The hotel is designed for snowmobilers, yet we went there in the low summer season to enjoy the lake and the surrounding forests with lots of wild berries.
In this period of the year, Le Cabanon offers a family-friendly environment at quite reasonable prices. Unsurprisingly, the visitors are mostly parents with young kids, especially during the weekends, and retired couples.

The hotel is excellently located, right on the lake with its own beach (plus swimming pool and jacuzzi). Plenty of water-sport equipement is available for free, plus a boat excursion across the lake included in the price (might not be available on all days, though). Rooms are clean with furniture that might look a bit old, but is well preserved and functional. Those with a lake view are in better shape. On the service side, we could feel the lack of staff on some days (admittedly, they have difficulties hiring). Nevertheless, the overall service was up to our expectations. Beside the boat excursion, we particularly appreciated the beach fire Denis, the owner, organized for hotel's guests.

Food in the restaurant is standard and the choice rather limited, yet we found our dishes tasted quite good. The prices were OK. 

On the reverse side, not much to complain about. Safe one thing: The main equipment in the WC looks like designed for hobbits rahter than for Homo sapiens ;-)

All in all, we enjoyed our stay and hope to go there again soon.

Nice first experience in the area

Excellent time at Le Cabanon. The hotel is in a perfect location for snowmobiling and caters to snowmobilers. This location is extremely secure, they man a post where vehicles and trailers are stored and snowmobiles are corralled in a specific area near the hotel monitored by video cameras and locked up. Le Cabanon is a perfect spot to start heading in any direction located near trail 63 and 23 and many sub trails. The hotel food is great and average prices. Definitely would recommend them and stay here again.

Snowmobiling Paradise 

Great for snowmobiling and ATV in summer Food is good. Is not a marriott Has pool, hot tub, and resturant on site Owners are there run the place very nice people and hard workers. Have stayed here for over 20 years as we go here every year

Snowmobile

Spent 4 days at this resort for the 2nd time and again had a great vacation. The accommodations, the food, and the snow were all what we expected them to be. Reserved the snowmobile package which includes breakfast and dinner in the price. If you want to sled with 100+ mile pristine trails in all directions, here’s the place to be in Quebec.

Snowmobile Trip

Great place to hang your hat for a few days and enjoy the great hospitality on every aspect to sledding. The groomers are based out of here so you always know first had what is going on out on the trails. Many different locations to head to on different days. The hotel is not the fanciest but it is very clean and functional. Food in the dining room is great and there is a assortment of dishes to choose from. Very good quality and service is great. There is a pool and hot tub there although I didn't use it, many in our group did and enjoyed it after a day of riding. This is a family run business and they treat you like family.

Great location for a few days of sledding

Great place... We stayed for 4 days and food place was great.  I was on the first floor and the room are not as nice and bed not as comfortable then the second floor, but that was ok for me because I was not there to spend time in my room .Food is excellent and price is very affordable. I loved the spa and pool. We had lots of fun. It was one of our friend birthday we had reserve the dining room with had an excellent meal and we had order a B-D cake which they made and was excellent.   A nice place for snowmobilers. The servers and kitchen staff always have a smile and always ready to help you. they make you feel very welcoming. We will be back for sure. Thank you

Great weekend snowmobiling

Its  a Great  in expensive place to sleep , dîne, and  even relax in the jacuzzi  and awsome snowmobile  take off point for the  trails.   In the Centre on the saint Michèle des saint  area

Great take off point for snowmobiles 

Has everything a snowmobiler needs at a reasonable price. Hot tub and pool are nice, but room is very loud; needs some sound dampening. Rooms are basic but clean. Could use some hooks for bibs/pants. Food and service are exceptional. Frank was the friendliest server we’ve had in awhile, especially considering that most winter workers are really ready for Spring. 

Ideal snowmobile hub

My husband snowmobiled in this area years ago and wanted a return visit.  We found this fine place and decided to stay a couple of nights.  This auberge is not fancy but it's quiet and situated right on the lake.  Our room was simple but we enjoyed the lake view plus the peace and quiet.  There is a good restaurant on site and the staff are very helpful and friendly.  There are five huge groomers on site so this is a serious snowmobile area.  We saw several ATVs on the trails so this area is suitable for all seasons.  This is a good place for getting away from it all.   There is a small beach area plus an indoor pool and hot tub. Guests have free access to paddle boats, kayaks and canoes.  Life vests are available.

Rugged place

What a better way to escape the winter blah’s, then to escape the city and go play in the snow.

Whenever I plan a vacation I generally look fir 4/5 star hotels because I’m a bit of a hotel snob and I like to enjoy my stay.  My husband however is less picky than myself and he stayed here earlier in the season for a guys weekend.  He convinced me that this was our best choice for snowmobiling and he was wholeheartedly right.

1) rooms are outdated BUT the bed was comfortable and it offered everything I needed - a bed, a shower and a fridge.  After a long day outside in the cold, I tend to fall asleep quickly.

2) hot tub / pool was excellent. We packed drinks from home and as long as you have plastic cups you’re good to go!

3) food was excellent...not sure why ppl are complaining it was great. Had breakfast both days, chicken one night and pizza the next.  Have the cheesecake- it’s the best I’ve EVER had!

The trails are right there and you don’t have to trail far. There’s onsite gas (cash only) which is really convenient.  

The groomers park on site so the trails are great! Plus there’s a lot of parking you don’t have to worry about your trailer.

Loved my stay and will be back next winter.
