We stayed two nights at the Cabot Boutique Hotel, and it was amazing. Charming and spacious historic room with perhaps the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in in a hotel. The room and hotel was spotlessly clean and quiet, and the continental breakfast that was delivered right to our door was great. Fresh, flaky croissant, hard-boiled egg, orange juice, apple and a yogurt made for a great start to each day. We had an issue getting the TV to work, and someone came while we were out and fixed it for us. Highly recommend.

Amazing boutique hotel

This is a beautiful little boutique hotel. Spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and the room was huge.the decor is so charming and the bed was very comfortable. This is a fab place to stay. I have not one negative thing to say. We stayed here twice and loved it.

This is awesome!

Stayed here for 1 night while here for an interview, absolutely loved it! My room was super cute and clean with a TV, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the caretaker was super nice. I had some complementary cereal and coffee for breakfast and it was great, and I was impressed to see that they have a fridge and microwave in the main foyer so that you can buy your own food if you wish. The check in process was a little bit confusing since you let yourself in, but I figured it out pretty quickly. Also the room took awhile to heat up once I turned on the heat, but it's a pretty old building so that's to be expected. Overall lovely lovely lovely place, would definitely come back! :) 10/10!

So cute!

Clean, bright, spacious, private, warm, wi-fi, parking. Host was multilingual and hailed from Morocco. I didn't hear his Arabic or Spanish but he flipped between French and English without missing a beat. He took a call from a person who seemed quite upset that they had not reached St. John, New Brunswick. The conversation dragged on. I asked "How can you do that?" He said "Everybody makes mistakes, Maybe I helped some by being polite and listening." He smiled as he talked into the phone. 

There are lots of quite interesting things to do in St. John's. Many of which are on the street running perpendicular from Monkstown Road. The Rooms Complex is a typical monument to the architect, but it houses  a decent art gallery, museum (hit or miss), and archives. The restaurant at the top must have some of the best views in the City but nighttime approaches fast in the fall so it is best to go there for lunch.

Excellent location, no hills.

We stayed here for four nights when we first arrived in St John's and another night when we were leaving St John's 4 weeks later. We loved it! We would absolutely stay there again if we found ourselves in St John's. The rooms are a good size and very clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast is more than adequate. The whole feel of the place is elegant and cozy. The only downside, if there is one, is the parking is a touch tight. Having said that, our rental car was a medium-size and we had absolutely no trouble parking but I could see that we may have if the place was completely full or if guests all had large vehicles; there is also an alternate free parking area not 10 minutes walk from the hotel.

Stayed in Room 6 on second floor.  

Large spacious and clean room.  Jetted tub and shower.  

There is a self serve continental breakfast included.  Cereals, toast.  The normal fare.  

Walking distance to downtown and reasonably priced.  

Definitely will be back.   Worth checking out if you want lots of space and would like to be close to the downtown core.  



Great Place.......Great Location

I had planned to stay at Abba Inn. It has closed for the season. So I searched the area as it is perfect from my needs.I decided to give the Cabot a go. I was told it was being refurbished and warned that there could be dust and workers but it was all good.

Rooms were quite large. Everything was fine. Beautiful building. Excellent private off-street parking (FREE) which is not the norm in this area. Very quiet.

I lucked in

Great bed, heated bathroom flooring, quiet. Private off street parking. Central downtown location. Convenient maps handy. Street names are a challenge. They change names at intersections. Deadly blackout drapes. I slept like a log.

Deep deep beds

Conveniently located in the downtown.  Area is quiet and property has ample off-street parking. Large rooms and excellent beds. This is a great recommend. A little tweaking is needed with their Guest Manual restaurant recommendations. Perhaps the 'debaucherous' feast with Anthony Bourdain put the one local eatery into the league of those wishing to be mistaken for the "über" rich.

Restored historic mansion

The location is great ... in a residential neighbourhood, close to Bannerman Park and a 10 minute walk to Water and George Streets (restaurants and bars) and 10 minutes to Quidi Vidi Lake. This is an Inn with no visible hosts ... keys and instructions are left in an envelope at the front door,  a continental breakfast is delivered in a box to your door each morning (boiled egg, muffin or croissant, yogurt, apple, juice).  An in-room Nespresso machine (with extra pods available in the communal dining area on the ground floor) was a morning life-saver.  Milk was available from the fridge in the dining area, but not in the bedrooms. 

Our room was large enough for a king sized bed and a small sitting area (2 arm chairs and a table).  An in-window air conditioner helped keep the edge off of the summer heat in the evenings, but was loud when trying to sleep. Everything was clean.  There were 5-6 car parking spaces squeezed into the backyard, which seemed to be enough for all guests when we stayed (although there are more rooms than parking spaces, so parking is not guaranteed).
