This B&B is absolutely perfect.  It is peaceful, clean, well appointed and equiped. The owners Mrs Lessard and M. Harvey are just perfect hosts.  They will attend to your every need.  They know their region perfectly and their advice should be take very seriously.  For instance how you should dress for certain activities.  I regret not having taken their meal box for breakfast, it must have been very satisfying and interesting.  Now, standing at the top of the hill, overlooking Tadoussac, the St-Lawrence and the Saguenay is just a feast for the eyes, the mind and the spirit.  I wish the owners and this B&B a long healthy life and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys unbelievable scenery, perfect hosts and unique accommodations.

Une vue panoramique innoubliable

We had a great stay of four nights at Harvey Lessard. Our host, Luc, was like our personal concierge! Our French is not that great and our US phone did not have service in Canada. Luc called and arranged a whale-watching kayak trip and a sightseeing cruise up the Saguenay fjord. His advice was accurate in recommending a restaurant in town with the best food and best value. We needed to rise early for the drive up to the Mer et Monde kayak trip and he made up a great "lunch box" and set it by our door for early breakfast. The hotel is on a hill and our room had a broad view of the St. Lawrence, the local lake, the ferry, and a bit of the fjord. The water around Tadoussac is thick with whales. We saw Minkes and belugas on the St. Lawrence and more belugas up the fjord. Even tested it and were able to spot whales right from the bed in our room! (sitting up and with binoculars of course). Had a nice hike up the nearby Adela Lessard trail which continues for many km along the fjord. There are also several short hikes around town. Could have stayed a couple more days.

Helpful host, great stay

Our hostess Madame Lessard welcomed us with a lot of care and explanations about the place. She even went out of her way to lend us a coat to wear on the fjord cruise and reserve us a table at the local restaurant: excellent service! The mattress was very comfortable and clean. The view from the room was breath-taking. The only down-side is there's no hot breakfast provided at this place because the owners are dealing with a family illness, which is understandable. No problem for us as we went to the nearby motel which had the usual eggs & toast fare. Cold breakfast packages however are provided at the Bnb for 8$ extra. We also booked a whale-watching cruise through the Bnb which was very worth-while!

Clean, modern room with view of fjord

Nice comfortable bed. Tiny room with no where to put luggage except on the bed.  No TV.  It would have been nice to have a TV to watch at night.  Owner was nice and had suggestions for dinner.  Noisy when anyone else was in the hallway.

Room was much smaller than expected.

We booked this place mainly for the view which, from posted photos, looked spectacular, and it was. The house appeared large but turned out to be a semi-detached property at the edge of a subdivision just metres from the highway. 
We arrived at the time I had arranged with them, at the same time as another couple - well that couldn't have been more inconvenient for the hostess who, instead of greeting us at all, yelled for another and continued to greet the first couple as we all crammed in to the tiny lobby/guest lounge/used-to-be-a-porch area. We were then greeted by a man who failed to introduce himself until prompted and did not appear to know who he was expecting. 
Now, after seeing photos of large room/s and not getting any choice when we booked on the internet, we were anticipating something larger than the tiny room with closet sized shower room shoulder to shoulder with two other rooms, 3 feet from the front door. We asked if there was a bigger room available and the man took us upstairs to a large 'suite'  and we told him we would love to have that room instead; king bed, private balcony with an even more incredible view. He then disappeared, coming back to tell us that it wasn't actually available. Gee thanks; back to the room with little privacy and NO floor space once suitcases were opened and the numerous bed pillows discarded. There was only a sliding patio door with no other opportunity for ventilation without compromising security, noise reduction and privacy. The location was such that when the large trucks started arriving at or disembarking the ferry(first thing in the morning to last thing at night), all the noise came right up the hill - noisier than most highway hotels. Every noise in the house could also be heard and it sounded like someone rearranging the furniture above us at around 7am.There was no 'do not disturb sign' so, whether you wanted it or not, someone enters your room to tidy it (whether you are there or not?). 
The night before we left, we came back to find a handwritten note demanding cash (we had used our Visa to book the room) but only payable after 9am the next day, so we had to scramble to find an ATM (fortunately a credit union, middle of the village) and delayed our plans to leave in the morning as long as we could.
In summary, despite the cleanliness of the room (you will be encouraged to leave a tip for the 'cleaner' despite the costly room rate), there was absolutely no privacy and the the room surely was too small to be legal. If you do decide to stay here you may want to ensure the top level 'king suite' is available or you may be disappointed, as we were. Will not repeat the "B&B experience" any time soon, certainly not here

Nice view, shame about the rest

La Maison Harvey Lessard is not a B&B if you think the breakfast is included.  For $7 they will provide OJ, a muffin, yogurt and fruit.
  We arrived at 12 noon and were given the room keys.  At 4 pm I was asked to move my f150 to the left by the owner.  A little later I was asked to park it on the street by the owner.  At 8:30 pm, after a beer and two glasses of wine, i was asked to go to the center of town to an ATM to pay for the room as they wanted cash.  I refused.  I offered an e-transfer of the cash but they refused.  They will accept visa but with a surcharge.  Did not understand why they said nothing at 12, 4 and about 5 pm.  
  The low rating is primarily do to the poor sleep we got.  The walls are paper thin as we could hear everything and i am hard of hearing.  This included conversations in the hall, clearing of a throat next door and all the cars and trucks on the hiway.  Felt like we were camping.
  The room is very small ( one night table)
and the bedding smell of cologne.
  When the owner came to ask me to move my vehicle, they told us not to leave the screen door open.  That night my wife was bitten and the bite swelled up to half the size of a marble.  Should have warned us sooner.
  There is a very narrow room to watch tv, make coffee or to heat your food.  I attached photos.
  On the plus side is it does have a great view.
  I regret not returning to Quebec City.
