We stayed here during 2 nights this summer, as we intended to visit the nearby National Park. The rooms were spacious and clean, though a bit basic. The hospitality of the staff was amazing! Breakfast and supper were outstanding. Definitely a place I would return to.

Amazing


This small auberge (2 floors) is at the lake front. In winter this auberge is used as a chalet. The view of the lake can only be enjoyed through balcony or sitting on the lawn. It is not easy task to ride on a boat or on a canoe.
Room for us was on the 1st floor, with min. furniture and included a balcony with lake view. We paid $20/ per night extra for the lake view. Room was very small with a very small shower room (with sink) and a tiny toilet without any sink. Both (toilet & shower) were provided with common switches for both lighting as well as ventilation. The noise from the ventilating fan was unbearable. 
Auberge don’t provide free water bottle. There is no telephone in the room. Internet service is provided.
There is no employee of the auberge at night or in the afternoon (after breakfast time and before supper). So, securty/safety for clients is not a top priority for this establishment.
 Breakfast provided was very good. Dishes for supper on one night were cold and we had to ask for reheating.
There are few choices on the menu for supper. There is no menu for breakfast. There is no service for lunch.
Prices (for 2) for two nights including breakfast,supper,taxes & tips $534/.
We had 2 guests for supper only. We were charged extra $97/ including taxes and tips.
Parking facility is on the property of the establishment

Not so good auberge but good as chalet

We stayed here for only one night. I wish we had planned to stay longer. It was a very good place to stay. Very convenient location for visiting the national park. The room was very clean and spacious with beautiful decorations. The lake view from the big balcony was fantastic. The property is very well kept. You can stroll to the lake shore. Very friendly check-in and check-out. 
The restaurant is very nice too with a beautiful view to the lake. We had dinner and breakfast here. The food was very good. The breakfast was buffet style and had a lot of choice and was very good.

A very beautiful and quiet place to stay

We spent one night in the all equiped  'chalet' next to the hotel. The main room bed was so comfortable; restroom was small and clean, as well as the kitchen and beautiful windows in the living room.Nice intimacy.  From the lobby of the hotel you can see the dining room, with panoramic view of the lake. Gorgeous!  We had dinner and it was really delicious (4 services) as well as the breakfast Crèpes, maple syrup, raspberry jams, cereals. As the weather was a little bit cold, we did not try the canoe neither the spa was closed.

Wonderful place

We spent two night in this hotel to visit the National park de la Mauricie. 
The hotel is nice, clean and warm. The view from the hotel is superb, with the lake that is just next to the windows. 
Our room was very spacious and quite. 
We also had dinner and it was really good.

Very nice place

we had a very enjoyable stay at Auberge St Mathieu du Lac - the site is awesome : main room looks onto a lake - Breakfast was copious and good. Our hosts were so nice giving great advice and having us.
Our family room was spacious and very quiet at night.  you can borrow the canoes to explore the lake. Kids enjoyed that.
