Charming frame, the site deserves its name well, but the most precious is the kindness of the owners we have been under the charm we will definitely come back.. The garden is a charm for children The spa is closed, Ah yes prepare to vote stomach lunch is gargantuan and delicious!!

It's a great place to relax and sleep, nice room. How about a feast to breakfast wow! The coffee is great:-)

A warm and welcoming place

It was a very peculiar experience. We have stayed in countless numbers of B&Bs. This B&B has the most extroverted, caring and friendly hosts we’ve met. But the bed in our room had to be one of the worst beds we’ve ever slept on. One would think the bed is one of the most important things to get right for a B&B...

Since the hosts were so wonderful, I’m very reluctant to give a bad review. However, I do see the need to advise other travellers the pros and cons about this place so that you can evaluate for yourself. 

The B&B is tucked away on a private road. The house is a beautiful wooden mansion with a long terrace on the second floor. We stayed there when the whole site was covered in very thick snow. So, we didn’t get to enjoy the outdoor terrace nor the garden. But we managed to snowshoe around the neighborhood and had a good time. The hosts were very kind and let us borrow their snowshoes. They also served us wine and refreshments in the afternoon.

The common area for guests on the first floor consists of two couches surrounded by plants and a fish tank. The area is not very well-lit. It’s very cramped and you have to share it with two cats. Both cats like to take the spot in the middle of each couch. There is an old television that is not facing anywhere that you can sit. So, if you want to watch TV, I suppose you stand? 

On the second floor, you’ll find a gorgeous hexagonal breakfast room next to a spacious open kitchen. Next to the kitchen is a beautiful and well-lit high ceiling living room with lots of space. It is equipped with a flat screen TV and comfy couches. The catch is, it’s the hosts’ space and you’re not invited to go there. Yet, it’s staring you right in the face. I wish they didn’t flaunt their private space so much since it’s quite a contrast from the common area for guests just a floor below (my husband commented that it reminded him of Downton Abbey). To really authenticate our stay in the “servant quarters”, they had a family gathering during our second night there. The whole evening, we felt trapped in the basement like strangers worrying about intruding on our hosts’ privacy. Ironically, our host walked in on my husband while he was in the bathroom about to take a shower the previous evening. (Knock, knock...)

The hot tub located on the first floor was a wonderful feature of the B&B. We wish the water was warming, but it was still very relaxing and private since we had the place all to ourselves.

The hosts also boasted this gourmet breakfast menu complimented by beautiful tableware, color coordinated napkins and accompanied by homemade maple syrup and other fancy condiments. The breakfast room was simply gorgeous and inviting. Our host loved the details. They lit the chandelier on top of the breakfast table. There was also cheesy instrumental music playing through speakers in the wall (though we would be content if they forgot to push play) With such attention to details, how can we not expect the best? We stayed for two evenings. The breakfast menu was exactly the same for both mornings. Needless to say, we were quite disappointed. Not only because the menu didn’t vary, but because of the fact that they took lots of care to make the dishes look pretty but it looked better than it tasted. 

I wish I could give them a better review. But I can’t. It’s among one of the less appealing B&Bs we’ve stayed at. My back hurt for two more days after we left before I could recover from the lumpy and springy bed that provided very little support for one’s back.

We had an excellent night, a good mattress, a nice room with all the amenities. The lunch was fabulous. Well located, a few minutes from a charming little lake and also very close to the great Memphre Lake, its attractions and a great beach. Good restaurants in Magog, gift shops, showroom and more. Several small villages around with their terroir products to taste and some vineyards. The hosts of the B&B are friendly and warm.
