter, they have some cheap vinyl duct taped on the floors to protect the floors (which I get as a concept, just a cheap-low-quality-lack-of-detail approach). The ratings of this establishment do not match the experience. This is a "you get what you pay for" scenario.

Barely Average

Our stay at the hotel was a mix of misunderstandings. We had booked the service counting on having a parking slot available. Getting it was just a matter of luck, since the number of guests can be higher than the number of slots available for parking (in the rear of the house, with limited space for parking manouvres, especially with snow/ice). Just when we arrived to the B&B the owner was not there to welcome us. Instead, we had to call a number with a phone located at the entrance in order to contact him. Once on the telephone, he gave us the instructions to access our room, as if the experience was a riddle game. The cold water tap in the shower was not working, so we had inferno showers in the morning. Breakfast was correct but hosts were not very welcoming. In general, this is an average B&B, suitable for a one-night stay.

Surprises

Enjoyed staying in a large room with a tall ceiling on the main floor. We arrived after 6pm, but were able to easily call the owner who instructed us about our room. The location is very close to the Plains of Abraham park, and a short walk to Old Quebec. Because of the low season, we didn't see the other guests. Things to improve were pillows not so comfortable, and the bed too bouncy.


Nice old building and good location

We were in a main floor room next to the breakfast area. It was clean and quiet. It was very cold outside so we had to increase the heat to compensate (thermostats were in the room and bathroom). There are slippers at the front/back door to keep your feet warm. Breakfast was good. We were lucky enough to get one of the 3 parking spots at the back (($15). It's steps from the Plains of Abraham and old Quebec city.
