Why isn't this delightful Inn listed on Trip Advisor in Wallace N.S.  Have never stayed here overnight, but the meals are the best on the North Shore of Nova Scotia.  Our lovely hosts, Carol who is the chef, her hubby and son, are extremely gracious, and treat their customers like family. Meals are a set menu, served on large platters suitable for sharing, and have different themes.  Each meal consists of an appetizer salad (enough for a full meal) a mango lassi, a main course which varies with the theme, desert of pavlova or tiramisu, and wonderful coffee, and tea. Our salad was marinated and grilled prime rib with organic veggies and Thai dressing.  Our Main was a beautifully presented seafood platter of mussels, lobsters, shrimps, scallops, salmon and haddock, each with it's own sauce, with veggies and pasta salad.  Carol had even placed us in the lovely window seat with a "congratulations" banner on the window. This establishment does not serve wine, but they welcome you to bring your own beverage, with a very small corkage fee.
NOTE:  Bring your empty stomachs and don't be in a hurry!

Wonderful Anniversary Meal

We had a one night stay and were very pleased with the accommodation and the hospitality. We were warmly greeted even though we arrived quite late due to a flight delay. The breakfast was excellent and the hosts were kind and accommodating. I would definitely book again.

Astonishingly this really excellent restaurant did not appear on the list of dining venues in Wallace. The owners are charming and very attentive providing a dining experience which we would consider to be excellent. The meal had a regional theme, related in our case to Asian cuisine. The presentation was very appealing and the meal quite delicious.To my mind this is one of the best dining establishments in Northern Nova Scotia. While we may have had more sumptuous meals in many different parts of the world this was without doubt one of our best experiences and should not be missed given the opportunity to visit the area.

Great dining in Wallace

Stayed 1 night, mid August, 2020 at the Jubilee Cottage, Wallace, NS. Located just outside Wallace – a 10 to 15 minute drive to Northumberland Links or Fox Harb’r golf resort.
 
There is so much history and character to this cottage and when you step in it feels so welcoming. Carol and Greg made our stay very special. You must have the set menu supper in the Qi Sera Dining room. It was one of the best meals we’d ever had anywhere. You can chose from 4 or 5 menus. We chose the “Now and Zen” Asian menu (3 courses) $48 each plus tax and $5 corkage fee. The Pan fried haddock with a touch of Thai green curry was wonderful. All beautifully plated. Fresh ingredients. Their COVID-19 policy of only allowing one family to stay at one is great. Who cares about a bit of peeling wall paper when the character of this cottage is so lovely. It’s very clean. We had the Blue Heron bedroom which had a sofa, wood burning stove (not that we needed it!) and a very comfortable bed. Lovely breakfast, very fresh and beautifully served. Watch out though, they are located next to the water and the mosquitos can attack you as soon as you get out of your car, so be quick with your mozzie spray! We will definitely stay there again when we are in the area.

The bed advertised as a queen was a double, The sheets were very soft and clean . Its like visiting your grandmas house in the 60s, STUFF EVERYWHERE and a lot of it unneseccary  not antiques just dated things .

I HAD THOUIGHT THEY DID DINNER THERE BUT FOUND OUT ITS ONLY ON SPECIAL REQUEST BEFORE ARRIVAL.
it worked for a quick stop in wallace but likely woulnt return  ALTHOUGH THE OWNERS WERE VERY PLEASANT AND BREAKFAST WAS EXCELLENT ,price was also pretty good

GREAT BREAKFAST LOVELY HOSTS

I was booked for 2 nights in Mid September 2021. I booked online and as a result, tried to book dining online for the duration of our stay. The website was extremely slow, so I called the Jubilee Cottage Inn directly. The owner advised me that the dining option was no longer available due to her husband’s illness, but there “may be” other dining options in Tatamagouche. This has not been updated on the website and was the primary reason for our visit. I cancelled the trip, but was still advised that there was a $25 cancellation fee. I was told that if I had mentioned that I was staying for the dining, I would have been advised that it was no longer available. As I booked online, I can’t  see how this would have been possible without a follow-up from the hotel. 
I am disappointed with the lack of information and honesty on the website about the services available and can’t recommend the customer service.

Not as advertised

I am shocked at the glowing reviews I see on Trip Advisor for the Jubilee Inn.  My daughter and I stayed there two weeks ago ( June 2018) after finding it online.  The photos looked great so we booked one night.  What a disappointment!  The photos were obviously taken many years ago by the previous owners.  Carol is a lovely person and breakfast was excellent BUT the entire property is in a state of disrepair and neglect.  Outside, the gardens are completely overgrown with weeds, the grass not cut, although someone did cut it after we arrived.  It had not been cut in a long time.  Inside was shocking... the wallpaper is peeling on every single wall in the house.  Every seam is peeled back and the wallpaper is old and stained.  The house is cluttered with outdated knick knacks, piles of books and boxes lining the downstairs hall, all furniture is in very poor condition, outdated and wood in need of refinishing/painting.  I could go on but suffice it to say this is fair warning ...although it was very clean and the food was good, do not book a night here if you are looking for pleasing, charming decor.
