The for: very clean room. Dinner at the spaghetti house waiting at the inn is worth the detour. Generous portions and very good taste. The downside: no one is available until 4:00 p.m. No reception on site, only one person can be reached by phone after 4:00 p.m. The key was supposed to be in the mailbox of the restaurant but there was no one. We had to spend 15 minutes at the restaurant to get it. Since we ate at the Italian restaurant we were able to leave our vehicle in their parking lot but none is available to others. Our room door has already been unlocked and repaired with 4 screws. The mattress is very nice if anyone likes it. Two old French dresses and no Italian woman were waiting for it but there were no wifi flags on the floor.

Not the best hostel we've ever been to.

Fast-forward home. Payment and key and enough. Well-equipped room overlooking the street so noisy. TV + internet functional. No breakfast but there is a coffee machine. Very comfortable bunk. Shared bathroom. I didn't know how to run the shower??? I should have made another choice.

Old hostel in a noisy neighborhood

The hotel offers a good price ratio. Less than $100 per night explains the fact that the 4 bedrooms should share 3 bathrooms. But the place is super comfortable. Moreover it is located above a pub and the spaghetti house. Two interesting restaurants. The highlight of our rental is the personalized, courteous and thoughtful service of the one who booked us. She sent us a Texto before we arrived and she comes to us to make sure that everything is to our taste.

It's cheap with hard work.

We spent two nights at the Auberge of the old house in Rimouski. Adrianna who runs the hostel is very welcoming and accommodating. The rooms and bathrooms outside the room are very clean. We have access to a mini-kitchen (microwave fridge, tea and coffee...) which was enough to accommodate our stays.

Acceptable

We had a reservation on the 6th and 7th of August 2018. When we arrived there was a note in the door saying that it would close on the 6th and 7th of August. For our part, if we had to cancel our reservation we had to do it 48 hours in advance. We would have appreciated if someone called us to inform us that it was closed. It was impossible to talk to the owner by phone. Many facilities are complete. We searched for a long time and had to take what was left. We do not recommend this hostel for this reason.

A small hostel with potential, well located, but 1) no hot water last night or this morning! This problem was also reported 3 days ago! 2) no one on site night and morning, not safe if you don't have a cell phone. 3) Since there is also an outside door to the room, we should be given 1 key per person.

Potential for Improvement

Unfortunately, I can't give you an average because I haven't slept all night. The bunk wasn't really top and we could hear all the neighbors all night long. Despite all this hassle, the bedrooms are old but clean, the common bathrooms too. Each room has the toiletries: soap, shampoo and wipes. A restaurant and bar are adjacent to the hostel that offers some convenience, as well as the free wifi available. Hostel at the excellent price ratio but where I nevertheless had a bad experience in terms of quality of sleep... to defend the hostel, it was definitely from the holidays of the day.

The quality of the hostel is unbeatable.

Positive: the cleanliness, the sealing of the hostel and its geographical location (in the city centre), free parking and no prior reservation, free Wi-Fi is available throughout the establishment. Negative: smaller room than in the photos, no air conditioning, our window on the roof and a kind of kitchen fan. Very small TV.

Nice hostel.

No air conditioning and it's hot in July in Rimouski. The rooms on the street are very noisy. There are parties until 3:00 a.m. and then at 4:30, there are trucks for street maintenance. Bring your locks. The bathroom is outside the rooms, in the hallway. It's clean and the reception is warm. It's downtown, restaurant in front and bar next door.
