I stayed at the Loupi Motel with my young son and my mother and we had a lot of fun! Large room (two double beds as well as accommodation for an extra bed for my son), with a sublime view of the river. Very clean and the kitchen is well equipped with the necessary (small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker) for our picnic meals! There is a large balcony that allows us to contemplate the river while drinking our morning coffee! In addition, there is a very nice playground for the little ones and a gas booth to dine on while enjoying the view.... not to mention a super garden! Near the ferry and the old town. Stay charming

Best sleeps of our vacation. Firm beds, great linens. Found this gem on the way, to East Coast, and chose there on our return. Excellent friendly check-in, family owned, super clean, cold mini-fridge, and working microwave.
Bathroom was spotless. Owner also showed me 2 new suites/familyrooms that looked terrific.
Would also be great for a longer stay.
Lots of all you need in a room, but then the gardens.... beautifully landscaped, lovely views. With your provided in room coffee, you can stroll these incredible perennial/ vegetable gardens., have a comfortable seat in one of the many sitting areas, including an all glass gazebo.
Balcony has clear inserts so you have an unobstructed view of River and town and pine trees. Excellent value. After speaking with one of the owners, Luc, we are going to plan a trip to Riviere du Loup, and use Motel Loupi as our base. What a great find.

Best sleeps of our Vacation, super clean

This is our third visit here. We love the friendly owner. He makes us feel like family when we arrive. We got a room with one of the best views and enjoyed the relaxing vista once the weather cleared up. 
The room was spacious and clean . Lots of seating and places to put your stuff. Shower had good pressure and lots of hot water. Bed was cozy for two and although we prefer a softer bed we slept well There is a microwave and coffee machine we didn't use. There is also a tv and fridge. 
Riviera du looped is a cute town and is worth your explorations. Can't wait to come back

Gem with a view

Even though we stayed at the Motel Loupis as a pit stop on a trip from Ottawa to Halifax, we would definitely return!!   Excellent value and customer service!! Spacious room, sparkling clean bathroom, comfy beds, breathtaking view and gorgeous gardens/grounds. Thank you!

Recommended and will definitely return

We all loved the unusual exterior, the beautiful gardens, outside seating areas and of course the great views from this motel.  Our room was tastefully done in a casual but comfortable decor. There was a microwave and fridge, TV, etc. The bathroom had beautiful and unusual blue & white ceramic tiles. My only criticism would be the window curtains (not full enough to cover the window properly) and the lack of extra pillows. But we’ll definitely return.

Loved it here!

Our room appears to have been renovated in the last year or so. It’s simple, nothing fancy. It’s bright and nicely decorated. It has all you need for a short stay: small table and two chairs, love seat, microwave, bar fridge. There are enough outlets or extension cords to plug in two devices (one on each side of the bed) and there is a side table on each side of the bed. We had a one-bed bedroom. My only dislike is that the bed was a double, not a queen (especially since there is enough room for a bigger bed). They don’t have A/C in any of the rooms but there was a medium fan on a stand in our room. We didn’t need A/C or the fan as there was a cool breeze coming from the St-Lawrence River. The owner was very friendly and also quick to act when there was an issue. When we reported a problem with the TV in our room (there was a problem with the colours), he changed the TV while we were out to diner - even though we could still watch the TV. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and I would stay here again.

Nice and bright + Good value

It’s a family favourite! Great location, clean, large rooms, lots of towels and just off of the highway. My kids always ask to come back when we’re heading to the maritime’s or the Gaspé. We’ll be back for sure! 

Love this place. 

Every year for the last 7 years, my family has driven from Montreal to Halifax. I have two young children ages 4 and 7. I want to say the response to the complaint below is bang on. This place isn’t full of amenities like a big hotel and it is perfect (and clean) just the way it is. The man has accommodated us through every stage of having children never once forgetting to set up a crib. He has even brought my children to the garden and given us huge zucchinis while we drink coffee. This is a place I look forward to every year!

A Family Favourite

The rooms are spacious and have a balcony overlooking the St. Lawrence River, well equipped with microwave, coffee machine and refrigerator.

We stayed the evening of August 24/18 on our way to PEI.  

I booked the room over the phone while travelling through Toronto and it took awhile to reserve the room because it took so long time for them to find a pen so right off the bat I had some concerns about this independent motel (however, I didn't need to be concerned because we really enjoyed our stay at the motel). When we finally rolled into Riviere-du-Loup, the check-in was very efficient. The owner spoke excellent English and was very friendly. 
  
The room was a nice size and newly renovated.  It was one of the cleanest motel (and even hotel) rooms I have stayed at. Being able to parking outside of the room is very convenient. The beds were comfortable and the wifi was good. The room had a nice view of the water from the back walkway/balcony. They get a lot of English TV channels. There are some really nice gardens on the grounds.

The motel is not too far off of the highway and was quiet with no road noise. There is no breakfast at this motel but there is a Tim Hortons not too far of a drive away. There is no air conditioning but I think Riviere-du-Loup is cooler (than Ontario) because it is on the water. 

I was very impressed by this independent motel and would definitely stay here again.  Reasonably priced.
