Good Value for Money, provide free transportation to Universal Studio Beijing. 

Highly Recommended!

Friendly & Helpful Staff, though I speak Mandarin but their conversational Mandarin is too fast to literally understand. 
However, it's a great location. Near shopping mall, can easily find Halal Foods and 24 hours convenient convenient store.



Highly Recommended Hotel for vacation, near to Universal Studio Beijing 

Stayed 2 nights during Chinese New Year, with the city partially closed due to the corona-virus situation. The staff were incredibly helpful and professional. 

The rooms are clean and confortable - perhaps not too spacious if you are bringing big luggage.

Great service

Stayed here for 3 nights. The room was nicely furnished, Scandinavian style. Very bright and clean. There are even USB ports to charge your phone. I loved their cable TV , they have a selection of new Chinese dramas :)

Staff services were excellent. Staffs - Candice, Monica and Mr Huo were very helpful. They even helped us book our tour to Gubei Watertown. 

Location was good, near to Dengshikou subway station and there were many shops, convenience store and a supermarket nearby.

Excellent service and room quality

Clean spacious rooms with good lighting, comfortably firm mattresses.  Greyson and all the other front desk staff are friendly and helpful.  Location is superb - good neighborhood for walking; several major attractions within 1-3 miles, great fruit stands all over the neighborhood, also a wide choice of restaurants.  
The only downside is breakfast - unimaginative Euro-American fare; in spite of the abundance of fresh fruit in the near vicinity, none manages to show up in the breakfast room.  Note:  If you don't want the TV to come on automatically every time you enter the room, you have to unplug it -- which is easy to do.  Note 2:  If you prefer black coffee, bring your own.  The hotel provides Nestles 1+2 with tons of sweetener and creamer mixed in - and it's hard to find anything else in the nearby stores.

Excellent location, clean, comfortable room, friendly helpful staff.

My father, daughter and I spent a week at this hotel. TOP NOTCH!! Rooms were clean and bright, rainforest shower head in the bathroom! While we spent as little time in the hotel room as possible, it was always a welcome relief at the end of our day. The bar and restaurant was excellent! Great food and nice selection of beers and spirits! The best part of our experience was the staff! Very attentive and friendly! The manager David, was very helpful and one of the owners, Lie was a blast to hang out with and all the waitresses were so friendly! We loved Amber! She was so fun and such a sunny outlook all the time! I highly recommend this hotel and bar/restaurant! Cool little Hutong Museum down the street was really nice too! Be prepared to walk a bit to the Metro Station 2/3 mile maybe? If I ever get back to Beijing, I know where I will be staying!! Thank you Happy Dragon City Culture Hotel!! Don Olson

Wonderful experience!

Hongdu Shijia Hotel is also known as Happy Dragon. Saga Youth Hostel. The location is in a quiet and safe neighborhood just about 5 minutes walk to the metro station, which is also near other tourist attractions in Beijing. The young staff are very friendly and helpful. It has a restaurant and bar inside for some good food and drinks. There are also some traditional Chinese food, convenience stores and restaurants in the area.

Very nice hostel in a great loction

There are few hostels with the name alike, but the one I stayed was Happy Dragon. Saga Youth Hostel in Beijing, which was amazing, well located , the staff was very friendly, especially Iris, who was always there to help! Rooms are not a luxury  but they are spacious ,plenty of hot water and heating system very important during the winter time, they organize the tour for a fair price even though I arranged my tours with an agency, breakfast is quiet good!
I'd love to stay here again!

Happy Dragon. Saga Youth Hostel

Great location and transport links for the price (2 nearby subway stops and Tiananmen is easily walkable).
Dorm rooms and shared bathrooms are standard for the price, but they're super clean and the staff are really helpful. Would recommend.

Great budget stay in Beijing

A small and pleasant guest house-like hotel in the middle of Shi Jia Hutong, one of the few remaining Hutong (courtyards) in Beijing. In stark contrast to Nan Luo Gu Xiang Hutong, which has been ‘preserved to death’ by the Chinese authorities, and turned into the most inauthentic and wholly commercialised ‘replica’ of a traditional Hutong,, and to which tourists flock in their hordes, Shi Jua Hutong is the genuine article, tastefully preserved with a wonderful (and free) local museum. The hotel is right in the heart of the Hutong. Quiet, peaceful, local. The rooms are comfortable and of a good size, and the staff are wonderful. Breakfast is included, but no disrespect to the hotel, just walk 100 metres or so along the main road and you’ll come across the most wonderful local breakfast eatery. Go for the Full Chinese and you won’t need to eat again for a week. 

A nice place to stay if you wish to surround yourself in local atmosphere rather than sterile 4 star comfort. We enjoyed staying here 🙂

Nice Hutong 

This hostel is now called Happy Dragon Saga Hostel. The place is just okay. The beds are very uncomfortable. The staff aren’t very helpful. Obviously I know the language barrier is a problem, but the lack of motivation was a factor. Stayed at many hostels in my time, and this one was probably one of the crappiest I have been in.
