Upon arrival the lounge was filled with other travellers and had a great energy. Really enjoyed hearing their stories. The bed was soft like a cloud and the pillows were thick and comfortable. Shower had plenty of hot water. This hostel is "shoes free" and was very clean. Even saw the lady on her hands and knees cleaning the floor. The hostel was "non-smoking" and we liked that. You can see the city wall from the windows. 
We stayed in a private bath room and the only problem we had was the sewer smell during the night. The room was quiet and we slept well. There is a Walmart about 15 minutes away from the room.
The best advice I can share is how to find this place. We heard people being charged between 20RMB and 50RMB for a taxi to this hostel. Skip the taxi and take Bus 15. Walk out of the train station and walk across the street towards the China Post Bank (Green Sign). The bus stop is right in front of you. For 2RMB the bus will drop you off in front of the hostel. It will take approx. 30 minute bus ride. Once you take a left, you will pass under a pedestrian walkway and then the Datong Hotel and Hotel Grand will be on your left. Get off at the bus at the next stop and you will be in front of the building. Walk left and turn right at the auto gate. Walk into the second entrance and you will see Fly by Knight on the board. Wish we had been given this information before arriving. Skip the cab and take the bus.

Really Enjoyed Our Stay.

Nice, spacious apartment serving as a hotel, beautiful city view, caring, attentive driver, confident atmosphere, you pay for the consumption yourself, o, you leave the keys... just, maybe, a point of attention when it comes to cleaning, go without hesitation.

The perfect formula

As you wish. Large, clean rooms in Ikea style. A generous living room and very nice, helpful host. Just finding accommodation is not very easy. Perfect too, as the caves and the train station are easily accessible from there by bus. Recommendation!

It's perfect.

After the frenzy of the big Chinese cities you will enjoy your stay in Datong. The hostel is a bit difficult to find in a driveway on the 22nd floor of a building. With a breathtaking view of the city, the rooms have large glass bays and very high-end amenities. The beds are wide soft and very comfortable. The hostel is a must-have level of hygiene, shoes are given to you on arrival, shoes stay outside. In the common toilets the materials are of high quality and beauty products are at your disposal. Absolute calm, music and zen. Thco, choco, refrigerator, computer, printer are at your disposal. Courses may be more decorated than planned!

A Place of Peace

The hostel is not easy to find. It is located in a high-rise building on the 22nd floor, but the view is fantastic. The hostel is clean, the beds are very comfortable and the sanitation facilities are also good and clean. The living area with super fast Wi-Fi and Fb access. The staff speaks good English and can provide the necessary tips for excursions and further travel.

Travel to Asia

We stayed three nights at the Hostel. We had a private room with bathroom. (no TV in the room) Basically it was really good. Nice organization, the staff are very kind, they gave us all the information we needed for our excursions. Well located. Beer and soft drinks as well as a few snacks sold on the spot and cheap. The place is really clean. Attention, however, rather difficult to find especially if you arrive at night. They are on the 22nd floor.

That's great!

We stayed there for three nights with our three elementary-age children. The mattress and mattress were extremely comfortable. The children enjoyed being able to play the XBox and watch movies in the common room. Valuable advice from the guests: on travel, restaurants around, tourist attractions, we arranged for a driver for the hanging temple. The only inconvenience: the smell of bathroom sewage that seemed to come from the plumbing because everything was very clean. For entrance: it was the 2nd door on the side and the 2nd elevator, on the left at the bottom. 22nd floor. Our taxi driver knew exactly where they were. From the train station: Make sure that the taxi departure was about 20 minutes away.

Comfortable and well located hostel

Room was perfectly clean, location is very good with a superb view over the city.  Free internet and pc and printer...  family athmosphere.  

Wash bassins and wc should be cleaned more often and better. 

Other than that is this place perfect !

Very niuce and helpfull lady.

You get a squeaky-clean room with a fluffy bed, on the 22nd floor, with huge windows - what's not to love? The view of the skyline is just glorious. The common area is probably the best I've had at any hostel/B&B, with a kitchenette, computer, printer, fridge etc. Awesome laid-back atmosphere that will instantly make you feel at home. The guys working there are my favorite. Great people, first and foremost, and great hosts on top of that, always willing to help.
The only thing that puzzled me was the transparent wall between the room and the en suite bathroom... this made one of us always leave the room when the other went to toilet. For this reason, I recommend getting a room with a shared bathroom (and this is the first time I ever say this, as I despise sharing bathrooms, but they are so clean and nice looking that even I would have 0 problems).

Loved this place

The place is clean and comfortable...we just had a couple of issues...first we have booked a twin room and a double was delivered and second they arranged a driver for us which was very annoying...not just tried to sell us 100 times tours outside the city when we told him we were not interested but also on our way to the train station picked up 2 more people and we had to put our suitcases on our laps...disappointing
