We stayed there in May 2015, and found the room quite large and reasonably well-appointed, but dated. 

The balcony looked out to the large sprawling square in front where people would gather at night for dancing practice, with really loud music well into the night. 

The bathroom was transparent which we did not appreciate. There were no curtains or blinds at all for the bathroom, only plain glass separating the bathroom and bedroom which was embarrassing for us. There was no privacy!! We needed up pasting the glass with newspaper after purchasing cello tape from a store down the street. 

There are plenty of good restaurants nearby, and a mall which had an excellent food court where we enjoyed economical and tasty local cuisine. 

Breakfast is good, served on the top floor and there is a small outdoor area where you can sit and enjoy the sights outside from an elevation. 



Convenient but noisy area, transparent bathrooms!

Jingxiang was comfortable, central, spacious, hospitable. One of the few hotels where staff seemed to understand English - language is otherwise a huge barrier in this country, except for the guides, ofcourse.  We left our suitcases for 2 days in their care, as we travelled light to other places from here, then returned to the Hotel after the travel gap. Found things intact. The supermarket next door, plus the departmjental stores opposite were very convenient, all walking distance, and the huge Park between turns into an open air dance floor after dark with recorded dance music and lots of fun to watch. Enjoyed the stay.

Room
The room is very spacious, like most hotels in China. The fridge is not working very well and if you are staying for a few nights like we did, it gets a bit inconvenient when you want to enjoy chilled drinks. Do bring your own coffee powder if you are a caffeine-addict because the hotel does not provide coffee at all, even during breakfast.  

Bathroom
Bathroom is OK, however, the towels are off-colour and looked very old.

Breakfast
Buffet breakfast is held on the 5th floor terrace in an enclosed air-conditioned room. However, I found the choices poor with mostly Chinese fare. I noted there were bread, boiled eggs, fried noodles, sweet potatoes and corn.

Location 
Location is very good as it is opposite a big departmental store (with a supermarket) and a open square for recreation. In the evening, if you are interested in dancing, you could join the locals in mass latin and ballroom dances (Cha Cha, Disco Rock, Waltz, etc.) at the square. If you want a good work-out, you could jog to the nearby park like we did (turning right from the hotel entrance) and climb up a hill to have a bird eye’s view of the city.

Beware of what you use in the room! All items are tagged with a price. Though these days, it’s very common for hotels to provide complimentary water but this hotel is charging 15 yuan per bottle.
During my second night at the hotel, I lost a brand new bottle of moisturiser. I suspected it had been stolen when the room was cleaned. I reported the theft to the front desk and though they informed that they would check, they did not even get back to me with a reply even after I checked out. It was terribly disappointing.
 
Overall
I would stay in this hotel again due to its spacious room and its convenient location but I would be more careful with my belongings.

Good Location But Be Careful of Your Belongings

This is an excellent hotel for business travellers and exhibitors. It is just opposite the large exhibition centre and opposite a large park. A huge departmental store and supermarket is just across the street and easy to obtain your daily essentials. For westerners, Sharon's Coffee & Restaurant is also within walking distance. 
I stayed on the 7th floor. Rooms are clean, bath fittings are like new. Looks like it's been recently renovated. Bathroom interior is visible (but curtained) from bedroom, good for couples but not for visitors.
Location wise is a bit distanced from river and lake areas so it's not popular with free and easy type. If transport is not a problem this is an excellent choice hotel. 
Be careful of what you use in the room, almost everything has a price on it except Chinese tea and water from the tap. The 2 bottles of mineral water are RMB15 each if you opened it. Condoms are provided and chargeable.

Excellent for business travellers

Was on a packaged tour and when we had booked the tour requesting for double beds were given rooms with twin beds instead.  Had to pay more should we want to switch rooms.

Rooms either had faulty lights, shower or non-flushable toilets.

Insufficient lights along the corridors with some rooms located at an eerie far corner near to several aircon condenser units.
