Perfectly positive experience; we'd go back. We booked the Oriental Room as a one night getaway from kids and Humboldt House delivered! Our room was lovely and spacious with sunken jacuzzi tub, and king bed. It was quiet and was the therapy we were long overdue. There was even a CD player with a small selection of music - nice touch. Breakfast delivered to your room is a treat and just what you really want. The food was delicious and more than enough. You have key to your room and you can come/go as you wish. Its walking distance to most things downtown and they provide parking.

Romantic therapy and the getaway we needed

We slept here for two nights in this lovely and characteristic B&B. There was nothing missing, a little sophisticated breakfast, but nice the idea of doing room service.

We stayed in late August for 3 nights to celebrate our Anniversary and did we make the right decision. It started when we walked in and our host Matt telling us that he upgraded us since it was our Anniversary, seeing a little bottle of bubbly and truffles waiting for us to THE best breakfasts that were delivered to our room via a dumb waiter! The room beautiful and elegant and very victorian, a canopied bed, deep tub bath for two and a table for two with fresh cut flowers by the window to eat breakfast on! 

Located only a few blocks from the Empress & Parliment buildings and abutted to a park/old nunnery it was really quiet in the night yet so close to all the attractions and restaurants. We didn't use our car once. 

Thanks to all the people at Humbolt House that made our stay special. We will be back...



3 days of Bliss...

We loved the quaint home and our beautiful room, Oriental. Sunken Jacuzzi tub with hand-held shower was very nice for someone who's spent the past five years without a bathtub!  Location is perfect for walking to points of interest, shopping and many dining choices. On-site parking is a plus since street parking always appears full. Breakfasts are served thru a "Magic Cupboard" at a set time based on a sign-up sheet in the entrance. One room every 20 minutes gets you hot food attractively prepared and delicious. There are 3 breakfast choices daily. Since it's a Historical home, no 
a/c but with windows open it was very comfortable. A bit of street noise but nothing significant. Close to the Harbour so seagulls can be heard. If steps are a problem, request a ground floor room. We loved our first visit to Victoria. And DON'T miss Butchart Gardens!!

A place where you feel so at home and welcomed. Matt the manager was a jewel, the location was a 10++ in walking distance to everything, our breakfast was a 10++ we did not want to leave. we will be back, we hope every year. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

A dream come true

This gem of an old house appealed to my wife and I from the outside; the spacious room with its own private lounge/ dining area and large ensuite bathroom exceeded our expectations as did the whole interior decor. We were met in a most welcoming manner by a very helpful manager.The delicious, copious breakfast, superbly presented in a basket and served punctually through a discreet hatch was a highlight on each of the two days we spent at Humbolt House. Centrally located, In a  remarkably quiet location, within walking distance of the City centre, the Harbour, the Royal BC Museum, The Legislative Assembly, shops and restaurants, this exceptional B&B will not disappoint as a port of call.

Outstanding charm and hospitality in Victoria BC Canada.

This place is really great, very nice like a princess's room. The people who take care of the B&B are very helpful. We had half a bottle of sparkling wine and 2 homemade truffles from our arrival. The cookies offered at the entrance are sour!!! And breakfast... The best!!!! Servis ds a pic basket Nic ds the room, it was absolutely magical!!!! There is a jacuzzi and a wood fire (we didn't light it to avoid the smell of ash Apres). We tested 2 different rooms as in the meantime we went to Tofino. And the 2 rooms were too good!!!! I recommend this place. My husband and I really loved it!!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

That's wonderful!

A superb bed & breakast with very successful decoration, very well situated and very warm welcome.Breakfast crackers and hot chocolate fill our appetite.

A little nest that's crouched

We chose this B&B based on the trip-advisor reviews of course, but also for its situation. The reception was perfect. The rooms (the Mikado, but we also had the opportunity to see another one) are spacious and furnished in an original and fun way. It's modern, new and immediately very pleasant. The bathroom part has a Jacuzzi (at least in both rooms seen). The breakfast, ordered the day before is served, rather originally in the room in the form of a kind of picnic basket delivered by a pass-up. Everything is there and everything is very good. Globalement, a very good souvenir.

Original and well located

I spent a week at the B&B and I can only give an enthusiastic judgement of my experience. Breakfast was simply sublime, served in the room by the very interesting landlord, a former French pastry chef. The environment is cozy, clean and driven by a friendly and homey atmosphere. The location is very convenient to get to the convention center and the city center on foot and quickly. Surely a place to return.
