The room was surprisingly large with a queen bed, sofa, small dining table and kitchenette. The grounds are lovely and a Tim Hortons is within walking distance. It's about a 30 minute drive from the city center of Halifax, but the other hotels in the city were either booked or way over our budget at the time due to multiple events going on.

A Little Gem

Wild fires very close to the motel. Evacuation was in place called the owner 3 days before reservation to cancel and was told no refund for any reason and was told the fire and evacuation zone was 40 miles away an outright lie. The owner manager was very obstinate and not willing to do anything just telling me that I had to cancel 7 days in advance even tho we booked 3 days earlier he said not our problem. Although I can not comment on the motel itself as we did not go. But if this is there attitude with customer's its not a place I would ever consider staying the customer service was absolutely horrible.  Scott

Very clean rooms however with a kitchenette you should be supplied with a few supplies for eating in like paper towels, plastic cutlery and paper plates. Cleaning staff were superb but front desk clerk in the evenings doesn't make an effort to make you feel welcome.

I needed a place to stay for one night, close to St Margaret’s Bay so I could attend a meeting early the next morning. This was one of the few I could find. It was easy to find, but on a busy street. The room was everything you could ask for. Clean, tidy and well appointed. There was a small breakfast nook with mini fridge and microwave. A small LCD TV with cable service was available, as well as fast Internet service. The back window looked onto a lovely lake. Road noise died off after 10:00pm. The only problems for me were a VERY firm bed and stifling heat. The room had n floor heating that wouldn’t stop! The thermostat was set to as low as possible and I kept front and rear windows open all night, but it was still too hot. Other than the heat, it was a pleasant stay. Recommended.

A Shot in the Dark

We were enroute around NS and found this on Trip Advisor. We were not dissappointed, very spacious, clean and with a kitchenette.

It is not far from Halifax and much cheaper!  The manager could have been a bit more friendly?

We ended up in the King Suite as we were lucky enough to get the last room available that evening.  The room was very clean and had a kitchenette type facility that came in handy.  The king bed was very comfortable and we both had a good nights' sleep.  The road is a little busy, but it didn't keep us awake.

More dust than stars with this hotel. Booked with bookings.com and was promised we could cancel if we couldn’t make it. Called back an hour later to the hotel to cancel and the front desk clerk told us off over the phone. Called bookings.com and they told us that we were misinformed so they can’t promise that they’ll be able to do anything either. Total rip off.

Terrible experience - rude and inconsiderate

You can’t beat this nice little motel for the money, it’s about 15 mins from Halifax but quite and clean, it’s on a small lake and the rooms have a nice view, restaurants Tim’s and drug store across the road

Nice and clean

The Stardust provided a clean, quiet place to stay during my 5 day business trip to Halifax. There was a big hockey tournament on that week and every hotel was booked solid which is the only reason I was staying at this motel. The motel is old and has not seen a renovation in years, perhaps never. This is certainly not a place to take your family while on vacation unless price is your only criteria. I also had concerns about parking my rental car as the parking spaces are super tight. As I said, the motel is clean and quiet. The fact remains however that this is a Motel. Expect nothing more.
