We loved our stay at the Big Blow.  It is beautifully situated in Quirpon and has a fabulous view.  Our suite had a separate entrance and was well furnished.  The bed was incredibly comfortable.  We enjoyed the breakfast and the warm hospitality.  We look forward to returning.

A first rate B&B near Lance aux Meadows

Stayed at the Tannery in Dungarvan. The accommodation was only average. Found the room small, but spotless and staff fab. Very disappointed with the breakfast as found it greasy and not a lot of choice. Breakfast staff were really friendly and very efficient.

A night away

I'm a bit late with my review. We stayed at the Big Blow in late July. Cheryl and Wayne treated us like old friends. Most remarkable was the breakfast experience: Wayne played guitar while singing songs to us, and Cheryl provided the best coffee in probably all of Newfoundland. Also, they made certain that nobody stood up hungry from that breakfast table. 

Our room was spacious and clean, amply equipped and quiet. We were very happy with our choice. 

We got very good advice from the owners on what to do in the area; they referred us to hiking trails, restaurants and other activities, all of it uncomplicated and forthcoming. 

At the end we'd forgotten to hand back the key, so we had to send it by mail from Norris Point - sorry again for that, Wayne...

We would stay at the Big Blow anytime again.

The best choice on our trip

The Big Blow was our chosen place to stay when after 30 years of planning we finally made it to L'anse aux Meadows. Waynw is the perfect host , energetic, talkative, experienced in many jobs, places and wild experiences. It shows in his friendliness and music, which takes only a little encouragement to get him started. Our room with a partial view of the bay out back of the B and B was clean and comfortable with large private bath and king bed. Breakfasts for our two day stay were always a  social event with Wayne cooking , telling stories and entertaining the guests. Not to be missed is the made to order coffee service from his wife Cheryl's bistro machine.  The views from the back deck are wonderful. Wayne's directions to all the places we visited locally were spot on. Restaurant recommendations were great. 
Of special note are the after breakfast concerts Wayne gives in the mornings. So glad we picked up one of his dvds which we remind us of the scenery and his great songs.

30 years in the making.

Wow, we had a wonderful stay,  a gorgeous room with an incredible view. Wayne and Cheryl were the best hosts who provided a friendly homemade breakfast.  They included so many special touches such as luxurious robes, homemade muffins and sightseeing suggestions I cannot remember them all..  We were truly blessed to spend time in this unique, remote and kind part of the world.

Incredible location, friendly owners, and perfect setting

To arrive at a location that feels a bit like the end of the world and then find a place like the Big Blow Bed & Breakfast.  The owners, Wayne and Cheryl, have built a beautiful spot.  Well designed and very well constructed.  They have thought of everything.  The rooms were very spacious and comfortable.  There's a great common area that is perfect place to hang out and interact with the engaging hosts and other guests.  The breakfasts were delicious and bountiful. Wayne and Cheryl are also a great source of information on things to do and see while you're in the area.  Just a memorable spot.

What a Surprise

At our last stop on my family’s trip to Newfoundland, The Big Blow B&B did not disappoint. I had to share a room with my sister, which meant that I got the pull-out couch in our wonderful downstairs room. The plush linens and pillows made the couch bed more than manageable, and my sister slept like a baby in the king bed. Our bathroom was fully equipped with high-quality amenities for the beautiful shower and his/her sinks. We didn’t use the whirlpool bathtub but it looked like quite the tub. Heated floors were a plus too.

Even though the room was nice, the highlight of our stay was the amazing treatment from the hosts. Breakfast each morning included a full, home cooked meal in the picturesque kitchen, and a great conversation with the hosts and other visitors. We even got the pleasure of being serenaded one morning with lovely original Newfoundland music. Both of the hosts were a pleasure to talk to and really made us feel like we were staying in a real home. If you’re visiting the l’Anse aux Meadows or St. Anthony’s area, this spot is absolutely perfect for a stay.

Beautiful place and wonderful hosts

Probably the best bed I've slept in at a B&B.  The owners are gracious and friendly and we enjoyed our stay there.  Really a nicely done place and I'd recommend it without reservation. Breakfast was great.  Plus, the house looks out over the harbor--when the fog rolls in (as it inevitably does), it makes for a peaceful stay.

Almost like home

My wife and I arrived here in Quirpon, in the northern tip of Newfoundland, and were totally blown away by the location and quality of this B&B - overlooking the harbour of a quaint fishing village.  Our hosts - Wayne and Cheryl - were amazing themselves, and kept us entertained and informed about the area, which allowed us to spend three full days seeing the sights and experiencing the history of the surrounding area.  Our room was modern, extremely well furnished and equipped, private and very comfortable.  In our last day there, we saw two amazing sights within 5 minutes... the last large iceberg of the season, and a male moose at the side of the same road - two minutes later!  We would HIGHLY recommend the Big Blow B&B for anyone venturing to the far north of this province... it is worth the journey!
