A beautiful place to stay, whether in the main lodge, cabins, or RV campground area... 

We found this place as a last minute booking as we needed to find somewhere near Valemount - and boy, did we fall on our feet! Where can I start - the view of the glacier from the garden, the stunningly lovely grounds, the beautiful log built lodge with a great kitchen area and open-plan dining / sitting room. The hummingbirds flying around the feeder. The peace and quiet.... 
The owners, Teri and his wife, are great - Teri was very quick at responding to queries, we felt so looked after and welcomed. The staff who were there to help look after us when we arrived (Campbell and Emily) couldn't have been kinder or more helpful - we got a bit muddled up with the booking, but they sorted it all out and were incredible, I can't thank them all enough.

We stayed in their deluxe en-suite rooms, with wonderful comfortable beds, en-suite bathrooms with double sink with beautiful traditional hand-painted panels, marble tops and a really luxurious power shower!

It felt like a home from home - most of the stay we had the whole lodge to ourselves (it isn't accessible for the campers), as it wasn't that busy (surprisingly). We were able to serve ourselves delicious breakfasts (they provide eggs, bread, jams, honey, peanut butter, milk, tea, coffee, cereal, etc) and cook our own meals or go out locally to eat. We also used their huge outdoor BBQ (great for steaks, and we had toasted marshmallows / s'mores!). They keep the place immaculately clean, including inside the lodge and grounds.

We didn't quite brave a dip in their glacial river creek, but enjoyed the breathtaking views sitting on the swing bench or garden seats outside, admiring the plants, mountains and glacier....
A wonderful place to spend a few days in summer, but I note that they also run great winter breaks too.... Highly recommend! If you do go, the family recommend the Blue River Safari nearby and we ate out in Valemount nearby at the Caribou Grill.... 

(The reason there's no recent reviews before this is difficult to understand until you realise their site was used by workers for a pipeline locally for a while.)

A breath-taking view of glacier, log cabins, welcoming staff, spacious grounds - a real find!

The owners were very friendly, the lodge is beautiful, and the grounds are well kept. There is a creek that runs through the back of the property for cooling off in if you don’t mind swimming in a glacier-fed stream! 
Only downfall is the train runs through the front on the property.

Great place to stay

We absolutely loved our stay at Summit River Lodge. Terry and Lisa were fantastic hosts, they went out of their way to make us feel at home and welcomed us into their family. The house is lovely, really cosy and full of character and the surrounding area is truly beautiful. One evening Lisa invited us to have dinner with them and we enjoyed a fun filled evening around the campfire which was one of the highlights of our trip to Canada! Thank you Terry and Lisa for such a wonderful stay - it was really great to meet you and your lovely family! James and Ruth

Wonderful Hosts and a Stunning Location

Lisa and Terry are super hosts at Valemont, BC. We stayed there when we were travelling Jasper, AB. The lodge is beautiful and the campsite is awesome with rivers along with it. Plus they prepare good breakie for you to enjoy the slow life in mountain ⛰. It is a perfect getaway from city. 20 minutes to town of Valemont. There is Mont Robson just 30minutes away from the lodge. 1.5 hr drive to Jasper area to bump into some wild animals during our rides. 2 hrs to Miette Hot Springs. 7 hours if you drive down to Whistler, and for sure you can stop by Kamloops in between the west coast ride. 🙂 Thank you for giving us a wonderful vacation.

Great Wooden Lodge with beautiful mountains nearby

True Canadian hospitality! The vistas are stunning and the log cabin lodge is beautiful. We had warm welcome  from Terry & Lisa. To top it off coffee was on when we got up and Terry was cooking us breakfast. 

WOW!!! What a beautiful place. 

Have had a chance to stay here both through the sled season, and now the summer camping season. In the summer Terry & Lisa are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area for all the tourist attractions. In the winter, you are greeted with excellent dinner dining, prepared at the hands of Lisa. As well in the mornings you get a great breakfast made by terry before a long day sledding. All in all, wonderful people and one of valemounts best kept secrets. I would recommend staying here to anyone.
