We stayed in Cabin 5 and, unfortunately, the cabin smelled strongly of old food and mildew. The towels were so mildewy that we had to ask for replacements. The sheets, unfortunately, smelled of body odour. The smell really made our stay unpleasant. The cabin could use an update - it still has old carpet, and this cabin does not appear in any of the pictures on the website (surprisingly, it is labelled as an “executive” cottage).  In addition, many of the screens were ripped, including on the front door, there was no dish rack, and the bbq did not seem to have been cleaned in a long time, and the basin of the bbq quickly caught fire from all the grease caught in the bottom. 

On the plus side, the location was great, as were the grounds and the outdoor heated pool.  And our friends appreciated that their cabin was pet-friendly. The owners were pleasant, but unfortunately we would not return or recommend this place.

We just can’t get past the strong mildewy smell.

We were APPALLED!!! The cottage was run down with a sloping floor and lots of dings and scratches but that can be easily over looked if a place has nice beds, crisp sheets and clean dishes.  This wasn’t our experience.

When we arrived the office was closed and there was no note for us or directions. We managed to get a hold of the owner to find out where we were staying. The place was DIRTY!! Hair and dust lined the hallways. The curtain rods are bent in the middle in almost all the rooms. The bathroom floor had so much gunk in the corners, the shower curtain was brown/yellow at the bottom. The cabin slept 6 but there were only 5 chairs at the table.

 I went into the bathroom to find dirty towels hanging on the hooks. The bedroom closets had dirty towels as well hanging too dry. 

I pulled back the covers of our bed and suspected they weren’t clean. They looked slept in. I pulled all the covers back and found BODY HAIR! (Gag!!!) 

We called the owner and she sent over a nice young man who couldn’t speak English. He went to get us new sheets. He brought back a hand full of unfolded sheets that ended up all bring to sheets with no pillow cases. We had to get him and send him back FOUR times!! I wondered if the sheets were out of the drier or the dirty close pile but we had paid with points so there was no getting our money back to go somewhere else! We pulled the dirty sheets off ourselves and made our own beds. I’ve been telling myself that they are clean… they just didn’t put enough soap in the wash…

It’s disgusting.

Bring your own sheets!!!

I can't actually review the cottages because our reservation was cancelled without notification.  We booked almost a year in advance because  we were going to PEI for a wedding in the Stanhope Area.  We received a confirmation and we paid our deposit.  When we called a month before our arrival we were told that we had no reservation. When we emailed her our confirmation she said she made a mistake and booked our cottage and could do nothing for us.  She offered us an apartment unit in Charlottetown which would not work as we were not going to travel back and for to the week long wedding celebration at Stanhope.   Run from this place as you never know if you if your reservation will actually be there when you arrive.

Wish I could give no Stars

We stayed in cottage #5 - it was clean and appointed as the ads claimed.
The site is in a good location to get places, and very quiet, most units set back from the road.
Hosts were fine, easy to reach during their open hours. They make an effort to run things smoothly

Aside #1 - we were originally in # 14 but the loud hum (Mach 1 level) from the pool filtration system was too much , so we asked to move and were accommodated right away 

Aside # 2 - warning to guests & tip to owners: get some bath mats or etch the tub floors. They are as slick as ice and a liability claim waiting to happen. Good luck.

Good basic cottage accommodation

I was concerned reading previous reviews,  however my experience was very good at this location.  Check in was easy.  Cottage was wonderful and clean.  The beds were comfortable and there was air conditioning and a dishwasher.  (We stayed in cottage 10)The location was beautiful and close to the beaches.  The wifi was fast and worked without any problems.  There is fire pits (although it would have been good to have 1 fire pit per cottage).  I am sorry to see others had issues in the past,  but our families experience was great.  We will be back.

Wonderful trip

We enjoyed our visit to the property, stayed  three nights in cottage #10. The cottage was well equipped and clean. 
The owner and staff were freindly, asked several times if everything was ok. 
Check in and check out went smoothly.

Comfortable cottages

to begin the owner/hostess was very rude to our family and friends! not only was she rude, she also charged for extra amenities such as laundry soap and detergent for using the laundry room. the rooms themselves were dirty and full of insects. we asked the hostess to switch bed sheets but instead of giving us bed sheets, she said to keep them and argued saying “why did you not tell me before? you already stayed once.” the owners customers service was absolutely poor. in one of the houses living rooms, we found a mattress that was peed on by dogs. the owner told us that there were no dogs that had stayed in the houses but one of the rooms also smelled like wet dog. the cottage also has a pool for the kids to use but it looks like it hasnt been cleaned properly by staff. they claim to clean it every morning but its been nothing but dirty. if i wouldnt want any of my children and my friends children to swim in that pool, i wouldnt want any other children swimming in it as well. the wifi does not work as well when the owner claims to have “fast wifi” on her advertisement. when speaking to the owner ablut the wifi she says she cannot do anything about it and to deal with it. overall i would give this cottage a 0/10 rating if i could. i will not be coming back here

Horrible Cottage for Family Vacations

The hist Sunny is a fraud and she takes money as deposit and cancel booking at last moment, she is a fraud, arrogant and rude lady. She even will try to get your credit card details, she took my $500 money and cancelled my booking and when i went to ask money she yelled and told me to get out. Have reported to the police.

Scam

Scam! Scam!The host (Sunny ) she is a fraud and never go to any of her cottages and properties..She made my family to wait whole day in front of her apartment ..She is very rude and unprofessional..Poor communication and greedy.She asked 500 $ prebooking charges from us 3 months before .On the day of our check in she asked us to give our credit card details or 2500 deposit for 1 month stay..when we refused to give that she started to yelling at us and didn’t allow us stay in her appartment.She didn’t refund our money too..

Very very bad experience

Scam. Host (Sunny Tan) requested 500$ damage deposit. On the day when we came for check in, Host asked credit card details along with the rent. We felt something is not right. We said we cannot provide credit card details as the rental board said not to do so. We asked for the damage deposit of 500 $ back. Host rude to me and my family, we left the place immediately.
