It’s our first day in Changsha, the hotel have very nice rooms.  It makes our first day in Changsha very relax and just exciting to ready to discover the city.
The buffet was average and the staff, tho they are are not affluent in English, they were helpful.

Clean and impressive

Hotel is basically very neat with Chinese style fancy lobby. Rooms were quite ok but why still have to have full carpet (this case also dirty one). Breakfast was Chinese but actually quite good. Location is also good, just next to subway station. I recommend if you do not mind dirty carpet and people who smoking in non smokin rooms.

Reasonable price, humid rooms

Grand Sun City is a good old 5 star hotel strategically located in the downtown and just a few minutes away from Metro. Room size is OK, we stayed at executive floor so I would say it has complete room amenities and a nice overlooking city. A fast WiFi connection and cable TV, but unfortunately, just like other countries, almost non english channel or even sub title available. Breakfast is excellent, they serve very good food. The lobby is also nice as well as their staff.

Good old 5 star hotel

Nice rooms .... good service and clean.
Gym and pool look very good... snoker tables available...
A little noisy due to metro construction on the road in front of it.
Breakfast avaeage to poor compared to other hotels.
Good teppanyaki restaurant on the ground floor. 

Overall a good hotel

Room was very nice. Fitness room was excellent, pool looked good. Breakfast buffet was Chinese style but very good. One staff person was a big help, I needed to find a local shop for recharging my mobile phone minutes. The hotel location will be even better when the city subway line is completed, the subway will be running under main street by the hotel.

nice hotel, helpful staff

The Grand Sun City is a nice hotel with a beautiful lobby.  Average size rooms for this rank hotel.  Comfortable bed, well appointed room with two telephones, and free internet.  Bathroom was very nice, with a better than average set of amenities.  Non-smoking rooms are available.  Friendly staff and English capable.  There were no English TV channels (other than CCTV 9).  My rate included breakfast, and it was excellent with a complete choice of western and Asian items.  You will like this hotel
This is downtown hotel, close to the older section of another super-fast growing  Chinese city.  The hotel has a different Chinese name, dedicated to the Chinese equivalent of George Washington Carver
