Do not waste your money. This listing is all lies. No fireplace no refrigerator no hot breakfast no homemade anything. The smoked salmon left on the counter at check in is intended for the following morning - after spending 14 to 16 hours at room temperature. Grossly unappealing. Stale bought pastries. No operating sauna. Grossly overpriced

Just WOW.  Plan on booking for more than one night or you will regret it.  We had the two bedroom cabin, which includes a washer & dryer.  The place is pretty, spotless, and very comfortable.  The fridge and cupboards are full of goodies that will expand your waistline.  Our hostess was gracious and accommodating.  Good hot water and WiFi.  Peaceful setting in the woods outside Whitehorse.  We've already booked our next stay.

Loved the 2-bedroom Cabin

The listing for the 2-bedroom cabin is misleading. The quoted price only allows access to one bedroom ($35 a night to use a bed in the second room);  we were only allowed to use the kitchen in the cabin for making breakfast (otherwise an extra $10 per day) and the laundry facilities cost $5 a load.  The wood stove (no fireplace) had a note attached saying we weren’t allowed to light it and many of the cupboards/cabinets were chained and padlocked. The kitchen was well-stocked with cold breakfast items (muffins, Danish, smoked salmon) but none of those items were refreshed even though we were booked for multiple days. If we wanted a hot breakfast, we had to cook it ourselves. The other cabins are provided breakfast in the main house but the 2-bedroom cabin is considered to be “self contained “.

I booked this stay for me and my elderly father while we visited with relatives in the area. Contrary to the other reviews I read, Sharon was not friendly or a good hostess to us. She was hostile toward us right from the start, to the point where we felt so unwelcome that we checked out early. 

I believe we were great guests (even made our own beds each day) and we only made one request which was for bread for toast (Sharon told us to buy it ourselves). When I needed help with the TV I was yelled at for calling at 9:20 pm and waking her up. The final straw came when my uncle and cousin (a disabled war vet) joined us at the cabin for a short visit before we all went out for dinner. Since the cabin is self-contained we didn’t expect there to be a problem with them visiting on the porch for an hour but she called me very upset to say they weren’t welcome and needed to leave immediately. Although I apologized and explained that I was unaware that she had this rule, she berated me and from that point onwards was very hostile.

To sum up, I hope our experience was unique. For anyone booking, I strongly recommend you ask about all costs and rules beforehand to avoid trouble.

The breakfasts described on the web are not what we received. The refrigerator was stocked with fresh apples and oranges, but also stale cinnamon rolls and Danish, and smoked salmon with cream cheese. We were afraid to try the salmon and cream cheese after knowing how stale the pastries were. The chocolate chip cookies left out for us were also stale. The cabin was full of a lot of knickknacks and was very cluttered. Lots and lots of rules like no shoes in the house and you can't bring in your own pillows or blankets. It was clean but smelled very strongly of cleaning solutions.

Not what we expected

I honestly never felt more welcome in a stranger's home than I did when I stayed here. The owner greeted me and welcomed me to the property and left a handful of delicious treats in the room. The room was full of brochures for Whitehorse, which was highly appreciated.  Breakfast was amazing!! This place books up fast,  so don't dilly dally!!

Felt like a member of the family!

The Triple B is situated just south of the Alaska Hwy in a secluded neighborhood a few miles east of Whitehorse.  In anticipation of our late (9pm) arrival, Sharon left apples, muffins, and fruit juice for us in the cabin - a welcome snack after a long day on the road.  Our overnight accommodation was the one-room “honeymoon” cabin.  Whereas such a name might imply certain expectations, guests can be sure to find a bed, a small desk, a small table, and just enough space for their luggage.  The cabin’s interior wood-paneled walls feature posters commemorating Yukon’s natural history.  Of greatest interest is the caribou skull, complete with antlers, occupying the wall near the door.  Separate bathroom facilities were located adjacent to the main house, a short walk across the drive.   Breakfast was not as elaborate as Sharon planned, due to a short-term power outage that morning.  We understood the circumstances and readily settled for juice and blueberry pastry before a second long travel day.  In light of our intensive travel plans, staying at the Triple B allowed us anticipate and then enjoy a better night’s rest than sleeping in our tent.

Rest for the travel-weary

We stayed in the Honeymoon cabin for one night in August.  The cabin had homemade muffins and fresh fruit as well as the fixings for coffee, tea and a carton of juice, and tons of reading material. Excellent Wi-Fi and cell coverage.

Eggs Benedict for breakfast with an hour of conversation with the hosts.

A delightful find in Whitehorse.
