Do NOT stay here unless u only want a bed to sleep in.  We stayed 2 nights.  No one made our beds, emptied our trash, cleaned the room or bathroom.  We had to ask for two more towels.  The outside of the building is deceiving.  It is very pretty until u look around & notice the lawn is not mowed & the flower beds are full of weeds.  The ancient television from last century do not work.  Most of the lights in the halls were not working so it was very dark, difficult to see your way to the elevator & your room.  A huge disappointment!

Disappointing

Yes, the hotel is grandiose.  Yes, the owner is pleasant.  Yes, it is somewhat clean.  Here it all ends.  I booked through Booking.com and it said Restaurant on premises.  No there is not. Not even within walking distance. Not even a cup of coffee available.  It did have a pool but the pool was green.  The grounds have not been maintained in years and everything is overgrown.  It reminded me of the Addams Family house.  There are signs the declare No Alcohol allowed on premises!   But the absolute worse thing was the smell!  OMG it was horrendous!  Then to make matters worse, when I opened the window to get fresh air the screen was covered with hundreds of dead flies.  I think they died trying to escape!
This hotel makes you pay upon booking with no chance of a refund.  Now you know why!  We could not afford to leave!

Lesson learnt - Don't believe all reviews

Greeted by Marian Stastny who made us feel very welcome. European flavor to this boutique hotel. Very comfortable and quiet. Not far from a good selection of eating sources. Not too far from the bridge access to Quebec City and reasonable priced.

Stop over near Quebec City

On our way to Charlevoix this past weekend decided to stay at this Hotel, sure glad we did,nice quiet Hotel, lovely grounds. Nice, simple room. Mr Stastny was there himself to greet us. It's just off of the highway, so easy to get  to it and easy to leave. We are planning on going back to Charlevoix next year and will be definetly be stopping in at this hotel both going and returning. I would recommend if you need a place to sleep while driving through. We stayed in Room # 5 and never in my life have I ever seen Water Pressure to strong. Was a bonus when we had our showers :)

Great Place to stay if your stopping over night

The hotel is slightly off the beaten track, located just outside of Quebec City. The grounds are beautiful, and the architecture of the hotel is reminiscent of the Spanish colonial revivalist style. The interior is tastefully furnished, with circa 19th century period pieces and wall paintings that lend a certain Euro charm to the surroundings. The guest rooms are spacious, and the bathrooms are clean and well appointed.

I was truly amazed that Mr. Stastny, the legendary hockey player, himself was there to greet us upon our arrival, and he proved to be an extremely kind and warm individual. 

For coffee in the morning, there is a Timmy's and the more upscale ES Café only a couple of minutes away in the town's commercial district.

Very comfortable and quiet stay. Highly recommended.
