Great to stay here with excellent location. Hotel is clean and nice. The breakfast is delicious with local taste. The only bad side during my stay is the chef that Incharge of the Fuzhou fishball noodle. He is totally unfriendly, basically without facial expressions. Rude, not answering our questions. I hope the hotel will do something in order to avoid spoiling the good standard of this hotel

Great location

We had a tough time finding a hotel for an overnight trip to Fuzhou. We were worried about price, but wanted a good location for sightseeing. We eventually found the Shanshui Hotel (this translates to the Landscape Hotel in English). We were very pleased with it for the overnight.

The location is FANTASTIC for Fuzhou sightseeing. It was easy to get to the West Lake area for pandas, strolling, paddle boating, and people watching. It is less than 10 minutes walking to San Fang Qi Xiang (the historic shopping / museum / residence street) - really just around the block from it! There are dining and shopping options all around. (Including a Starbucks on the shopping street, which made me not care that their coffee was instant at breakfast).

The rooms were fine for the price. Our rooms were very much discounted from the posted rates in the hotel lobby. They would not be worth full price. They were clean enough for China. There was fresh fruit included, a computer, a TV with Chinese cable (only the CCTV English News channel isn't in Chinese). They were good sized rooms (we were in standard twin rooms) and comfortable enough, with chairs and the beds as seating options. As is the case everywhere in China, the bed only comes with a duvet thing, meaning you spend the night either hot or cold when just a sheet or thin blanket would do. That would be the case anywhere here though. The only real problem: The room I was in smelled strongly of stale cigarette smoke. That is a problem for me, but I think we could have moved if I'd felt like bothering. My friends' room was fine. We left the windows open since the weather was nice and, although it was a little noisy that way, we slept pretty well.

Breakfast was fine. Mostly Chinese, although they were trying to insert a couple of Western options in the mix. There were good eggs, vegetables, meats, and various steamed buns (a surprise flavor in each one!). There was cereal and muslix, plus some fruits.

Seems like a great Fuzhou option, if you can snag a discount fair when booking.

Good mix of value & location

My client is close to this hotel so it's good for me on a business trip.  It's in a downtown area but not in the business district so I am not sure whether it's good for other business travelers.
The hotel is clean and price is reasonable for its quality.  The network is stable and speed good enough.
There are many restaurants nearby, but all Chinese cusines.  So if you are Western travelers you might not find many places that suit you.

Good location for sightseeing

An average hotel, the room spacious enough, the mattras little bid hard good for someone who have backbone problems. The toilet in kobby were dirty and stinky. The advantage point is the hoyel located near by famous tourist spot, sanfang cixiang, and many shops around the area.
