Great location in old Quebec City, within walking distance to everything! We stayed 4 nights and the beds and pillows were comfortable and the host recommended several several restaurants nearby that were locally owned and served traditional food. 

Comfortable stay

The lady who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. She then showed us to our room, which was out the shop front door and right, past the next shop and into an alley. In this alley were all the trash bins for the nearby restaurants. Our room was in the converted out house next to this alley on the ground floor. The room was very tatty and in need of updating into the 20th century. Every night, late and early morning the bins were moved noisily outside our window. The staircase to the upper floors went past our front door. Creaky floorboards and paper thin walls to the stairwell and the floors above added to the extra noise. The one positive is the location in the upper old town. For £150 a night this is a poor choice.

Great location -Very basic hotel. Staff is great. Entrance to the rooms are through an ally where garbage cans are placed. Rooms only clean upon request. Very basic amenities. Not recommended for long stays. The building is old as typical from old quebec. There was some issues with the pipes in the bath.

Great location— very basic accommodation - cost - value (!)

Typical small hotel in Old Quebec above a store that works as a reception. The room with private bath on the corridor is not more or less what should expect in the old building. Well located, the distance to Frontenac is a few walking minutes.

This hotel is a great option. It is very basic, nothing fancy... but it is a great value. It is clean,  safe, quiet, perfectly located,  and fairly priced. There is garage parking available for an additional $15 CAN per day. It is not adjacent, but a few blocks away. I found that very convenient. 

Great option inside the old city

Okay, this review is not about a hotel in Orlando, San Francisco, Cabo, or Phoenix.  We wanted the REAL Old Quebec experience, and we got it. That meant an interesting drive just getting TO this inn, as it was opening day of Winter Carnaval and many streets were either blocked off or flooded with tourists.  But we picked our way through the narrow, snowy streets.  And every one around us was in a good mood, so we were too. Fortunately, there’s a fairly-wide drive way across the street from the inn, and our hostess told me to pull in there. (I don’t know how some of the other small inns in old QC can handle unloading....the streets are narrow and there are very few driveways like this one). Unloaded the family and luggage, then got my parking voucher and parked in the municipal garage at city hall, a wonderful 10 minute walk away. Okay——so you check in at the shop on the ground floor. That’s classic Old Quebec!  Upstairs to the huge family room with two queen beds. It stretches from front of building to back. It’s a fantastic,1850 inn. It hasn’t been bastardized. Is it perfect and pristine?? I said 1850!  Of course it’s not.  But we loved it.  (And the bathroom HAS been nicely modernized, with two sinks and an awesome shower.) It was very clean, and the beds were great. Three biggest things: awesome location, in the very heart of the Old Upper City.  We could easily walk to everything, including the parade....and considering that it was a very cold evening, we were very happy to back at the inn after a five minute walk. Second, all the staff spoke excellent English (and tolerated my French.....). Lyne was awesome to talk to and is so nice.  Finally, we were stopped from getting there our first night, due to a raging blizzard (we almost made it, but the Trans Canada was closed at 4 pm). When we called Lyne, she had every right to charge us for that night anyway, but she graciously did not. Class act. Sa coche! (As for price, we paid about $200, but that was about $50 more than usual due to Carnaval....which was totally reasonable). We will be back in the summer and will stay at this little gem. (If you want a place that’s just like every Courtyard by Marriot in any city, this is not the hotel for you....)

Fantastic Old Quebec experience

This hotel is ideally located for the Carnaval festivities we attended. It has the bare necessities. Room is very dated but clean. However, if travelling in winter, be sure to bring WARM pyjamas. The room was freezing and there is no thermostat we could have adjusted.

Bare basics and cold

We stayed two nights, I think the hotel needs an urgent refurbishment. It's expensive for the facilities it has, the room that touched us had the entrance to a parking lot, careless, my friends' room had a very narrow and hollow staircase. Something rescuable is the kindness of the reception girl. The hotel doesn't have a reception, you'll be welcomed into a souvenir shop that's on the ground floor, no parking, if you have to pay separately. It's a shame that a wonderful location isn't refurbished.

The best location!!!

Very good note given for its perfect location. Hotel rue Saint-Louis with a more than perfect very central location 6min from the Château de Frontenac and the funicular on foot.If you're driving with the hotel makes you enjoy the seven-minute walk from the Hotel de Ville parking lot 15€ a day and which gives you access to a day's excursion which is still very comfortable. Very friendly home as it should be in the Quebec area. So here's for the conveniences. We had room No. 28 on the third floor and last without elevator with a narrow staircase; so access that can be rather complicated following your mobility or if you're with a small child in a second room was a pretty big neighborhood with a very simple note note. It was really not a very simple time of the day, but we had a chance to talk about the bathroom, but when you were in the bathroom, we all tried to be very comfortable and the toilet seat was very nice.

To prefer for its perfect location even if it makes concessions

Very nice hotel in old Quebec close to all the shops and many restaurants. very clean room. you should know that the parking is not directly at the hotel, you will have to park your car in a free public parking a little further
