The location is excellent; right in the center of Ganges! We booked the room with private ensuite and it was wonderful. There is a fire place and a great view of the harbour. The staff at reception were excellent and cocktails and meals at the Inn also wonderful. We will definitely be back!

Christmas Getaway

We spent a night here for a quick getaway. We rented room#2 with a fireplace. Very clean, nice and cozy. We ate 2 meals at the restaurant, dinner on the first day and lunch on the second. Both meals were delicious, I highly recommended staying here. Great view and awesome location. It’s right in the heart of Salt Spring and can walk anywhere.

Christmas Getaway

Booked a room with a shared bathroom for a couple nights.  The shared bathroom was fine - clean and spacious.  The room was tiny, poor air circulation and hot.  Needed air conditioning.  The sheets were pilled and felt like sleeping on gravel.  I was surprised they were still not offering housing keeping for more than one night stays - the excuse, Covid.  Had to follow a regiment for clean towels.  No break in the price, though.  Not sure if I would stay again.

Just OK.

I’ve stayed on Saltspring Island many, many times; cabins, hotels, Airbnb‘s and camping but this time I decided to try the Inn. Going forward, I  will probably never stay anywhere else ever again! The room was lovely  with lots of charm and a super comfy bed. The entire place was impeccably clean and the staff were fabulous! The restaurant downstairs was great (I often eat there when on Saltspring). This time I had their mango ice tea - the best ever! You cannot beat the location as it is right in the heart of Ganges, amidst all the action. For the price, I didn’t have high expectations and I can honestly say I was very pleasantly suprised . 315.00 for 2 nights for 2 of us during peak season!!  This charming place is lovely on it’s own but add in the fabulous staff and you have a definite winner! See you soon guys! Xx

Absolutely Perfect!

Really well situated in Ganges. The ensuite room was comfy, shower excellent. The rooms overlooked the Main Street but it was pretty quiet all the same. Friendly staff happy for me to leave my bags when I arrived early. Excellent breakfast, and good meals all round. Very pleased with my choice

A warm welcome

Probably as close as you can get to an English style inn over a pub.  Despite being over the restaurant, the room was quiet except for the outdoor traffic.  Room was very average.  Our room had an en-suite bathroom, some rooms didn't so make sure that is clarified before you book.  Hotel is in walking distance of downtown Ganges.

Our first visit to Salt Spring Island and we were not disappointed with Salt Spring Inn food. Missus had the butter chicken pizza - excellent thin crust, loads of chicken and zesty. Hailing from Scotland I had the two piece cod and chips and it was fantastic. Too many restaurants serve it very crispy, but Salt Spring Inn had pure white cod meat and little crisp on the edges. The tartare sauce was also excellent. We had planned to have dessert, but there was no room left ! Amanda our server was smiley, cheery and chatty and we both expected to wait a lot longer for the food, but it was there very quickly. Looking forward to return and maybe have appetizers and then dessert.

Best Fish and Chips

This is a very quaint inn, not to be confused with a hotel. We did have what was probably the best room, which had a full 3-piece bathroom. Other rooms shared facilities. My only complaint on the room itself was that we didn't realize how noisy the road would be in the morning. It is the main road, after all. However, good news that there was no noise at night, which was welcome. The view would have been compromised by moving to the other side of the building. A little hiccup upon arrival was swiftly met with full accountability by staff and owner. We really appreciated that. Location is perfect. Lots to see and do without driving, which was especially welcome at night.

Very central to everything

Salt Spring Inn is a charming boutique hotel. That means, to a guy who is 6 foot 1, very small rooms. But if you want to stay in town and use public transit (bus, cab), as we did, it worked fine. The owners have invested a ton of money into remodeling and the results are superb. The tv is small but fits the space it needs to fit. Everything is on "European scale" which means tiny, including the shower and bathroom. But being so close to the harbor, the shops, the Sat market, the waterfront, was perfect for our 2 night stay.

We stayed in room 2 (queen bed, private toilet and shower and sink) which had a nice view of town and the waterfront. The pilot light in the fireplace made the room a bit warm so we kept the window open and the fan running, which made for a bit of noise. Breakfast was not included but there was a Keurig coffeemaker in the hallway shared by others on the floor. TV has limited stations and not great reception but that's not why we came to Salt Spring! Two of the managers, Jerry and Beth, are incredibly nice and helpful. Beth helped us think of an alternative ferry plan (using taxi to Fulford ferry to Swartz Bay ferry to Tsawwassen) when the Long Harbor ferry back to Tsawwassen time changed to late night (we wanted to return mid afternoon)

Our Saturday visit to the outdoor market was a very short walk as was the harbor and little quaint restaurants. We really enjoyed our 2 night stay. One more tip: if the public bus leaves before you arrive on ferry, don't be afraid to share a taxi with other stranded travelers. The taxi drivers will eventually come back to get you if they are full on the first round, just go slow and adopt to "island time."

Excellent In-Town Location

A perfectly central spot! Very clean.. I even brought along my “inside the hotel slippers” - not needed. Even the carpets are clean.  Quaint and tidy room (room 5). Friendly but exhausted staff… I was told the restaurant was shut today due to under staffing and staff exhaustion.  Tough times, I feel for them. I did book this spot specifically because it has a restaurant right inside but was happy with the restaurant across the way (Oystercatcher Bar and Grill - Very good food, atmosphere and service.)  I will look forward to visiting the Salt Spring Inn again and hope to catch the restaurant open. Cheers!
