I booked an Economy Queen Room without a window through Agoda and did not opt to include breakfast. This was my second stay at this hotel, the previous being the year before in May, also in a room without a window. I chose this hotel based on its proximity to the metro and the fact that it was within walking distance to two of the brewpubs I was visiting on this trip -- BREWGANG and East River. However, it is located in the middle of a pedestrian street. Therefore, if you have heavy or bulky luggage, you should know that if you arrive by taxi, it can only drop you off at one of the street entrances. You will have to carry or pull your luggage approximately 200 metres from the north gate or 320 metres from the south gate.

As a solo budget traveller who is familiar with China and speaks some Chinese, I just needed a basic place to sleep. Since I was only staying overnight on a tightly-planned itinerary, I didn’t have a need for other hotel facilities. My interactions with staff were minimal. I was quickly checked into a third-floor room which I found to be clean and of a comfortable size. My wifi login from the previous year still worked. One potential problem with interior rooms without windows is that they can smell musty or even have mold. In both of my stays at this hotel, neither were an issue.

Were I to return to Hangzhou as a solo budget traveller, I would definitely consider staying here again. For its price, there were none of the typical issues, such as faulty air conditioning, plumbing, hardware, or wifi; neither did the hotel interior exhibit much wear and tear. It is located in a pleasant, historical neighbourhood that is quiet at night. In addition to the heritage interest of the area, there is a good selection of restaurants nearby if you don’t feel like venturing far. For those wanting to spend time exploring West Lake, it is 1.5 kilometres from the hotel.

Clean, Quiet Budget Hotel Near Metro

Location is good as its within walking distance from mrt and also Qinghefang Old Street.

Power stopped for a split second twice on both nights we were there, but other than that no issues with the room 

If you are taking taxi to the airport, would advice not to take up the hotel staff offer (they quoted me RMB200). I flagged off a taxi near the hotel, it cost me only around RMB100 to get to the airport

Price and location ok

The hotel is located about 5 minutes walk from Exit D from Ding'an Metro station. If you take taxi or bus, you will still need to carry your bags to the hotel as it is located in the middle of the pedestrian shopping street of Nan Song Yu Jie. 

There is one cinema and one 24-hour convenience stores right opposite the hotel. If you don't feel like to going far, you can grab buns and beverages there. 

If you continue to walk down the street until you reach McD on Qing Fang Street, you will find plenty of food stores and restaurants around the area. You can also find plenty silk shops and souvenir shops in the area. 

Back to the hotel - the hotel is not the standard ibis style hotel, but a budget ibis hotel. We had a twin room facing the front (walking street) on the fifth floor. It is comfortable and not noisy at all. The room was comfortable and big enough for us. 

Free wifi (need help from receptionists on first day), basic necessities like toothbrush, indoor slipper, hair dryer, kettle and two bottles of drinking water are provided. 

The door lock was a bit jam. We had to kick open the door. When we entered the room, the window was opened wide. Cockroaches and insects were lying on the floor and the table. Then there was awful smell in the bathroom. The bathroom was clean so we suspected the smell comes from the drainage holes.

Average hotel in popular tourist pedestrian shopping street

As the title said, it is one of the cheapest hotel in a prime area. Located within a walking street, car is not able to send you right to the doorstep. They are likely to drop you at the backlane or mainroad and you need to walk to the hotel.

Room is extremely small, i stayed in a double room, the toilet door cant even open full swing. Other than that, everything is still acceptable.

There is a lady sitting next to the reception selling local tour. If you want to save time to plan, you can consider taking her trip, but it is a shopping tour. I took a trip to wuzhen, ended up spending more time on shopping than visiting the scenic spot.

Hotel is quite close to Dina An Lu metro station. About 5 minutes walk from  Exit D of the metro station will bring you to the entrance of the walking street. Bus is also very convenient, with multi buses serving west lake from the main road near the hotel.

If for budget stay, i will recommemd this hotel. If you have allocated more for accomodation, find somewhere closer to city center. 

Btw, there is a.mosque located a few blocks away from the hotel. Very convenieent for Muslim traveller.

Budget and location

The hotel is within the walking street, so car can't access to the hotel. So we carry our luggage from the road outside and walked to hotel. To me this is fine as to make sure quite and no pollution from the car. 

The check in area small and feel like a bit messy. There is a coffee / wine bistro in the reception area. There are a fridge located in the reception area which selling drink at very reasonable price.

There are 2 lift in the hotel and the lift is transparent so you can see the street outside. I was arranged to stayed in 2nd floor, the room is small (Ibis style) but clean. The room is simple but provided the needs for room guest. Aircond is old but functioning and cool, and the bed is bit hard but find for me.

Bathroom is really small (Ibis style) but no problem on the water pressure and hot water, so to me is good enough.

As located within the walking street, so you can explore many shops around the hotel which is very convenience.

This is not a luxury or even mid range hotel, but it recommended to stay if your focus is just the tourist spot and foods.

Strategic Location in Tourist Spot

Inexpensive hotel. Friendly staff. And a perfect location in the heart of old city tourist district. 20 minute walk from West Lake. Close to metro Line 1 Ding'an Road. No breakfast though, and the room is so small. Make sure to get a room not over looking the street because it is very noisy at night. For Muslims, there is a Mosque near the hotel and lots of Muslim restaurants,and one Muslim store.

Budget hotel in tourist arsa

They were still renovating the reception when i stayed there in Dec 2016,the rooms look small and unrenovated,the bathroom was lacking some facelift and not clean,looks as if it was previously some other hotel and was bought by the chain recently?
the street and area is quite ok and close to the metro station just two minutes walk north,its a pedestrian street so some noise at night,mostly music from the stores,the rooms towards the back might be quieter
Cheking in was complicated,no English and in typical Chinese fashion,asking for money and deposit upright before getting into the room,
couldnt even go check in and go out to an ATM,i was not carrying cash,the annoying things always found in China hotels,treated like if you were a petty thief that will jump out of the window without paying
Not a place i will stay again nor recommend
