The staff are friendly, the view is amazing and the room was clean. A beautiful river view sunset. The beach is only a short walk away. It was nice to have a kettle in the room along with coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave.

Comfortable

We have stayed here several times,we love our rooms especially since they renovated the smaller bathroom. Friendly,price is good, location great items to do great.I don't even miss the dinning room.They have a coffee and that's all I need.I recommended this place to family and they came up this year too.
I don't write reviews often but Dana and her team were very nice.

Great stay

A fantastic weekend at KitWat.  Could not beat the view!  Close to the main part of Sauble yet far enough away that it isn’t noisy or busy.  The room was clean, really comfortable mattress and multiple pillows to choose from.  Great service!  Loved our stay!

Wonderful, charming place!

We stayed at the KitWat for 2 nights. The room has been updated and the beds comfortable.  The location on the Sauble River is fantastic. However, there are many things that can be improved.

The upper window frame and curtain rod fell off the wall and onto my elderly mother the first night.  She wasn’t hurt. The a/c unit was also broken.  We didn’t report either issue until the next morning.  Both were repaired, but Brad  was rude and borderline belligerent about it.  I’m not sure why he is working in the service industry.  He implied that we damaged the frame and curtain rod.  My mother was tucking my son into bed and brushed against it, that’s all it took for it to come down. It was not installed correctly during the renovations.  When the new a/c unit was installed he refused to to frame it it in, I guess there was a time management issue.  Without framing there was a 2 inch gap around the unit, which would allow all sorts of bugs into the room.  Have you ever seen the size of a dock spider?  No thanks.  When I pressed the issue with Dana she seemed irritated and but agreed to stuff towels into the gap.  Brad failed to tidy up afterwards and my son stepped on the debris left  the floor.
The tap water smells like sulphur, bring your own water to drink and make coffee. The coffee provided was decent.
Of the 4 bbqs we could only get one to ignite. 
Try and avoid booking a ground floor room unless you want to hear every step your upstairs neighbours make.
There was no where to put any clothing, but as we were only there 2 nights that wasn’t a big deal. If you were staying any longer it would be nice to unpack a little bit. Adding a  luggage rack would be a good idea to keep suitcases off the floor.  A bedside lamp would also have been helpful.

As a customer I can forgive a lot, as any new venture has its  growing pains  and we are coming out of COVID restrictions etc.  What has really turned me off ever returning to or recommending the KitWat were the poor attitudes of Dana and Brad. With all the improvements required to bring this older motel into a modern era, I’d suggest Dana and Brad prioritize improving their customer service.

Very nice family owned motel.
The place itself is a gem in Sauble beach. Sunset apéro is amazing, I had a great time with the family.
Complimentary canoe renting was an appreciated bonus. Complimentary bbq station is also amazing.
The owner let me charge my car multiple times on an outside plug.
The place is super close to the beach which prevent to pay for the expensive beach parking (30$ per day)
The owner is doing much effort to enhance and renew the motel because yes, a few things need to be refreshed, starting with the showers who are still stuck in the 80s.

A gem!!

We booked this hotel with Booking.com. No where on their site did it state that we had to bring our own towels, sheets, blankets and pillows. They sent us an email after we paid for the expensive room.  We paid over 500 for 2 nights.  The beds had plywood between the uncomfortable mattresses and box springs. The shower door was moody and jammed while I was in there. My husband and I both pulled, pushed, kicked until we finally got it to release.  Yes,  they have a microwave if you want to go downstairs and use the outside microwave.  I understand Covid restrictions, but they are ridiculous and stated on the website no refunds.  Later we found that we had 72 hours. I will never stay there again!

I don't know about other rooms, but we had number 20. Looks like a hell. (Price 175 per night. It's not about the money. I really want the owners spend at least the night in the "room". See my  pictures. You just can imagine the stench inside ... And it is terrible Google did not publick my review vith the pictures people may come to this place with the children bur it’s may be dangereus for their helth

May be Dangerous for the health

I went to Sauble Beach for the first time.  The Kit Kat Marina and Motel was perfect for us.  On the river, quiet with canoes and kayaks to use and a great base for touring.  They had bbq's for us to use, tables by the water and friendly staff.  

We were able to head to town or the beach for the neighbourhood.  Lots to do, restaurants, shops and very relaxing.

A visit to the beach

Absolutely loved the time we spent at Kit Wat motel. The hospitality was amazing with complimentary canoes and kayaks and access to bbqs and fireplaces. Plus only a 5 minute walk to the beach!! 10/10!

Last minute getaway

We were really surprise, this is such a cute place.  Jackie runs a great motel.  While the hotel is very dated, it is super clean, sits on a beautiful river five minutes from 
Sauble Beach.
At $120 it was a great price.
There is a grocery store across the street with a butcher and great steaks, and Jackie provides BBQ's, it was sort of cool.
We enjoyed a great BBQ, the motel provided us with utensils to BBQ and plastic plates and cutlery.  After dinner we walked to the beach and it was so unlike the fast paced packed main Sauble Beach.  Nice romantic walk on the beach, felt like we were all by ourselves.
Also had free kayak rentals and life jackets, Jackie had it all organized so no one used someone else's jackets.  Good to note that you have to take your own bedding, pillows and towels during COVID. Bathrooms are very basic, but hey the rate is low and the room is very tidy with TV, fridge, we asked for coffee maker and got one as well from Jackie, you can buy coffee across the street as well.
Forgot to mention they also have a microwave, so you can bake a potatoe for dinner, they though of everything.  Jackie was right on it to santize after each persons use.
Highly recommend this low key, family oriented motel.  We will be back!
