The property was unclean and smoky, despite a recent 'refurbishment'. Our room over looked the parking lot, on a busy road with filthy windows.  The enamel tub and tiles in the bathroom were chipped and the bathroom sink was clogged.  An error on Expedia's end meant the  reservation dates were incorrect. The Spot at Porpoise Bay refused to refund the night we didn't stay there despite 48 hrs notice prior to arrival.  We were made to pay for the same room twice, despite staying only one night. 
 Do not waste your time or money at this unprofessional, greedy business.

We had a great stay at this hotel.  It was newly renovated , rooms were clean, small kitchenette was an added bonus.  Gazebo was great to sit and watch the tides and marine life.  Would highly recommend.  

Great spot to stay in Sechelt

Pros: 
Great place. Good view 
Very clean and modern and updated. 
Front staff very friendly and helpful. We checked in at around 1am as our ferry was delayed. They stayed an hour late to check us in. 
Room service is good
Fridge/ MW/ AC/ hot water with great pressure/ updated washrooms
Very close to restaurants, beaches etc. 
Cons: 
Very thin walls could hear the noise from outside our room and hallway 
AC is noisy 
Blinds are not blackout

Really happy with everything. I was a bit concerned by some of the reviews after i booked but totally relieved to find a brand new room.  Yep this hotel i guess has been totally renovated. Hardwood flooring ….very well appointed and spotlessly clean. Stylish lighting fixture….really comfy bed.  They didnt cheap out on it. Ok its not the westin but hell inthink this is for sure the place to be in this neck of the woods.  

I totally messed up with my booking through expedia.  Booked the wrong date and yep totally my fault.  I called the hotel and the young man i talked to really couldnt help me of course but he went over and above in trying to.  Really nice guy.   I would for sure stay here again!

Small town big hearts. Loved this hotel.

Went for a weekend using BC Ferry’s vacation package. The motel has obviously just recently been renovated, both inside and out. There are laminate floors in the rooms which I love as carpet is gross. The bathroom in our room was a walk in shower and a trendy mirror/light, all new. The manager checked to make sure we had everything we needed and the maid did as well. We had a ground floor room(there are only two levels) and were on the inlet side, so a beautiful view to look at. The beds were very comfortable and sheets clean. We had bar fridge and microwave desk and tv.

Renovated, clean and average.

This smaller motel (about 32 rooms) is located on the inlet beside the Lighthouse Pub and a Government wharf. There are few other amenities within walking distance.  Our room faced the ocean which was nice, otherwise you are facing the road. It has been recently updated and the building has been painted and stained. Our room was clean with a renovated bathroom, new flooring, good sized bar fridge, microwave and comfortable beds. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Limited parking at the motel but there is sufficient overflow parking across the street. This is not the Hilton, so it will not be for everyone, but for the price my wife and I were satisfied. 

Weekend stay

This place is terrible. The building his in very bad shape and was under renovations (although the workmanship was terrible). They decided to rush the work and rent each unit as it became available. Lots of stuff missing including: toilet paper holder, toilet paper, chair for desk, no bar fridge, no hangers in the bathroom for towels. The bed needed fixing as it was sinking to the floor when sat on. The toilet was new, but they were so cheap they reused the old cigarette-burnt toilet seat! It was like a third world motel charged at first world rates! You've been warned!

I was charged to stay at this motel when i never made a booking. I thought it was a scam when they called me to tell me they were charging me a no show fee
Once i saw the amount come off my credit card i knew it was not fake, i called the motel and i spoke to the rudest human being i have ever had the displeasure of speaking to. She literally could not care what was happening, she was not interested in listening to me or let me explain myself. Further more, she tells me she cant cancel the booking but soon after that she tells me if i pay 5 days then she can cancel it. After i asked to speak to the owner she tells me she is the owner but then later on denies she told me that.

SHOCKING SERVICE

It is a small town , do not set your  expectations too high , Motel  need a good make over , the place is so quite and laid back , our room is in  the back facing the water , room is renovated and  clean , very basic ,  beds not comfortable , for a  quick night stay before we  heading up to Madeira Park for four days ,  it suited our need .

Royal Reach Motel advertised on Priceline.  Their pictures offered what appeared to be decent room overlooking the water in Sechelt.  Wildfires and COVID had put serious pressure on accommodation availability on the BC Sunshine Coast so room were at a real premium.  Priceline offered the room at $199, high but in the market acceptable.  The motel owners set a nonrefundable booking policy. We found out later why.  What Priceline didn’t reveal was that the booking was in US dollars.  Why would a Canadian booking in Canada for a Canadian property pay is US dollars?  After posting the deal, Priceline advised of the US dollar transaction.  I attempted to have them reverse the deal but the nonrefundable transaction prevailed.  Bookings.com customer service attempt without success to have the motel owner reverse the transaction but also failed.  Just to be sure the place existed I drove by the motel, oh my god.   This place exists but I wouldn’t house any live animal there.  There was no person in the reception area and no way to contact them.  This motel is an outright fraud and people need to be aware.  Thus far I have not received any refund of the $250 is was charged on my VISA.  Needles to say we did not stay.
