It’s an old building but it was clean and inviting. The owners were wonderful with taking us in near to midnight on the 23rd of December. We had just come out of the ER and blew a beaker using a heater within minutes of arriving. Far from being upset, they were very understanding and accommodating. They gave us a great deal on a 2 night stay and were all together lovely. The room was already warm for a healthy person but for a 70lbs person, it was cold. The bedding was the usual for a hotel but it was a comforting surprise to find real duvets as backup in the drawer! I highly recommend this stay and will be going back if I need a place to stay in WL.

Wonderful owners!

Very basic motel; everything worked (except TV and that was because I couldn't be bothered to figure out the remote), but old and in need of renovations.  I didn't mind that so much, but I ended up paying $80 before taxes and the room was only worth - at best - about $50.  So it's the value for money that I'm complaining about.  The next night I stayed at the Coast Inn for $20 more and had a far better room that included breakfast.  no comparison!

Spent one night here

So disappointing, we arrived after a seven hour drive to be welcomed by filthy rooms, bleach splattered bed linen, badly made beds and a disgusting bathroom. Outside each room was a bench with ashtrays screwed down and overflowing with cigarette butts. Only stay here if it's the last room left in town! This is what happened to us because of the forest fires. The most depressing night I've spent in Canada.

Literally Appalling

We were forced to stay here due to the wildfires in the area. The price is a little steep for not offering anything more then coffee in the room, for breakfast. The  coffee machine in our room looked so nasty we wasnt sure if we wanted to touch it..let alone make  coffee in it.

The beds were sloppily made. The floors are disgusting. There is so much dust on the baseboards or seems like a different color. They do not clean behind the furniture there are clearly spills behind the night  table. 

The mini fridge was disgusting. I can't imagine the last time it was cleaned. There was a bag ice in the freezer stuck so bad we could hardly get it out to use for our ice packs. Not that you really wanted to use the dirty fridge. But we had no choice.

The bathroom at first glance is clean. However upon further inspection you realize the walls floors and ceiling are filthy. The level of cleanliness provided by this motel is severely lacking. 

My recommendations is pay the extra fee and move on somewhere else. 

The do offer the worldest  smallest shampoo and conditioner and bars of soap. 

Oh, and our smoke detector was literally laying on top of the entertainment cabniet. Not even useable. So  I am shocked they even are still able to be licensed as I read in previous reviews that other rooms have the same issue.

The old air conditioner did not even cool off the room after 8 hours it was very sad.. at 35 degrees outside to have a hot sleep.



Poor Housekeeping

My husband booked this hotel a couple nights before we arrived for four adults in a "deluxe" double occupancy room with kitchen. When we got there on August  7, 2017, the man at the desk was spinning a story about a "white woman" who had called to cancel the room. (My husband is not white). Good thing my husband had a record of the confirmation for the room. Since when does a hotel take the word of some random white woman on a telephone when deciding to cancel a room in someone else's name??  When that didn't work, he had another story:  there's no power in the rooms!!  Which was very puzzling, since we could see lights on in several rooms, including the no vacancy sign.  Then this guy tried to say the rate was almost double what our booking said it was. When my husband showed him proof online of our agreed upon rate he backed down. We decided to wait around to see what would happen. While waiting, we checked online for other hotels, because we already had a bad feeling about this one. It turns out that because of the forest fires in the area, every room in the city was booked. Then we realized what was happening. He was trying to get us to leave so he could rent our room for almost double the price!  Well, we finally got into the room. The power was working fine, although it took half the night for the air conditioning to cool the room sufficiently enough to sleep. The "deluxe" room had only double sized beds, so kind of small, but that was okay. The bathroom tile on the floor was cracked in many places, and the tub had an awful crusty, rusty colour all around the grout. Anything but deluxe in my opinion. I would definitely not recommend it for anyone but desperate. Only reason I didn't go with a "terrible " rating was because it was reasonably clean.

I took the poor reviews on here with a pinch of salt, and stayed here because it was relatively cheap. If the next cheapest place is $10 more, go for that. Highlights in my room included a 2-week old tin of beans in the fridge, most of the lights not working, a smoke detector with battery wires hanging out of it, and a bathroom door stuck in the half-open position. Not clean (cobwebs).
