The front desk staffs really help a lot in getting us cheap tickets, arranging our day trip and even transportation to the airport and train station. 
The room is clean and comfortable. Reasonable price. Easy to find the place even to me the first timer. 
We stayed 4 nights on June 2018.

Friendly staffs

Easy to find location near to McDonald's and Starbucks! It's on a quieter street adjacent to the bar street, so you hear minimal noise at night. No lift in here but the private room is good value for money, considering it's right in the heart of west street. Do head over to Starbucks level 2 which overlooks the bid pond- that's where you can sneakily watch the live cormorant fisherman show that happens in the evening :p

In the heart of west street 

I thought I had to settle for an expensive option, because it turned out this town is very, very crowded around this time of the year. This being the fourth hostel, I stayed in a 6 bed dorm alone, it was a clean room, a comfy bed, proper showers and a reasonable price.

Sufficient space for late arrival during Chinese New Year!

Overall the location was great and the hostel was nice. Staff spoke enough english to get by, but still limited. 
-My first stay here was great. The room was very clean and the bathrooms were very nice as well, with western toilets. I stayed in a 4 bed dorm, with no roommates the first night and only 1 the second. The bunks have privacy curtains and easy have an outlet and a reading light. It was quiet and the AC worked great. 
-My second stay I had 3 other roommates who were rather noisy. One kept going in and out of the room, which kept turning the AC off, bc the rooms require a room key in the light switch for power. There was also some loud music that played the same beat until almost 1am.

2 Stays, 2 Different Experiences

We stayed in a room for three people without a booking and a got a nice deal for 180 RMB/room. The room was very nice, very clean and there was a beautiful view to the creek and mountains. There was a nice balcony with chairs too. We felt the view was better than the Li river view from some of the more expensive hotels. The beds were a bit hard, but still ok in China. The room was not like a typical hostel room, more like a hotel room. 

On the negative side, the rooms can be a bit noisy. You might hear some music from the nearby bars and if it is a busy season the nearby rooms might have noisy neighbors. But if you don't mind using earplugs, you can totally sleep well. Well, sometimes some cigarette smoke came into the room.... 

For us the hostel and the view from the room was a nice surprise with a very competitive rate! We recommend!
