After thoroughly researching lodging facilities in the area, I made my booking (end Dec. '21)...directly with the Lodge. (By the way, I hugely recommend this method as it saves a hotel/motel facility a fair bit in fees).
I chose the Lodge, based on its website portrayal and apparent amenities which looked cheery and inviting. It seemed a perfect choice to end a 4 day motorcycle trip with friends.
Upon arrival, Natalie seemed genuinely surprised at our drowned-rat situation as we had be riding all day in torrential rains and heavy winds.  We were cold, wet and glad to be off the road. 
To Natalie's credit, she DID offer to run our sopping duds through the dryers which was muchly appreciated and would have made for a higher rating here.
The problem however stems from the fact that what had drawn me to the Lodge, was, we discovered, not going to be part of the deal. She told us the pub was closed. So, no food or drink.  It wasn't as though we could pop next door; the nearest food was in Tweed, 20 minutes away) We were told we'd have to mount our bikes again in the still-pouring rain and find ourselves some place in Tweed.
Given our state of mind and body, that was not going to happen.
I tried calling a restaurant in Tweed re delivery and got a terse response that they were NOT coming to Stoco Lake  Lodge.
Lodge personnel were well-aware their services were 'down' but it appears.....they valued the 3 incoming room revenues over integrity.
Bottom line: huge disappointment.  No where near as advertised and further, the rooms seemed quite beaten from age and rough use.
In the morning, the 3 of us felt fairly horrid from no food since noon the previous day.
I was embarrassed at having made this choice. I have no idea how the Lodge could charge what they do. Poor value.

Stoco Lake Lodge: Major disappointment

Where to start.. We booked for a wedding. There would be no one at front desk so we were told our key would be given to another wedding guest to give to us. Really?? Meanwhile, there were room switches between the guests so we did not get the room we booked. It was much smaller and a queen size bed instead of king size. I don't know if it was dust or sand (small beach is near) but the floor was covered. There was no hot water for the shower and drain was full of hair and small junk. Gross. There was an ashtray full of cigarette butts on our little patio set outside our door. Good thing view was nice, food and drinks were good at the pub. To end it all, no one at front desk for check out.  We had to flag someone who made a call. Terrible. Never again.

Disappointed

You'd be better off just sleeping in your car and save yourself some money. You're lucky if there is hot water or even staff around to look after your basic needs. The restaurant above the rundown motel isn't very busy and has a hard time keeping staff. Found hair in my food. Would never return. The far the worst accusations for miles and miles. Resort lol far from it.

Stay clear of this place. Poorly maintained.

We spent a weekend here with some friends and had a great time. The staff was more than friendly and made sure our stay was fun. The room ( upper floor ) was small but clean and had everything we needed. The beach was a nice treat. Because of covid we couldn't order room service or dine in but the local pizza place delivered and the food was amazing.  Hopefully when this pandemic is over we get to go back and enjoy it's full glory. Steve s

Decent place.

Attended an event here recently and had to use the washroom/shower area on the lower level and was totally disgusted.  There was a prominent mold/mildew/moisture smell through the entire facility but when I went into the washroom/shower area I saw that there was mold on all the walls and ceiling.  I'm not saying a little grey/black smudge in a couple of corners...I'm talking massive coverage that has obviously been accumulating a LONG time. I'm positive this place must have spores going throughout the whole facility, including the restaurant directly above the washroom/showers.

MOLD!!!

Booked a night via Booking.com (will never use again) and went from bad to worse. If we had not been tired would have forgone the money we paid and left. The owner was beyond rude to me when asked about things the website mentioned. Stated that what do we expect for $100. Incredible. Told me to “lose my attitude” when asking about coffee maker in the room and wifi everywhere. 
Better to pull over and sleep in your car.

Awful place despicable lack of respect by the owner

No a/c, no wifi, no tv in room, NO HOT WATER, filthy and disgusting, lousy beds. Just attended an event there and will never go back. It is clear that the owner spends no money on his property and is happy with drunken parties where nobody cares. I can say the food in the restaurant was good.

It's a dump.

Amazing place, amazing staff, amazing everything! A charming, unique, charismatic, beautiful place at an affordable price to stay at. Clean hotel. Fluffy towels. Great atmosphere (relaxing and beautiful during the day and mornings. Adventurous and a little spooky at night). Horses strolling by at 3 am in the morning was a fun experience :) Unfortunately for us it was only a rest stop on our way home from a road trip, however we will be back for sure to enjoy it and explore. Thank you for making it so adventurous and memorable!

If you're looking for luxury accommodations, this ain't it.

If you're looking for a place to park your tent and hang out by a lake, this will do. We went with friends and we had a great time because, we have awesome friends and we brought everything we needed for camping. It was not because of the park.

There is a small decently kept beach. There is a bandshell in case someone needs to use. The showers are unlikely to have hot water. The hot water is provided by a wood burning heater. Watch for the smoke from the hut before trying to use a communal shower. The water from the taps runs at the rate of a large dog's drool. The building is pretty filthy and outdated.

There are some zebra muscles in the area so watch out in the water as they are very sharp. Also, stay away from the weeds in the water as there can be leeches.
