Absolutely one of the worst places I have ever stayed. Horrible.
Never will recommend or stay here again. I would have rather stayed in the work truck. Wifi and cell service is almost non existent. Dishes were absolutely disgusting, and I was expected to wash them myself in the middle of a pandemic. Charged a ridiculous $100 for dirty dishes that I apparently left, yet every dish in there when I first arrived was dirty anyways? THE TRAIN IS ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. If you are a light sleeper or the sound of a train going by every hour 150 meters outside your bedroom window will wake you, you will NOT enjoy your stay here. The water smells like sulpher so enjoy your showers! Just an all around awful place to stay and the owner is a complete B. If I could give 0/5 stars I would. Absolutely appalling service, and sorry but it's a pandemic. Clean your own rooms properly and don't expect your guests to do it for you. Also don't quote a $20 dish cleaning charge and end up charging $100. For $130 a night, it's not worth a single dime of that. Very disappointed, displeased and disgusted.

f good WiFi and cell phone service are important to you, you might want to consider staying elsewhere. You can get cell service, but it is spotty and you may have to walk a bit.

But if you are looking for spectacular scenery, forest noises at night, a rustic but well stocked cabin, and friendly hosts, this is the place for you. 

We were greeted by two large, friendly dogs, followed by Micki, our hostess, who is equally friendly. Our every need was accommodated, above and beyond expectations. After a long day driving through the mountains, it was lovely to sit on the front porch of our cabin, drinking a cup of tea, listening to clucking chickens, and looking at the mountains. And occasionally there is a train whistle in the near distance.

Beds were quite comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked, with condiments and spices.

I just wish we could have stayed longer.

One warning - it is northern forest wilderness, and the mosquitos are large and hungry. So come prepared.

Best Stay of our Trip

Great place!...views are Awesome...couldn’t have felt more at home here..Mark and Micky are the greatest hosts along with their dogs Odin,Tyr, Freya & Loki..The cabins are very cozy and clean..everything you need for your stay!

Paradise 

We had a very enjoyable overnight stay here in this beautiful part of the world...a total escape in the wilderness.  The cabins are quaint and rustic, and are so beautifully crafted and extremely comfortable.  Each cabin has everything you need to stay one day or many more.  All you need is your food supplies.  Although, we drove back into Blue River and had a very good dinner at the Sandman restaurant, and then drove ahead the next morning to Valemount at had breakfast at Tim Horton’s.  The host, Mickey, is delightful...very friendly and helpful.  She even directed us to a backroad where we were likely to spot some wildlife.  Unfortunately, wildlife don’t perform on cue and we didn’t see any animals, but we saw a lovely waterfall, so we were content.  And this post would be incomplete, if I didn’t mention the beautiful dogs that run out to welcome every approaching  vehicle.  Excellent watchdogs, they keep the retreat safe but are lovely, gentle animals who love a friendly pat or scratch.  We really wished that we were staying longer.

What a pleasant surprise!
We were greeted by our host Mickeys four enormous dogs that were so loving and gentle but apparently real warriors when confronted by bears. We felt very safe in the middle of bear country when protected by these gentle giants
The cabins were lovely..... very comfortable and well stocked with many extras
Mickey our host was delightful and very welcoming..... we were sad to leave.
Incidentally Mickey one of your face washers dropped into our clothes bag and we discovered it in Jasper so will pop it in the post for you

A rustic chalet and delightful host

Seriously amazing people. Definitely a place to go when you don't want cell service and can just relax in life with family and friends the owners are amazing and so are there animals. You get to see all sorts of wild life on your way in and while you stay! It's a must see place 

The best 

A great cozy place to stay and relax for a few days. Each cabin has it’s own unique touch from the great hosts - Mark and Mickey. Dogs do announce the arrival of new people and some wildlife. Chickens are free range during the day. Loved the wood work on the sinks/cabins and decorating jobs. A good place for fishlng, sledders and an excellent overnight stop over from Edmonton to Vancouver or back. We’ll definitely go back!

Quiet cozy cabins and area

It'll probably be great in winter, but in July there are so many mosquitoes that you'll have to wear a protective suit and still get a spit.
