This hotel gives the shivers in the spine that a horror movie provides. It’s not only creepy but many of the people staying here felt a little bizarre too. I was quick to check out the following morning. Definitely don’t recommend for the state of the hotel and distance into town.

Creepy and Disappointing

My three stars for this hotel may just be a bit generous.

Pros:
-Large-sized pool; excellent for laps
-  Big balcony
- free wi-fi in room
- large rooms

Cons:
-NOTHING...and I mean nothing around this hotel...just constructions sites with workers; no   restaurants within a 10-minute walk. You feel very isolated here...this is very important. You will feel like you are in the middle of nowhere...literally and not in a good way
-Access to beach restricted
- Hotel not fancy...at all
- Need to take a taxi to go anywhere...and there are no taxis in front of the lobby
- Bathroom offers no privacy to bedroom area..you essentially face the bedroom and bare all

Stay Somewhere Else!

We were booked into a 2 bedroom suite and the roomwas very large.  There was a full kitchen, but they had removed the cook top and there were no utensils or cooking things.  Therefore, the kitchen was wasted space and useless.

There were 2 bathrooms.  They were large with good equipment but the floors were not clean.  They were not even close to clean.

The living room area was large, spacious and had a couch and two chairs, plus there was an eating table with 4 huge chairs.  Again, though, the floor was not clean.

The bedrooms were large, with nice clean linens.

The housekeeper did not clean out our used coffee/tea cups.

The worst thing about this hotel, though is that it is surrounded by construction sites.  Loud, obnoxious construction sites.  They work very early in the morning.  

The pool was nice, but they demanded that we put on swim caps.

The chinese restaurant offered quite decent food, but the service was awful and the place was full of flies.  

I would say that this hotel is just ok.  Lots of space, but really not clean and the service level certainly ins't up to par with the other large chain hotels in the area.

Just ok, though spacious

The hotel is located in the western coast of Haikou City where there are long quiet beaches. Not far away Sheraton and Shangri-la hotels & resorts are located there too. The area is very suitable for vacations, with beautiful sights.

The balcony of the room faces the sea. It is that large so you can place two sun chairs on it to enjoy the sun. You can also hang your wet clothes and swimwear out to make them dry easily. 

Like the rooms of other hotels in Hainan Province, due to its hot weather, none carpet is set in the room. 

There are both fixed and movable shower heads in the bathroom. However the water flow is not massive enough. 

The place where socket in the mini bar is too high for the guests to insert the wire of the electronic kettle, because the wire is not long enough to reach it. Thus I had to move the kettle to other socket. But I can smell the disinfectant from the boiled water.

The corridors of the hotel are not sealed, so the guests can see the sea. When I arrived there in the evening, I could see many winged insects were attracted by the light and flying there.  I guess the girls who are afraid of insects will feel scared.

Several large scaled swimming pools are on the ground floor, with water depth from 1.4m to 1.7m. Other facilities include hot-spring and fitness rooms. The ground floor actually is a beautiful garden too. You can walk to private beach from there. But the sea there is not for swimming. I can see many couples taking their pre-wedding portraits there. The scenery is very beautiful.

I'm finally getting around to writing this review many months after the fact.  I stayed here for a conference in march 2012.  It didn;t help that it was cloudy and gray the whole time I was there so maybe that biased my opinions but I did not particularly enjoy my stay here.  There are construction sites all around so the scereny is not great.  There is a real dearth of greenery.  The furnishings are spartan and the tile floors, while easy to clean I am sure, don't lend much in terms of comfort or warmth.  The restaurant downstairs is okay but has very limited hours and the hotel was not close to any other food vending establishments.

Maybe this area will be further developed and turn into a real destination but I found it lacking.

Not quite there yet as of March 2012, maybe better now?

Came here for a night's stay in July and was pleasantly pleased with the hotel. The room was clean but we were welcomed by a damp smell but overall the room was very comfortable. The bathroom however was a bit of a problem as there is no door and there is no proper wall, it is literally see through. There was a blind you could pull down but you could still see through so when showering and going to the toilet you will have no privacy! Breakfast was good, there was a large selection of food which was constantly being replenished. Very happy with the service we got.
