Staff is very friendly and helpful. The hostel is located near the old city.

The rooms are clean , big and comfortable. You can walk to the old city and enjoy the food in the day and night time. There are so many things to eat.

Nice Hostel

We really enjoyed during stay at hostel.Sadly we could only stay one night.
The rooms are clean ,large and comfy. The staff are friendly and helpful.
You walk around in the city at night. There were many things to eat.
we will come back again asap.

Friend Staff and Nice Hotel in Dali

We unfortunately had a generally bad experience in this hostel where we stayed 1 night. 

Positive: Location was good, near the east gate. The old city of Dali is quite small, so it is easy to walk around in the city. The room was spacious and we had a nice view of the roof terrace from our room. Cheap prices. You can use the common kitchen if you're on a tight budget. 

Negative: Unfortunately, not all staff speak English. On the 3 employees we encountered, one spoke English well, one could understand/speak partially only, and the other one almost didn't speak English at all, which I think is unacceptable for a hostel. We always had to wait before they could find a staff to help us in English. We had difficulty arranging airport shuttle which is a relatively simple thing. The staff is present 9am-9pm only, otherwise you have to call them (but if you don't have a cell phone working in China, you can't reach them!). They do not provide towels. Also, the bathroom was kind of moldy and badly designed (shower water was leaking into floor cracks and even almost leaked outside of the bathroom). I wasn't able to get hot water, but did not try to contact the staff about it because it was late and because I knew I'd have difficulty explaining the problem since the employee didn't understand/speak English. Would not recommend overall. And the last point: from the hotel, you can hear a rooster which will wake you up multiple times early in the morning...

Poor service and dysfunctional bathroom

he hotel is very clean,  the bed was soft and although the room was not big, it was quiet, just the perfect setting for a good night's sleep! And most important of all, the owners, are so helpful, they are willing to do everything to make your stay better. It makes you feel home. Perfect stay!

It's a great place to stay at.

The hostel is well equipped with all basic amenities but it can get a bit noisy since the hostel is surrounded by other hostels and villagers. 

The owner couple of the hostel Shiyi and Lao Lu are absolutely friendly and easygoing. Ah Zuo the guy taking care of every other thing will try to meet all your needs....literally.

Do join them for a meal or buy some local produce and join them in cooking as the friendly atmosphere will make you feel at home. 

My trip to Dali is to escape from the stifling city life and to enjoy time alone. 
Me time totally enjoyed but there's never a time I'd felt alone.
