This is a beautiful and friendly hotel in center of a small town south of Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou. The province is building a subway to connect Huaxi to Guiyang, and a developer is building a beautiful amusement park not far from here, so it might not be that quiet in a few years. Given how small the town is, I was surprised to have this kind of hotel there. Everything about it is great. The breakfast might not be 100 percent what you might expect at a fancy hotel in China, but it was more than servicable. The front desk was beyond reproach, and really helpful in the two major requests I had (they helped me arrange transport, and they allowed me to stay a couple of hours after check out). I was really impressed. They even have plugs for Singaporean outlets, so I didn't need my adaptor. The bed was beyond amazing.

An excellent hotel in a small town

Already paid in full when I booked this hotel but the staff at front desk charged again. Hotel staff not professional. Will not recommend this hotel. Will definitely choose other hotels next time. thanks.

Stayed here with my team on a business trip. It is quite a way out of town but with all the subway construction, that is probably a good thing.
Howard Johnson Qunsheng is out past the university.  Keep a looking out for the bizarre water tower apartment and you will know that you are heading in the right direction.
Like most guests, we came for a convention type meeting.  The convention centre itself is right out in front of the hotel and is one of the most impressive facilities I have ever seen.  Some of the meeting rooms are absolutely enormous and super luxurious.
Back at the hotel, there is a well-equipped gym but we decided to wind down after dinner with a few frames of snooker. Fortunately, our boss is English and so he was able to demystify all the different colors and obscure rules for us.
We all really enjoyed this hotel and are looking forward to coming back again in the future.

Best choice for business and convention delegates

We accompanied our boss here on a business trip and were really impressed by the price and the facilities.  The staff were all very helpful, especially the General Manager Vivian, who bent over backwards to help us.

The rooms were superb but the best part for me, was relaxing after our meeting in the Riviera Café in the afternoon. The coffee was the best latte I have had had anywhere in China, and the black cherry chocolate gateau was just melt-in-your-mouth amazing.

I am really surprised that this place is not rated higher on Tripadvisor as it beats the pants off many other places.  Down here in the hi-tech zone, I thought that with all the other multinational offices of companies like Microsoft, Apple and Foxconn that it would be the most popular choice for overseas guests. Hopefully a few more reviews like this will help spread the word for future guests.

The best value hotel in all of Guiyang

I was in Guiyang on business for a week and Hojo Qunsheng was one of the highlights of my trip. It is a little bit more expensive that some of the other hotels nearby, but it was worth every penny. Not every five-star hotel in China reaches the correct standard but this one certainly does. Downtown Guiyang is still a bit run down, and the subway construction is creating all sort of traffic chaos, but out here in Huaxi the environment is much nicer.
The staff were very helpful in helping to organise a car up to the VR park. We even managed to get a reduced ticket price of 110 RMB down from the usual 160 RMB. If like me, you are a big VR fan, there is a hotel around the corner with a VR experience room, but the rooms are not as nice as these, and I would still stay at the Hojo.
I found it kind of funny that here we were, out in the middle of Guizhou doing so much VR. Movie buffs might remember that the classic sci fi movie 2001:A Space Odyssey featured a lot of Howard Johnson branding on the sets, some of the very first product placement on film in fact. And now here we were, in one of the very latest Hojo hotels right out on the other side of the planet, visiting VR theme parks and attending big data meetings.
Overall, this was the best hotel that we stayed at in Guiyang, and I would love to stay here again.

Modern, stylish hotel great for conventions, and close to the VR Park

This hotel has a high standard in rooms and service. Staff is friendly, even though they don’t speak a lot of English. 
Food is really good and everything is kept in shape. Visit the lower floor (-1) to get access to a fitness and billard pool table
