Property location is definitely a 5/5. In the heart of the village with access to endless amounts of activities & restaurants. However the property itself is lacking. It’s old, outdated, in desperate need of an update. Unit was large and spacious but everything was old and honestly smelled very old and dusty.  We stayed here because our friend owns a timeshare and couldn’t use her week this year. I’m glad we didn’t pay full price to stay here. I def would not recommend it. There are plenty of other really nice, updated places to stay in the village.

Great location but units and building desperately need updating

Nightmare of a stay!
Old, disgusting, smelly carpet through out the unit. Very run down and odd smelling unit. Owners/managements have no care of these unit. We stayed in one of the larges unit with Hot Tub. That did not work in our stay.

Our kids did not even want to walk in the unit and sleep in the beds. Couch was very dirty with stains.

-There is NO Air Conditioner in entire building. If you keep the windows open it is very noisy. Only some old fans. Especially at night. Noise did not end until 4am.
-Very old and run down furniture. 
-Very Old and dirty dark brown carpet through the unit
-Our kids beds had bed bugs. The management did not address the issue, nor taking any responsibility. The mattresses are very old.
-There is no check-in desk. You are mainly on your own. If there are issues you they will send various repair people and you deal with them!
-The hot tub water was dirty and did not work. Repair guy was sent with no use. This was reported by many guests in review, still the issues were not resolved. We did not get to enjoy the hot tub.
-through out the unit the window coverings are falling apart...

PRO:
-Good washrooms
-Location. (if you like to be in centre of noise)

For similar price go for a hotel option. Lots of options in the area. Dont be fooled with images posted by the resort.

Stay Away! -NO AC... Old, Dirty, Smelly, Bed bugs.. worst than Cheap Motel!!!

We stayed at village gate house (unit 310) for 2 nights. Online check in worked fine and I received detailed instructions on how to access the condo upon arrival. However, the actual check-in was not so smooth:

Entering the unit with the provided code worked fine but there was no parking swipe card on the counter (as promised in the email) so we couldn't park the car. Called the hotline and they send someone to bring it - unfortunately there was a miscommunication so I waited half an hour
outside in the cold while the card was deposited upstairs after 10 min or so (which I only found out after calling again)

The condo itself has seen better years and looked a little outdated but it was well maintained and the bed & sofas are quite comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped!

The bathroom really needs another light above the shower/tub, that corner of the room is very dark, especially after sunset.

Overall satisfactory

Great 2 Bedroom Condo with loft and spacious living area, includes little balcony and close to everything that spells Whistler. Parking was a little tricky to figure out at first. But really enjoyed the nicely furnished spaces and King bed. Nice loft with 2 Twin beds for kids or grandparents! Even tried the pull out in the middle floor living room which was very comfortable as well. Lots of closets too!

3 Level condo with hot tub in central location Whistler Village

perfect location in the middle of town . walk to mountain and all the restaurants.  Easy to find . clean open concept . Great Shower with stream room which was a pleasant surprise.  Good support when we needed it.

mid summer, Whistler, no air conditioning in the unit. Cools off at night but there’s this hot tub that you cannot shut off, jets going continuously. Guess where its, in the master bedroom. We had to sleep on the couch just to get away from the noise, and not sleep very good. I asked if they could shut it off for tonigt, but the answer was, blab, balb, balb, NO.
This place, not a repeat for me.

Whats with the hot tub running continuously

Absolutely brilliant apartment!!! A master bedroom with a king sized bed, hot tub, fireplace and steam room / shower on the second floor, a full kitchenette, living room with sofa bed, fireplace and dining room one the third floor, plus a loft with 2 single beds!!!

Skis and snowboard storage on the ground floor.

High security with door codes to enter the building and different codes for the apartment doors.

Great for a slice of Whistler life experience. Village Gate House is right in the Village, and the units are huge and comfortable. We had a personal, private hot tub and a delicious steam tap installed in our master shower. Whistler Village is right outside your door and the condos are very low maintenance, secure and mostly quiet considering Whistler is a party town, so expect a few hoots and hollers extending well into the wee hours. 

Great for a getaway even in the off- season when the Village is slightly less bustle than usual. $15 per day resort fee is reasonable considering the free parking and all the amenities. Loved the recycling/compost bins and the reminders to be environmentally responsible. This is more like a homestay rather than a resort, so do not expect housekeeping or room service. 

Check- in is in Creekside, a little way down the road before you reach the Village, so take note of that! Very easy and comfortable. Coming again when we can.

We were very happy with our stay at this resort. The unit was way larger than we had expected. The unit spanned 3 floors which isn’t usually the case in whistler. We loved the location and the in suite hot tub. The only complaint is the lack of bike storage. It would be nice if the ski locker was available to store our bikes. 

Village Gate House Whistler

If you are arriving by bus from YVR to bus loop at whistler you have to take a taxi 4k away to collect the info for access and will cost you around 30$. return. The TV didn't work and the reception couldn't trouble shoot it??? As you can see by the photos not so great. I think this company is a property management and not a hotel so none of the regular services are available. I will not stay here again! Room seems to be clean and close to the action.
