Found this place after getting off the ferry. Rooms looked nice and the person at reception, Alice, was pleasant. Went for dinner at her suggestion, returned to settle in for the night. First off, no wifi password and not provided at  check in. Second, tv cable box didn’t work nor was the internet connected to the smart tv. Beds are hard like you’re lying on plywood. Trying to reach someone for help was no good as no answer despite a couple messages and another number at the front office door was not responded to either. (Eventually did receive the password but it was wrong.) Price was jacked as the whole area had an influx of travellers during the May long weekend. Price gouging, much? 

Room was big, clean, floors were laminate instead of carpet, a good idea. Fridge, microwave, heater/ac unit all functional. 

If you’re heading North toward Wiarton and have no other options I’d say it’s ok in a pinch. Otherwise just drive on by.

Ok, but don’t expect amenities.

The motel was very good, room was clean and well maintained.
They had a good backyard with space to do a campfire.
Overall the room was very comfortable.
Service and staff were friendly and helpful.
Check in and out process was smooth and easy and they were accommodating for us since we had to check in late.

Nice Motel with cozy backyard

I booked my room on Monday October 12, 2020 with my credit card. I came from Niagara Falls to visit a person in a retirement home. It is a 4 hour drive. We did our visit and went to get our room at 4:00 pm. They went through there book and found I did book my room but the person who took the reservation did not put it in the computer. Said nothing they could do. We had stayed there before and trusted this motel. So I ended up driving back to Niagara Falls which took 4 hours and 30 minutes. 
Very upset and disappointed.

Peninsula Motel is located north of Wiarton very close the number 6 and Bruce County road 9.  They have a great big amazing lot and backs onto woodlots.  On the front south side of their lot they have BBQ area and a play area.  The staff is fantastic and the rooms are very big.  I loved the fact that I could open a great big window in the bedroom for a great night sleep.  It is very clean and comfortable.  At night they have a fire pit going in the backyard.  The only thing I did not like, is it is a pet friendly location.  Not everyone is good pet owner.

I loved this place

The rooms looked newly renovated, with a fridge, microwave and TV in each room. Beds were comfortable and gave us a good night's rest. The complimentary breakfast was okay for a motel- with your basic toast, bagels, cereal, yogurt, fruit, tea, milk and coffee. However, it would have been nice to see an alternative to the styrofoam plates/ cups and plastic cutlery used, especially considering its location to all these beautiful conservation areas. Much waste was generated from breakfast.

Location is nice-- not too far from downtown Wiarton and some hiking trails, and about an hour away from Tobermory.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall our stay was enjoyable.

Clean, comfortable, good price; breakfast could be improved

Really impressed with this motel. The rooms are very spacious compared to most hotel rooms. Very clean. The woman who runs it is very friendly. They have a big grassy area with a play structure for the kids and BBQ with picnic tables for guest to use. Continental breakfast is also provided. I would 100% recommended this place to anyone travelling in this area.

Great find!

Don't let the nondescript signage fool you!  This motel is one of the best.  Booked in for a night and was impressed.  We immediately booked another night for our return trip.

The rooms are very large and immaculately clean.  It has free WIFI, fridge, coffee maker and free coffee, microwave, iron and ironing board.  There are 3-4 BBQ's and picnic tables for anybody wishing to cook their own meals along with a small children's play area and horse shoe pits.  The view from the large back windows will amaze you.  It's like you are in the middle of mother nature.

Debra Moseychuck was our host for our two visits.  She was a delight.

We enjoyed the free continental breakfast that is included in the price.

Happy to find this GEM

We came back this year.  This motel is a wonderful place to stay.  Rooms are immaculate, staff is friendly and helpful, location great and it has a nice breakfast bar.  Before leaving we booked next years stay.  We are often not comfortable in this kind of lodging, but Peninsula Motel is the exception to the rule.  We were "at home" and it gets a 5 star rating

A great find

We stayed one night at the Peninsula Motel. Very clean - we stayed in a room that had been renovated with new laminate floors.  Beds were clean and comfortable. There is a fridge and microwave in the room. Super friendly and helpful staff - they recommended some good places to dine in Wiarton, and directed us to the local Foodland supermarket. The motel sells a few toiletry items and souvenirs. Although we didn’t use the fire pit, you are welcome to a nightly campfire - just need to purchase the wood on site. We loved the free continental breakfast and dining area  - with decent coffee, toast, bagels, cereal, yogurt and fruit. Good, quiet location for us - 50 minutes to Tobermory . There is a closed and fenced in yard for a game of soccer, picnic tables, bbq and volleyball on site. Would definitely recommend.

Clean, great location

Large, clean rooms, good continental breakfast included in price and a personable, friendly owner make this motel a cut above most others. There are BBQ's available for guests at the south end of the units and a beach volleyball area beyond that. Conveniently located on Highway 6, just north of Wiarton, it is a perfect base to explore the Bruce Peninsula. Highly recommended!
