We booked a room at the resort not having any familiarity with the area. We had a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom unit (104). The word 'resort' does not belong in any description of this place.
It was in terrible condition. Peeling wallpaper, sinks that did not drain properly, stained rugs, smelly shower curtain, disgusting stairwell entrance with plastic chairs that appeared to have dried vomit on them, a pool that was totally unappealing situated in the front lobby for all to see, poor unreliable internet, a patio that is weed infested, etc., etc.
Thankfully we only had 2 evenings to wait out. We did inquire about canceling our 2nd night early the next morning but were told it was non refundable so we basically stayed away from the place until nightfall and then hoped we slept the time away quickly until we could leave.
The bed we slept in was comfortable and the sheets appeared clean as did the towels.
That and the location are the only redeeming factors.
I would never recommend this 'resort' and will never return.
Crappy experience and I don't feel it even deserves 1 star.

Outdated and neglected property

Booked last minute on a Tuesday, told them I might need 2 nights. Booked two nights,checked out early Wednesday and told them I don't need the second night. Charged me for 2 nights and later said was to late for cancelation, which made no sense at all and they never said anything about a cancelationfee or i wouldve never booked the 2nd night as i wasnt sure if i needed two nights (which i told them when booking). Charged me $282.50. No reason at all and I had left at 8am. Borderline criminal offense.

Will never attend here again.

Very nice area, 2 bedroom size very good, nice view to the lake from our room. Outside area could use some upkeep. Thornbury is a very nice town, close to Collingwood and Wasaga Beach, we were able to visit them all.

Location and view very nice.  Bedrooms very small.  Old and outdated furniture and appliances.  Air conditioning very noisy 
No walkout from sliding doors to deck from our unit.  Was not allowed to check out 30 minutes later

Royal Harbour

The living and dining area in the two bedrooms is spacious and comfortable but the room is old and dated.  the staff is friendly and welcoming, and it would be a great place to stay in the summer with close proximity to the marina and water.

Overall this resort was clean and well maintained.  We had a blizzard weather condition, but, the staircases, walkways, and the parking lots were cleared of snow promptly. Stuffs were very helpful and courteous. Angela was exceptional among them. We will visit again soon!

Visit prior to Christmas

Great location overlooking the bay. Unit spacious and all the necessary supplies. Wifi very sporadic. Unit very outdated not very bright. A fresh coat of paint and updating the light fixtures would really help.

Great location but units need to be upgraded.

We really enjoyed our stay.  Staff and management (especially Angela and Sharlene and Kristine) were excellent, as was the maintenance man who fixed our fireplace.  Unit was clean, and there was a fresh rose in a vase on the mantlepiece, which was such a sweet touch.  Great views out the large windows on one side, and a small balcony/sitting area on the other.  Kitchen had pretty well everything one would expect (no blender, which most units seem to have these days).  The wifi is very poor, but staff told us they are switching providers soon and hope that it will be better.  The unit is a bit dated, and the beds, couches and carpeting are probably due to be replaced.  We really appreciated being able to book time to use the indoor pool and hottub; they only allow 2 rooms at a time, which we lliked.  We hope to return soon.  

Spacious unit with gorgeous lake view

We have stayed at Royal Harbour several times and have always enjoyed it.  We still enjoyed our last visit but the prices were WAY higher!  I know, probably due to Covid 19's repercussions.  It's an older place and could use a bit of updating.  However, I love the fact that it's right on the water and that it is close to a lot of sites and activities.  

Prices are now too high, and updating needs to be done.

The first room we were given had tons of mold in the shower.   The mattress was like sleeping on the floor.   We were given another room which was updated but there was still mold on the shower tiles.  I bought Scrubbing Bubbles and cleaned the mold off myself.   You cannot get a refund if you have to leave early.
