I have been travelling to this resort for several years now  and it is perfect every time. This resort was everything I wanted for a quite relaxing holiday and a complete recharge 
Ideally located next to the beach. It has been great to see the resort progress since it has been built. Clenliness staff pools location weather the sound of the waves crashing off the beach under the moon cannot wait to go back!

Paradise Indeed

Resort is about a quarter complete and the entry is not great past half completed apartments. However the completed part is good and leads onto the beach with good swimming pools too. We got a very good deal so it was not expensive , but the three bed apartment was very well appointed. Downside is distance to supermarket so taxi required as no facilities nearby. Taxi €10 return . Food is expensive as all imported. Weather great though. So if you are happy reading a book and sunning yourself this could be holiday for you if you want more you need to go elsewhere.

Quiet but good quality accomodation

We had a 2 week holiday here the last 2 weeks of August 2016.  We were "sold" the idea of 7 swimming pools, pool bars, an onsite mini shop. In reality there was one dirty pool available, which we couldn't use at least 3 of the days we were there. And no pool bars open. I was fully aware it was off season, but I was not informed the facilities would be shut. In fact I only found out about this a week before we flew, and that was via this forum. When I contacted the owner and the resort I was told the other pools were shut for cleaning/maintenance and any parts needed have to come from Europe do cannot guarantee they will be open any time soon. The pool bar staff apparently were on their holidays. I have this in writing via email. However, speaking to 3 different owners on the resort when we were there we were told a very different story. The pools have been shut for weeks. The pool bars the same. And they won't be open any time soon until the owners who haven't paid their service rents pay. The reason they haven't paid is because the facilities have been closed! With our specific villa we were told all the building work was complete. As you can see from the view from our terrace that is not the case. This building has been like that for at least 2 years. Our accommodation was situations at the edge of the compound which was immediately next to the Melia Dunas Hotel (Thomson all inclusive - I don't need to say any more) it was noisy in the evenings when the dj fired up. The beach nearest the compound is not suitable for swimming. The nearest nice bit of beach is 20 minutes walk left to Preta Porta that has a small beach bar/restaurant. The food is ok and worth the walk. Don't attempt at night as there are no lights. ON site reception was available, but gave the impression we were annoying. We wouldn't have bothered her if we had sufficient items in our villa. It's supposed to sleep 8. 3 cups ... 3 glasses... No scissors, no decent broom, but were supplied when we asked. The service fees are ridiculous. Don't buy the wifi/TV. Buy a dongle in town. Pack a toilet toll, tea towel, wash up liquid and definitely don't buy the welcome pack. Utter rip off. Pay €8 and get the taxi driver to take you to Cazu supermarket and back and get a weeks shopping for the same money. Don't pay the airport  transfer fees either. It costs €15 each way for the airport run. Don't be ripped off. Thus compound has potential to be wonderful. But there's money issues. As you approach there is nothing but unfinished buildings on your right with wire fencing all round. After exploring there are lots of other nicer compounds nearer Santa Maria. Or if you want serious luxury, book The Morabeza Hotel in SM.

We were sold on this place for its amenities but unfortunately the pools were empty, the bars and restaurant shut and the reception open only intermittently.  We were there a week and saw only the person who gave us the keys the whole time we were there.  As others have said, it is a building site with, I would estimate more than 90% of the properties that are actually finished are totally unused and unfurnished. Great if you want total privacy I guess!  There is no actual building work going on, so it is very peaceful indeed, but it looks like maybe the developers ran out of money part way through as there doesn't appear to have been any work done for a long time.

The villa itself was very nice but the fees for electricity and water are extortionate and unexpected.  For four of us we paid 100 euros for a week. And beware, there is NOTHING in the villa when you arrive and nowhere close to get provisions.  We had no toilet paper or anything to drink for the first night.

The cost of transfers to and from the airport is 30euros each way which is twice the cost of a normal taxi.  They are numerous and friendly so save your money. However had we got the transfers maybe someone would have been there to meet us when we arrived as it took us an hour in the dark to find someone to get into our villa when we arrived as they 'forgot' we were arriving.  Hard to believe given we were their only customers!

The beach is pretty (if you walk a bit up the unfinished promenade) but you cannot swim here.  However in Santa Maria there  is a gorgeous, swimmable beach when you can hire umbrellas and chairs from numerous places.

Talking of Santa Maria, it is a lovely town with lots of nice places to eat, which is fortunate given that there is nothing whatsoever in Paradise Beach.  It is worth the 4euro taxi fare to go to Santa Maria each night for food.  Can recommend Chez Pastis.

Disappointing ghost town

I invited a couple of friends and family members for my 50th birthday. It was the best place I could choose. Clean, luxurious but calm. The staff fullfilled all requests like roof top BBQ with live music, trip arrangements etc.

perfect birthday

This resort has been completely abandoned and is a lesson on how not to rely on promises. It would appear that it is a classic example of bankrupt builders which has been well documented in the press. Beware the pictures don't portray what is looks like.
