They called the police because they could smell alcohol on my breath.. I was just going for dinner

Went for dinner

I had planned to write a fairly positive review of this hotel until we received our recent credit card bill.  We had booked two rooms for one night-one room was designated as pet friendly. Our adolescent children spent the night in one room and my husband and I spent the night with the dogs in the other room.  We did pay an extra fee to have the dogs in one room.  We then decided to pay for a second night for one room at the hotel although had plans to leave by the afternoon (and did leave by 4pm).  We wanted to give our dogs a safe and cool space to spend the day.  We happily paid the full fee and the extra pet fee.  Upon checking out, my husband asked if the staff wanted to inspect the room before we left.  Staff declined and did not express any concerns.  We were then billed $150 cleaning fee.  This fee was applied without any discssion from the hotel and is in excess of the overnight fee itself!! The dogs did not sleep on the beds, and one bed in the room was not even used at all. There was absolutely no damage  in the room.   The flooring is obviously very inexpensive laminate flooring which truly can't be that diffiicult to clean.  Upon contacting the hotel, we were given no explanation for the fee other than it would not be reversed.  Our credit company has refunded the fee and has initiated a fraud investigation with this hotel.   
So in short...don't stay....Homewood Suites and Super 8 are all pet friendly and we have never had an issue when staying at those facilities. This is one mistake we won't make again.

Dishonest and Fraudulent

For many years this was our place of choice for big groups or small groups. Now this year there is new owners and the friendly service we all enjoyed for so many years is never to be seen again. Nobody is ever in the office to help you. They have a camera for you to push a button and they come to help you from another location so you get the pleasure of standing outside in rain or shine for 10 or 15 minutes till they show up to give you crappy service. They are terrible at holding reservations. They take your reservation but when you show up from a long ride they tell you that they don’t have a room for you and haven’t been very caring or take any care that you are out of a place to stay and about their own mistakes or in anyway polite about it. The rooms are barely cleaned. Dirty floors dirty beds. All the extras the old owners had for their guests to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable are gone. Our big groups that always enjoyed staying here have now decided to stay at the neighbouring motel called moonlight inn because of the better service and the trust of having a reserved room available after travelling many hours. They also have a free breakfast at moonlight inn. The new owners decided to close the restaurant at chateau Guay so now the new owners have taken away yet another great service the previous owners offered. The lazy cleaning and rude service and non existing service in the office really has ruined this once great motel. Please dont waste your time with this outdated dirty motel. And I have gone through the other reviews and all of the  reviews are from when it was owned by the previous owners not from the new owners that have recently taken over this once great motel. I’ve read them all last year with old owners. Terrible to see this happen.and to reassure you, we have tried multiple times this year to give the new owners a chance just in case it was a bad day or a simple mistake but ending up with the same crappy results and friends being without a room every time we tried. 2 thumbs down after giving multiple tries.

Don’t bother staying

We had made a reservation at Chateau Guay a week in advance and at that time we were asked to let the motel know if we were going to check in later than 9 pm.  After 9 hours of driving it was determined that we would not be arriving until approximately 8:30 but in the event of traffic or construction I contacted the motel to advise that.  Fifteen minutes later my cell phone rang to tell us that our room had been given away that morning and that the motel was full. It was suggested that we might want to try the motel across the street, which when.we inquired was also full. Fortunately I had a data plan and we were in an area to get a connection, and after numerous calls we were able to secure a room in another town and had to amend our travel plans accordingly.

Never again

Friendly, courteous, helpful, professional staff always there to care for your anything you need. excellent rates, cozy room. Convenient location right off the highway.Quiet, clean. I would stay there again

Chateau Guay Motel Sudbury

Be careful ! There is a little tricky advertising on booking,com website for Chateau Guay motel in Sudbury. 
Breakfast is not free unless you reserved with booking.com
Even if you make a phone call for reservation you won't get free breakfast.
After 3 days staying at that motel, I had to pay back all my breakfasts.
Unfortunately, it doesn't leave a pleasant souvenir from the place.

Our last motel on our trip and not disappointed. Room was large, very clean and comfortable bed. Owner was very pleasant when we checked in. It was very quiet even being on a main road. Would stay again if in the area.

Very nice room

Very clean, large room with attached bathroom and excellent hot shower.  Frig and microwave, but no coffee maker or alarm clock.  Attached restaurant with outstanding breakfast.  Good wifi and television.  Pet friendly.

Winter Stay

I stayed here with my father and brothers a few days ago. The place was very clean, had fast WiFi, and is very close to great restaurant and shopping options. 
The staff was helpful, and even had a pillow we had left there waiting for us when we swung back thru town a handful of days after our original stay.
The restaurant attached is also excellent.
Highly recommended! 

Clean Motel in great location!

Five of us went out for a late weekend lunch 3 pm and it wasn't busy. Everyone was served their beverages except me.  Our orders were served and I asked to have my drink changed to just water for simplicity sake.  The food was okay but the fries were cold and the meat was tough.  I asked the waitress for more water which never came  we ended up serving ourselves.  I pass by this restaurant weekly and always wanted to try it.  I will never return to this place!!  !
