Last minute stay.  Friendly owner.  Speaks French

Great for a night

My family & I stayed at this hotel for one night on 17th July'24 and must say it was a very unpleasant experience for us. The Furniture, floor mats & washroom was smelling of a strong odour. We informed the lady (chinese) at the reception, who was very courteous and tried to help by giving us a spray to remove the odour. Unfortunately she could not do much as the cleaning staff had already left for the day. We had no choice but to stay there as we had to leave the next morning  to continue our journey. We are definately not going back to this hotel as the maintanence and cleanliness is at its lowest level.

Terrible experience

We were pleasantly surprised by the room we had at   Motel au Vieux Piloteux. After searching for a overnight hotel room and finding everything booked we “settled” on   Motel au Vieux Piloteux. I am so glad we found this hotel/motel at a reasonable price. We were a little sceptical when we saw it, but our room surpassed expectations. We had room 26 on the second floor. The bathroom was beautifully renovated and room was modern, well appointed, clean with two extremely comfortable queen beds. This room rivalled a 4 or 5 star hotel room.

Great overnight stay, reasonably priced for a renovated room with all the amenities of a higher priced hotel.

I do have a favourite place to stay in RdL, and a second favourite, but both were booked so I picked Au Vieux Piloteux on my sister's recommendation after she stayed there last year.

It's a very basic motel, not very expensive, and they allow pets which is what I need. The rooms are quite small compared to other places but it was clean and comfortable and had everything I needed. Rooms have a double bed, TV, Keurig, mini-fridge, microwave, window AC, and a small ironing board.

On arrival the service was quick and polite. I had no issues with my stay and had a good sleep with no noises loud enough to wake me. I'd definitely stay there again. My rate was under $150 taxes in, including an extra fee for my dog. Not bad when the Comfort Inn I tried to book in another city is gouging people for $300/night.

Pleasantly surprised

check in was wonderful, very friendly and helpful, room was a bit outdated but was clean and comfortable and that's what counts in my book, close to business area and plenty of restaurants nearby, I will stay here again

great little place

Favourite place to stay was all booked & because we had left our booking til too late we settled at this motel. 
The room was small, dated, the furnishing tired. The bathroom looked totally original. I was hoping the night would pass quickly so we could get back out on the road. 
 The person at the desk was cold & unwelcoming, i asked him for some morning coffee for the Keurig & he seemed to begrudge giving me any. 
In the am the person showering in the next room sounded like they were in our bathroom. 
We chose this place cause of the price, it was comparable to our preferred motel down the road but the only similarity is they are single storey motels. 
Strangely the following day on the Ferry crossing we noticed an advertisement board & there it was, this hotel. The interior pics looked nothing like the room we’d had.

Avoid Staying Here

We typically stay at this private motel enroute to Ontario from PEI.  About half way.   Pet friendly room is small but they are always clean and comfortable. Quiet location and rooms are motel style with exterior doors which are great for pets.   Carlos is helpful and considerate.  

Always stay here

We were looking for an overnight place before starting the Petit-Témis bike ride to Edmundston NB. Most hotels were either full or, in my opinion, way overpriced, so I chose Au Vieux Piloteux. Glad I did. 
It is a motel so it is quaint but there is an attention to details that shows the pride of  the owners in their establishment. Plus it is soooo clean, I didn't even mind the carpet. Brand new looking bathroom too. Small fridge and microwave, great tv and Keurig coffee. Great funky pool I would've used had the weather been warmer.
Plus we were greated with such kindness and friendliness you can't help but stay with a great souvenir of this place.

Great little motel

Lovely place. Large modern rooms. Walking distance to just about any food that you'd like. Only stayed one night but would definitely stay again for longer 
Outside pool, some of the rooms have a small balcony.

Pleased

On our way to PEI, we spent our 1st night here.  The hotel is lovely and appears to be recently renovated.   It has many modern amenities such as a beautiful rain shower and updated a.c. in the room.  The price was moderate but considering it doesn't include breakfast, it runs on the pricey side.  There's a view of the river from the front units.   There's a pool too but we didn't use it.
