We felt like we way over-payed for what we got. Also we were charged nearly double of what we were quoted at first. House-keeping left some things to be desired and the kitchen was not very well stocked. One nice thing was all the activities on the playground for the little folk, although some of the things were poorly maintained. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of bedding. Check it out before you book!!

Disappointed

Staff was nice and courteous the grass was green and our camping spot was magical

You were lucky enough to have a break in the smoke apparently so we had this nice Mountain View and we were at the beach chilling we could see the other side of Shuswap lake no problem thank God

Family reunion

Christine made sure my stay was absolutely perfect. I received the warmest greeting at check-in and had the most welcoming stay. All amenities are as advertised, rooms are comfortable and on-site assistance can't be beat. A comfy and affordable stay of the #1 hwy. I can't wait to return to see Christine and stay next summer. The Shuswap is a litter warmer wither her hospitality so close to the lake. Until next summer, SLM&R. Cheers!

Beautiful accommodation. Fabulous host.

Arrived after a long day of driving to find a room with a mattress standing in the middle of the floor. The odour punched me in the face immediately. There was a spider crawling around in the tub. We had no kitchen so asked to get a different cabin with a kitchen and she said no so we asked to cancel and she said no. Then offered us the other cabin with a kitchen only to find mouse droppings all over the place including on the towels in the bathroom so we packed up and bolted out of there. The owner was confrontational and wouldn’t admit any fault or take accountability for the dirty floors that were clearly never swept or mopped. I had to bring her in the cabin to show her and so she couldn’t deny it! Terrible traumatic experience.

Nightmare

This place was unclean when we arrived. There were mouse droppings all over the cabin, in the cupboards, on the towels, under the furniture. The host Christine was not very understanding, and would not offer a refund even though we did not stay there due to the uncleanliness.

Unclean Cabins

We stayed here in a pinch as we were looking for accommodation quick. We had stayed here 28 years ago and have fond memories. The new Management is very helpful and always asked if we needed anything and were comfortable. They are very hardworking. Always doing some sort of maintenance. The rooms are comfortable, economically priced and well equipped for a traveller. Good base for cycling in the area. Great place for a family with kids. Great playground and lawn area. We will stop in again.

Very comfortable, friendly new management

The new owner is friendly and helpful.  The campground is your average campground. A bit run down as most are. Be prepared for an expensive stay, however.  The fee was 75% more than the campground 2 nights prior and more than double the night before (both places having well maintained and spotless washrooms and showers).  Having said that, and to be fair, in comparison to the other campground/dump we looked at down the road for a similar price we were happy to have a private spot on level ground.  As mentioned above. The new owner is a nice young women and we wish her well.

It's OK. (Update from a couple years ago)

rooms and site was dirty, owner was drunk and the office never open BEWARE TRAVELLERS ohh and way over priced! Way to close to the highway traffic noise all night long, and a huge overall thumbs down!

worst site in the shuswap

We went here because all provincial sites were booked, I would say the only bonus is that there wasn’t anyone there beside us and then on day 2 and 3, two more families came but kept to them selves . We paid to stay there for four nights and left day three . Owner is on something (drink,drugs,Who knows) , doesn’t come around to clean the garbage . Charged us $20 for wood for our fire and it was scrap plywood... bathrooms were gross , weren’t cleaned once . Playgrounds are falling apart. She also doesn’t charge what’s on her website she charges WAY more, my friend paid $250 for 4 nights , not even a serviced site. We will never go again

Never again

please be warned this is under new management and its absolutely dreadful.  The showers were not cleaned properly the whole time we were there the rubbish on site never emptied.  The owner smelled of booze when we got there and the office was closed all the time.  I had stayed here many times under previous owners but will never return after last experience.
