I was there with my Maritime colleagues. It was a great location, good food and a nice pub, with atmosphere and local music. I will be back and will definately stay here again. Friendly service, good food and nice amenities.  Staff were helpful in all ways. I had an early flight from Deer Lake and they provided a box breakfast for me, made sure that I had a wake up call and ensured that the Taxi was there.

A great place to Stay

We stayed in the annex second floor room 307, which is updated and clean. The view is lovely and all associates are welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed wonderful breakfasts and a delicious dinner at the hotel restaurant. If ever we return to Rocky Harbour, we would definitely stay here.

Wonderful stay in Rocky Harbour

Lovely little hotel that is centrally located. It had a restaurant and pub on site and within a minutes walk there are some cute gift shops, places to eat and liquor store that also has some groceries (more like snacks). Nice little deck to sit and watch the sun set. Quiet even though busy. Rooms are new, modern and comfy. Staff were friendly and helpful. Pleasantly surprised and if I was in the area would come back.

We spent two nights in the Ocean View Hotel in Rocky Harbour while exploring Gros Morne.  It made a good central point for exploring Gros Morne and was quite central to Rocky Harbour as well.  We ate in the pub for two meals - once in and once for takeout.  Both times the food was generous and tasty.  We also did one meal in the restaurant with a good view of the harbour.  The room was very spacious and comfortable.  While we did not opt for an Ocean View room, it was a short walk to get out to the harbour.

We moved on to this hotel from one down the road, glad we did. 
Staff were so welcoming and friendly couldn’t have been more helpful in finding the right room for us.  We stayed in the annex in a spacious, very comfortable room with balcony. 
Go to the music events in this hotel too, we so enjoyed them. 
I’m near the end of our travels in Canada now but look back positively on our stay here. Hence writing to this review to firstly praise the hotel but also to help others when looking at various options when travelling.  Book here!

A very welcoming, friendly place to stay in Rocky Hsrbour

This is the largest hotel/inn in the region and as such has much to offer. It is located in the heart of Rocky Harbour with fantastic views. There is a pub, which has music several nights of the week, and a full up-scale dining room on the second floor with views of the ocean through its big windows.
The one downside is that the pub does not allow minors in for the music shows, which really is dumb given it does offer food in addition to the liquor. Not different than the dining room upstairs!  This blocks adults, with children, from seeing the show, which is supposed to be great. (a law needing to be updated for the modern world)
Anyway, the dining room on the second floor is great. Super food, great selection of Newfoundland and international dishes, all prepared excellently.
The service in the dining room was amazing. There was one server, Jean Payne, who was just outstanding. She typified the friendly and helpful Newfoundland character. She went to extra lengths to get special food for our son, who can be a picky eater! Toured him through the kitchen and even brought him special meals for breakfast. Amazing person.
The owner was also especially friendly and went out of his way to talk to us and make us feel welcome.
The rooms were basic but have everything you would want - fridge, tv, air. 
Make sure you request a view of the bay and preferrable on the second floor.

The best place to stay while visiting the Grosse Morne Park area

We stayed here two separate nights (going North then coming back South on the Viking Trail) with both nights in the new annex, which were a little more expensive than other rooms.   Our rooms were very nice and had a very good view of the harbor.  The weather cooperated, so we had great sunsets both times.  We were using this mainly as a stopover en route, but it seems like it would be a great location for exploring Gros Morne and the general area.

Due to timing and our schedule, we ate at the restaurant for several meals and they were generally all good with reasonable service and good food, although they were a bit on the expensive side for what is provided.  We did not attend any of the shows or the bar/pub downstairs.  There were bus tours staying at the hotel both times we were there, but we had lucky timing in that we weren't overlapping with them in eating, checking in, etc.

I would definitely recommend staying here (particularly in the newer annex) due to the location.

Great central location

Very welcoming staff. Entire place is very well maintained. The rooms are nice, the beds are very comfortable. The towels are soft and thick. The restaurant was very good. Situated just across the waterfront with the beach being accessible by stairs. Nice place to see sunset

Wonderful experience

The Hotel is situated in the centre of Rocky Harbour and has a great view of the ocean. It is clean with comfortable beds and the convenience of a Restaurant on site. The bar has good entertainment and the entire establishment offers great service.

A great place to rest, eat and have a drink.

This was a brilliant stay in Rocky Harbour! 

Very clean and comfortable room, very spacious and lovely individually wrapped toiletries provided! 

In the evening we went to the Newfie Kitchen Party for evening entertainment and it was fantastic with lots of dancing, opportunity for stand up comedy and audience to take a turn singing themselves if desired and Newfoundland songs with the ugly stick! 

The staff were very kind which made for a welcoming visit. 

Would of course highly recommend.
