Having spent several months here we felt part of the family.  Margaret and Nic made us feel very welcome and provided us with many great trip ideas which we followed up. From the moment we contacted Margaret from Australia we felt confident in making our base here for our "Senior's Gap Year". Accommodation was fantastic, provided all the comforts of home and also enjoyed the private garden space. Closed to all shopping needs as well as a very well serviced transport bus route. Just a short walk to nearby parks which overlooked the beautiful waterways.

Great hosts, great location, wished we could have stayed!

We just like to thank Margaret for being a wonderful host.   Upon stepping inside from a cold wet day the accommodation was heated,  warm and inviting. Margaret checked in with us the following day for any queries or concerns -which we had none. Extremely clean with all the comforts of home.  Well located, very close to town in a quiet neighbourhood.

Clean and homely

I found this place accidentally in a computer search. It is a series of small apartments located in a large private home in a neighborhood near Jericho Beach, just a couple of blocks from the water and 3 blocks from 4th Avenue, which has a high end grocery IGA and nice restaurants over a broad stretch. I chose a really comfortable studio apt with high quality furniture, kitchen facilities, good wifi, comfy bed and an attentive owner who made sure I was comfortable and satisfied. For some the down side will be that it is not downtown. But I found I could take the bus just 3 short blocks away and get downtown in 20 minutes. The neighborhood is what makes Vancouver so special - lovely houses on quiet flowered streets. The price was very reasonable and far preferable to the lousy hotels that you get downtown at higher prices. I will try to return here. It is by the way a great place if you want to attend the Vancouver Folk Festival, just a 15 minute walk away.

Comforts of Home in a Lovely Neighborhood far from Downtown

Stayed in the garden suite for 3 weeks and the accommodation proved to be a fantastic and spotlessly clean place to stay.  Margaret could not have been more helpful and we felt very much at home.  Great choice of convenience stores and restaurants nearby and a lovely walk takes you along to Kitsilano which is such a wonderful area of Vancouver. Local transport only a very short walk away.  Would thoroughly recommend this to anyone visiting Vancouver for short or somewhat longer stay.

Very comfortable and lovely neighbourhood

We were in Vancouver to visit our daughter and the site is convenient to UBC and close to all Kits has to offer. It is truly a suite - part of a converted coach house we coveted but was booked. There was a welcome basket of fruit and a small kitchen with coffeemaker, small fridge, dishwasher and microwave. There was also a full selection of teas and coffee.
This is a good place for a weekend, as it is very small. There was nearby side street parking.
The owners were amenable and welcoming via email, as they were out of town for the weekend.
It went for a fair price and if you don't want or have to be downtown, this is a good alternative.


Great location and cozy suite

We stayed here for 4 nights and were very pleased with our choice. On previous visits to Vancouver we stayed in a downtown hotel, but now that we've discovered this charming option we will be staying here when visiting Vancouver.

Easily found in a quiet neighbourhood in Kitsilano, this accommodation is in close walking distance to restaurants and Jericho Beach.; downtown is a short drive away. 

We stayed in the Garden Studio, an exceptionally clean and spacious room that was a naturally cool retreat from the unusually hot weather during our stay. From the street you approach the studio by a private garden path which ends with a private trellis-shaded deck. The studio is nicely furnished and the bed provided a very comfortable sleep. 

Margaret is a very attentive yet unobtrusive host who lives on the property. There are three very polite resident cats that occasionally appeared on the deck while travelling to and fro but they are not permitted inside the studio and suite and in fact showed no interest at all in entering.

We highly recommend staying at Margaret's Kitsilano Garden Suites. I know we've found our perfect "go to place" for future visits to Vancouver.
