The Slogan is "Life's A Tour".     This is a well thought out concept.   24 convenience store within the hotel, nearby access to subway and 24 hour available washing machines and dryers (very new and very high tech).   The greeting at the front desk was great.  Yes, it can be a little noisy, but that's life in the Big City.  Rooms are compact, but well equipped with all of the modern touches.   The one caveat is that the room does not have a traditional desk, but the table provided works just fine. 

Mind you, not a room for people that want to spend lots of time in the room, but as a point for sleep and service, its great.

Oh, and it has the fastest and most reliable internet that I have yet to experience in China at any hotel.

Hits the right notes

Atour Light Hotel is good. I gave it 4 star because my room was near the elevator and I could hear people talking outside in hallway. The noise echo and they would talk outside the room. As for the location, it’s nicely located in middle of busy street. Easy to get to bus, and subway. The Chinese restaurant next door is good, and affordable. There is probably only 2 people who work here that know English. The room is a little small, maybe cuz I chose the king bed? Overall, I think this room was decent for my trip. WiFi is a bit slow. FYI

Good hotel for alternative

I stayed at this hotel for a good 10 days during a recent international business trip to China. While I was already mentally prepared for this hotel being a budget hotel, I still came away largely disappointed. 

First, the good parts: The rooms are fairly clean and neat with reasonably modern facilities. It appears safe and is surprisingly located in a central location just one block from ChangAn Street. There are several low end eateries within 10 minutes of walking distance. 

Now the bad: the rooms are tiny. Basically when I entered my room, I pretty much had to do everything in my bed. Overall the hotel just feels low end. I would rate a majority of Motel 6s in the U.S. above this Atour Light. There is no hotel laundry service but they do have a laundry room. However guests had to figuratively fight tooth and nail to get to the couple washers and driers. While the hotel is in a fairly central location, it's ridiculously hard to get taxis. Usually the taxis don't even come near the hotel, and the road congestion in front of the hotel can easily add 15-20 minutes of travel time even AFTER you hop into the taxi.

Overall, if you are a budget conscious backpacker who just need a simple place to sleep and nothing else, then you can stay in this place. If you are a business traveler or a tourist, I would suggest you go somewhere else. 

A budget hotel

This is the hotel for you: if you want windows so thin you can hear the outside traffic as clearly as if the window had been left open; walls so thin you can hear next door's shower; appreciate being in a room with a gap between the door and frame so that you get woken up in the early hours by noise from the corridor outside; like drinking your coffee from cheap paper cups; appreciate being cold in the night and won't be given extra bedding because there is none; if you enjoy nothing better than wrapping up in than a wafer thin towel; if you enjoy having a limited supply of of extra-poor quality toilet roll. If all these appeal to you, then I strongly recommend this hotel.
